I have UHC choice plus. I didn't have to do the 6month diet. Mine was submitted on the 03/10 and I had an approval by noon on 03/11. Surgery is next Monday. Fingers crossed that you get a fast approval too!

I have already submitted my documents to the insurance and I should have my answer by this Thursday. I call every weekday to make sure. I also have UHC Choice Plus. Here is what I had to do:

6 Month Doctor assisted weight loss program

Blood work

Chest X-ray

Psychological Evaluation

Nutritional Evaluation

Meeting with surgeon

Center of Excellence-surgery center

It actually only took 24hours. The surgeons office made a mistake on paperwork but once they submitted it on the 03/10 I had an approval by 03/11 at noon. My date is 04/11. My fingers are crossed that you'll get a FAST approval too!

To my surprise I thought my paperwork was submitted yesterday, but it was actually submitted on the 2nd. I'm praying I get the approval at some point this week,

I have UHC Choice plus and was told I ONLY needed to have my insurance for two years which was March 1st 2016. My bariatric DR required me to have the sleep study, psych evaluation, labs, stress test and pulmonary function test. I have completed all the appointments. How long did it take for UHC to approve your surgery if you DID not need 6month supervised diet?

Anyone using Titus Duncan in Atlanta or going through True Results? How long did it take between getting an approval and scheduling a surgery date? Did they submit your paperwork in a timely manner or did you have to keep checking up on them?
