What Is Your Beverage of Choice?

Your NUT allows caffeine? I've been off the stuff since March.

What Is Your Beverage of Choice?

I like the drops you put in Water, or I get Powerade Zero or VitaminWater Zero (açai blueberry yum). You have to watch the drops though... some of them are energy drinks and have caffeine in them.
  3. So just a couple of things I wanted to share... since I started my journey, I've lost over 100 lbs! Cautiously optimistic that my tool is working Secondly, I was able to buy shirts at Old Navy today. Clothes shopping was easy!

    New to Bariatric Pal

@@JMJames92 welcome! Good job on the progress
  5. Hi all I've been in the soft food phase for a couple of weeks now. More often than not, food seems to be getting stuck. I've been really careful to chew thoroughly, take small bites, and make sure the food is moist. Anyone have any tips?

    Tummy sleeper and surgery

I'm a stomach sleeper and I'm about a month out and I'm finally able to sleep on my stomach for long periods of time What I did was use a pillow to cushion my pouch and I could sleep for a little more each night.
  7. So today was day two of softer solid foods. I had another part of the chicken breast i had for dinner last night, but this time my pouch wouldn't tolerate it and three trips to the bathroom later I threw up. I ate really slowly and chewed it up really well, but 10 mins after eating I had pain and it felt like something was stuck in my throat. Did I eat too much or maybe it wasn't soft enough anymore? I'm trying to figure out how to not repeat it since it happened at work.

    Shakes!?!?

Yeah the strawberry isn't that great... I still have half a case of them to choke down. My pouch tolerates it fine but the taste leaves much to be desired.

    BIG NSV

Just wanted to chime in that I got a two-fer when I went to my doctor light headed this week He stopped one of my blood pressure meds... hence the lightheadedness. Then he went on to remove Diabetes from my chart! I nearly cried.

    BIG NSV

This is really why I did it. The comorbidities are more important to me to eliminate than the weight itself. Don't get me wrong, it feels good to get on the scale and eventually be in smaller clothes but diabetes was a dragon I was very keen on slaying.

How Long Should I Take Off From Work?

    Foods My Pouch Can Tolerate

I've been eating Elli Quark... which is a german-style cheese a lot like greek yogurt. It has a higher protein-to-carb ratio, it's slightly lower calorie, and lemme tell you, 4 tablespoons of it almost over fills me. It also tastes less sour to me than greek yogurt. They have lots of great flavors, including those without chunks for us puree eaters...

    3 Wks / Pain Middle Right 3rd

My program has put me on Actigal... I start those freaking horse pills next week. They're huge capsules that I have to take with warm water... can't break them open like my omeprazole.

    Vitamins

I'm taking the children's complete chewable that's the walgreens store brand. They don't taste bad. Will probably switch to Celebrate multis after this bottle's gone.

How Did You Choose Your Surgeon?

My PCP also recommended a surgeon to me... he actually went rogue recommending a surgeon he wasn't supposed to (outside my clinic system) because that surgeon was good.
  20. My wife sent this article this morning and I thought I'd share: http://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/index.ssf/2016/09/bariatric_surgery_patients_rid.html Enjoy your Labor Day
  21. I had mine at St. Joseph's on last Wednesday. Everyone was awesome. The rooms look a little older but everyone treated me really well.

    Fitbit

I loved my two fitbits before I washed one and lost the other. They made me stay active
  23. I've been having odd dreams since surgery about food. They fall into 1 of 2 categories. First is "slide shows." I see a slide show of foods that would likely make me dump. Second is a scenario. I'm out with ppl. Could be coworkers could be friends. I order some things I shouldn't have, but never eat them. Am I just battling head hunger in an odd way?

    Hi!

I've been active on a couple of the other forums but just wanted to stop in and introduce myself and say Hi. I'm one week down in the liquid diet and a week out from surgery. I'm both excited and nervous all at the same time...
