  1. I'm considering Dr. Titus Duncan out of Atlanta, GA. Has anyone used him or who would you recommend? I can use the following centers and would like recommendations as well: Emory Hospital- midtown Atlanta Medical Center Northside Hospital Surgery center of Atlanta Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Thanks!!
  2. Did anyone on here complete their psych evaluation online?
  3. Which website did you use! I've only seen one, for $150? I was wondering if it was legit. Bariatricpsychevaluations.com... Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi. I was wondering for those whose insurance "covered" the surgery, how much did you have to pay out of pocket? Thanks Sent from my LG-D851 using the BariatricPal App
  5. @@MeFirst that sounds very reasonable. My program requires a $600 program fee which can be refunded if you're not approved for some reason
  6. That is crazy! I know it's different for everyone, just wondering the ranges. Sounds to me like your physician encourages out of pocket to avoid dealing with insurance.
  7. As crazy as this sounds.......if I'd used my insurance then my out of pocket cost would have been $27,000+ By doing 100% self pay it cost me only $19,000. How crazy is that. Very grateful my surgeon and his group reduce their rates in that way for self-funded patients.
  8. How long before you felt up to it?
  9. Glad things are going great. Did you mean short of a few scars? The word scares makes me nervous Also who was your surgeon?
  10. I know for sure it isn't magic, just wondering if it felt like over half of your stomach was just removed. There is something psychological about that to me, which is why I asked.
  11. It's a rare surgery of any type that doesn't hurt right after to one degree or another. Different people have different pain thresholds. I hope your question isn't implying that you think weight-loss surgery is magic. Far from it. There is work to be done and there are habits to be worked on. That goes for the losing stage and the maintaining stage.
  12. Very interesting responses. Thank you all!
  13. Has anyone used him? Which center/ surgeon would you recommend in the Atlanta, GA area?
