  1. Thanks for the words, Long2bThin. That REALLY helps. I also have my surgery on Monday and it helps to here others experience. I'm looking forward to having this part behind me and moving on to eating right and exercising! Oh, to be healthy!
  2. Hi Everyone! I'm a pharmacist too, from Minnesota. I'm 44 years old, married to a wonderful man for 8 years, have a 23 year old daughter, 19 year old son, and 7 month old grandson (cute, cute, cute.....brown bear, I agree with you....being a grandma is unbelievable!) My surgery is Monday and I am very excited. I got my call from the admission nurse today and pleasantly found that I am way more excited than scared! I love reading all the stories of the folks that are post-op, as I have never had surgery and am a bit apprehensive. Nice to meet everyone.

Leepizz, thanks for the update. I get banded on Monday and it was really nice to hear someone elses experience before I go in. It was very encouraging! Makes me very excited!!! Good luck! I will be watching for more updates on how it is going! Take care.

    June line up

Each day gets easier, but I just keep thinking..."the closer I get to my surgery date, the closer I will be to getting to eat real food again"...granted I mean healthy food, but something solid, none the less! Heading to bed now...take care.

    June line up

Well, I guess that does make sense. Are you having to do a liquid diet? I have been on mine for a week now - would kill for some vegetables! lol

Bando - congrats to you! I have seen many people say they are going to Mexico to get this done. Why is that?

    Two week liquid dieters......

Don't have any advice for you - only myself and my husband. I CANNOT even IMAGINE having to cook at this point! This is the hardest thing that I have EVER done and can't imagine that stress. Good luck to you!

On the pre op liquid diet

I am on day 6 of my pre-op liquid diet and I agree - it's difficult! Actually, the hardest thing I have ever done. But, it was encouraging this morning when I got up, it was the first time since I started that I didn't wake up hungry. :-)
  12. Hi All, I am prebanding and have been reading many of the posts. A couple of questions have come up now. First, I have read about having the sleed study first and have seen several posts about it, but my doctor isn't having me do that. Thoughts? I even asked him if he could test for it and he said that he would do a pulse ox in the hospital. Second, I noticed that some folks said that they weren't required to do a liquid diet pre-banding. I am supposed to, which is fine. Just wondering why some do and some don't? Thanks for the insight!
