    Horrible Pain

Sorry you have this and Post Op at same time. It will pass, hopefully soon. I passed 3 of them before I had surgery, and pain meds were my best friend. I am making sure I drink, drink, drink to avoid anymore.

    Things that make me fart.

It is all about eating clean, even B4 WLS. The DS has more challenges, but also offers the best weight reduction for extreme overweight people. But even with sleeve and bypass, eating clean, and watching our how our bodies respond is key. I also am aware that our insides change over time and what bothers us now, may not months later.

    Days spent in hospital

I had Bypass and was released the next day. Dr. did say from the beginning 2 days is normal stay.

    Horrible Pain

Yep see your Dr. It could be Kidney stones. I had that with my last major diet. Moistly due to lack of hydration. Good luck, they are not fun.

    Things that make me fart.

I have a couple friends that had DS, and when they eat the wrong carbs do they not only have gas, but the smell can be used to peal the paint of an old tank.

    Things that make me fart.

Most of these smell terrible without lack of digestion. I could just imagine after it sits inside us and rots some more. Cabbage. Broccoli. Beans. Deviled eggs. (Oh dear lord.)

    Surgery scares!

I have a person at work that her husband had RNY and has had a lot of complications over the last 3 years. Talking with her, I learned he did not follow hardly any directions from Dr. post surgery. Not enough protein, eating solids too early, and not taking any vitamins. He will not even talk to Dr. about his complications, or go to support groups. I really agree that following the process properly and getting Dr involved with any issues early is the way to go. I had Revision from VBG, and it was more complicated than regular RNY, but I could not be happier, and the person at work is feeling better about WLS for herself now seeing her husbands problems is isolated and not a general issue.
  9. I had VBG 20 yrs ago and dealt with it till last month when I was revised to RNY. Best thing I have done and wish I had found a Dr years ago to do this. My insurance initially hesitated wanting 6 month pre diet, but with all my complications, and Dr explaining this was the only option, they waived it. Let me know if I can provide any more info. May bypass group!

Glad your revision from VBG seems to be going well. I could not be happier with how mine went. The only thing I see is it seems too easy to eat. I am still on pureed, but some foods that allow that allow 8 oz. at a time for the meal requirements, I do not feel full. I do not take more to manage calorie and Protein needs for each meal and day. I am sure when I get to regular foods that will change, so enjoying the healing now.
  11. BCAA also comes in powder form, and I would add to post workout shakes. It has all amino acids for complete protein, and it helps post work out protein to be used by the body to rebuild muscles. when I was weight lifting or hard interval training, I did notice improved recovery.

    Puréed food ideas please

With blended soups and mixture of refried beans and meat, I add chili sauce and Sriracha sauce to enhance the flavors. I also add Onions, garlic or other spices to brighten the flavor. I still not happy with eating this texture less food, but at least it has flavor and I know I am allowing the healing to get to regular food on a few more weeks.

    I am approved!

    Congrats
  14. I had controlled but not liquid only 2 wks. B4 surgery. All liquid 2 weeks after. I took almost 3 weeks off. Even though I have a desk job, I still had pain and excess tiredness at 2 weeks. The last week I took was really nice for me, and not having to deal with the stress at work while not feeling fully up to speed.

    B12 for Bypass patients

I take 2500 mcg per day. Yes excess does wiz out, but it does help the fatigue during first few months after surgery. I may cut back on dose after I start eating more meats.
  16. Pulling stored cloths from about 4 years ago and finding treasures I can now fit in, as well as others that will fit as I reach closer to my goal weight. (Also making new piles that are now too big for me.)

    Workout Music

I downloaded to my Iphone PodRunner Shift, by DJ Steve Boyett. I can choose hundreds of exercise mixes at different BPM, as well as the shift allows be to change any mix to the BPM I want at the time. They also have many Interval mixes. Most mixes are about 60 min long so work well for most my workouts. Link: http://www.djsteveboy.com/app.html

    Slowing weight loss

Try breaking up your routine. Cycle up calories for a few days, and also increase work out intensity but shorter time to get your body off its comfort point. This worked for me in past with stalls. Good luck, and never give up.
  19. Anyone use and can give reccomdations for an app that can help pre-plan weekly meals and nutrition info?

Congrats I had mine in Grand Rapids and could not be happer with the staff and Dr Kemmeter at GHP. Best medical and personal treatment I have ever had my whole life.
  25. I had bypass and gallblader removal 1 week ago and still get strong sharp pulling pain when I try to walk. Unless I take both dilauded and valum th pain is too much to walk and move around. I am doing very well getting in protein and water, and no pain while sitting. I am calling my Dr today, but wandered if others experiance the same and it will resind soon, or can provide other info. Thanks
