hope you get some answers or at least get put on a path to find out what's going on. Good luck today! It's been 1 month since I got the balloon and still have only seen like a 2-3 pound weight loss. Very disappointing. Not a happy camper at all! I have about 30 pounds to lose and I really thought this would work. I know I'm not eating as much as I use too and it's very discouraging. Going to the doctor this week! Hoping for something

Had a tough weekend...was out celebrating a birthday with friends and tried to eat as I used to, or at least not being as adherent to the "rules" and boy did I pay for it. Really bad stomach cramping and feeling crappy today. It was eye opening how much is "too much" now as opposed to what it used to be. And definitely a struggle for me to differentiate between actual hunger and being hungry out of boredom, stress, etc. looking forward to getting back to the program this week.

I was just out the day of the procedure and the following day and felt that was enough, but I know some have recommended taking off a whole week. Your doc should give you mess for nausea and cramping which helped me immensely.
I am taking a regular Multivitamin and Calcium, that's all that my NUT and dr recommended.

Seems like we are all experiencing so many different things. I was and still have never been nauseous. really had no side effects and I'm wondering if they should have filled my balloon up more. It's at 500cc. I'm on day 25 and still have seen only a 4-5 pound drop. They told me I'm the only person to ever feel ok and not lost a lot of weight by now. Not something you want to hear. I'm not happy bc I spent so much money on something I thought would work...eating like 1000-1200 calories a day and still nothing much. They are talking about putting me on weight loss meds too. Ugh
I had the procedure last Monday and haven't really had much nausea, but only some minor cramping the first couple of days, so you aren't alone! I'm interested to see what your doc ends up doing because as the days go on I'm not sure if I'm less hungry or just losing weight due to the post-procedure diet.
I will say I worked out yesterday and could really tell that my energy was zapped from having so few calories this past week. A little frustrating, but I think at this point all I can do is follow the plan and hope everything will work itself out.

Congrats! Mine is in 10 days. I was not hungry at all. Still only get a little hungry towards the end of the day. I did feel some odd cramping (not like PMS) the first few days that I felt sort of like hunger. Maybe your confusing it? I find though that even when I eat a real meal that I don't feel "full" until hours later! Last night I had a small piece of fish with a 1/4 cup rice and 3 pieces of shrimp cocktail. Didn't feel full at all. But 4 hours later, I felt miserable, like I overate. So, I think there is an adjustment period when we have to pay close attention to cues our bodies are giving. and then adjust accordingly. Good luck with your first week.Just had my balloon in this morning, feel fine so far-just slight cramping and queasiness. I had some minor discomfort when I think I had too much Water too quickly, like it was stuck in my throat, but nothing else. I've been able to tolerate a Protein shake and sugar free Popsicle as well. However, I'm super hungry! Even after the shake. Is this normal?
Thanks! I think you're right that I might be confusing some cramping/discomfort with hunger, because I don't feel like I could eat much, I just have that hunger pang.

Do you feel like you're eating less? Perhaps your ballon wasn't filled all the way and should be filled more? I read the amount can vary depending on stomach size.
I'm curious to see what people think. I'm having the procedure in Monday and would be really frustrated if I saw minimal weight loss too.

Just scheduled my procedure for Monday! Really excited to get started on this journey.

When I had a different surgery a couple of years ago I had the spacers put in and that was fine. Depending on location of piercing and length of spacer they can get caught on clothes, etc. if you'd really rather not take them out you can ask your doctor to be sure, but I just figured I'd take out the metal.

If there is a fleet feet store or other running store they often have training programs. Fleet feet has an intro to 5k program called No Boundaries that is tailored to intro people into running. I've done it and really enjoyed it. It helped me to have a group to train with and a coach to guide us and keep us motivated. https://www.fleetfeetsports.com/training-programs/beginners

@@jeff636 have an appt. at MNS with Dr. Scott next week. What can I expect? How long did it take between the initial appointment and procedure? Have you been satisfied with the follow up? Thanks for sharing!

I've had the balloon in for just over 3weeks and I'm down about 18 pounds. The hardest part so far has been finding ways to cope with boredom, stress, etc. because with the balloon in, it has become very apparent when I am actually hungry or just want to eat something. I've been having some increased acid reflux, has anyone taken additional antacids, besides the prescribed one? Like tums, Rolaids, etc. any recommendations?
