  1. Had my visit with the surgeon today. I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. Everything is going great so far and I've not had an issue with any food that I've been allowed to try so far. Other than the one spoon too much which i quickly learned to recognize that before it happens.. That's a terrible feeling for real!! I am down 21 lbs since surgery and down 121.4 lbs since Jan 14th 2016. Sometimes it's hard to believe. Hope everyone is have a great Monday!

    Cold cuts

Be careful with cold cuts they are processed food and some can have hidden sugars and carbs in them.
  4. I'm 11 days out and the gas pain in my shoulder was the worst part of mine. It goes away slowy.. the more you move and the more you drink seems to help. My third day was rough, but feeling good now. You got this! It will get better. I promise Hope you feel bettter soon
  5. I'm 9 days post op and was just wondering if anyone knew why when we drink fruit juice it has to be diluted? On my menu plan the NUT gave me for after surgery, it says we can drink fruit juice, but it has to be diluted. Was just wondering why? Thanks!

    Surgery buddy 10/6/16

Hi. @@flesteresq I had mine on October 11th. I had mine in Ashland Kentucky and had a fairly ok recovery so far. I'm still on the liquid phase so hoping the other phases go as smoothly. My issue is getting in the liquids though. Hope your recovery is going easy!
  7. Im 10 days post op.. the worst pain was the gas that laid up in my left shoulder.. my abdomen is sore...like i did a million pushups... but other than that everything has been good. I freaked myself out also... then when i woke up.. i was like.. umm what was the big deal? loll You'll do fine!! You got this. Prepare yourself now for the changes though and it won't be so hard on you when it comes to the post op diet. And Come to this board often... the support here is amazing!!

    Help!

@blizair09 thank you. I'm waiting on that stall and ready to face it. I've talked to several and they say it's brutal, but to hang in there... it's our body's way of recovering still from the surgery. Hopefully it passes soon for you and you get back to losing

I have no idea... I didn't need one.

    Today is the day

You'll be fine! I was sleeved 9 days ago and freaking out! I woke up and was like... umm what was the big deal? Prayers for easy and fast recovery!
  12. You are definetly not alone in all of this. sometimes it's good to just get it out and sometimes with our everyday people it's hard to do. Because unless they've went through this themselves, then they don't know the feelings. Vent often, no one's going to judge. Good luck on your journey

    No more weight loss

Everything you mentioned eating is probably alot of the reason you're not losing as you should. I'm sorry you had the surgical experience that you had, that was terrible for real. But you really need to find a nutritionist that you can talk to that can get you on plan to what you need to eat. If you didn't go through any kind of education before the surgery, then you've really not been guided to what can work for you. Also, you mentioned that you couldn't exercise because of a knee injury. There are millions of videos on you tube for sitting exercises. You can do those with no stress at all on your knees. Any movement is good movement and will burn calories! I wish you much luck on your journey

    Just curious...

Thank you all. I was just curious as to why only diluted..when i'm allowed to have vegetable juice, not diluted. I'm sure it has something to do with the sugar content as well

    Help!

@@blizair09 i did the same, lost 100lbs before surgery... being 8 days preop... i realize how much it helped me. @@markiealex hang in there. find someone to talk to and I hope things go better for you. Try blogging, writing your feelings when you feel you want to eat... anything that can help get your mind off the food. Good luck on your journey

    Able to eat almost anything

i was allowed sugar free pudding, but absolutely no meat at all for 2 week after surgery. the 3rd week i can try soft grounded up meats..but not until then. I'm on day 8 and still on my 2 week liquid diet.. like i said though.. i can have pudding and Jello and things like that.. even stage 1 babyfood veggies and fruit. Please take care with trying those solid foods and wait a few more weeks. It's very dangerous to be eating that way right now.
  17. It's been one week since being sleeved.. things are going way better than I expected :)

  18. my doctor said they would start falling off themselves within 10-14 days... i'm 7 days out and have some peeling along the edges...i'm scared to pull them because i dont want to rip anything open..loll
  19. i was sleeved a week ago today 10/11/16. i was up walking within a few hours of surgery and the only pain i really have had to deal with is the gas pains. i dont think i've been as fortunate to get all Protein and liquid down because i still feel extremely full all the time. Hoping this will pass soon. but my recovery has gone way easier than expected. I've taken maybe 2 of the pain meds prescribed..and that was the first night home from the hospital and mostly because of the gas pains in my shoulder. No nausea... or anything like that. I've had no issue with my incisions either. So I'm counting this easy recovery as a blessing:) Good luck to all of you on your journey!!
