  1. Yes I've got lose, wrinkly old lady skin and I plan on getting a TT and not sure about what to do about my boobies but I went from a 40 H to a now 34 DD so I am glad I lost there it's just the loss of fullness I hate. I don't know if I want implants but that's a long time away. Anyways yes if you lose 100 pounds you'll have lose skin but the body is an amazing unit that with an open mind will surprise you! And like stated above it matters how long you were big and how heavy you were. Genetics help too! I have cheap Irish skin! Good luck!

  2. Your 5'3 I'm 5'2 and a little. My surgeon set his goal @ 150. I said 150-140 he said not any lower than 140. I'm at 135 now, :P... BMI charts say based on a small frame like mine I should be 108-121!! No way! I'd be skeleton at anything less than 120! So a I would think something in the range of 125-150 would be a good range. That's just me though!

  3. Thank you thank you all! I'm still shocked to this day when I look at the pictures side by side! I remember with tears in my eyes being on the other side just hoping that someday I could have a before & after not just a before. Now I have not one but 2 afters! (goals 1&2) everyone on that other side just keep your chin up and those that may be struggling or in a stall just keep focused you can & will succeed! Thank you all!

  4. Hello all,

It's been awhile. I lurk from time to time on my phone but I am not on here as much as I once was. Life and work is hectic but all around enjoyable. In the last 16 months of my life I have grown so much as a person in my personal life and also in my career. In the 16 months since my surgery and I am still loving my decision. I feel that with my weight loss I have been able to have the energy and confidence to accomplish all these changes in my life. In the last 4 months I have:

Reached and bypassed goal #2 of 140. I am currently at 135 and have even gotten as low as 133!

I weigh less than my husband and have and can wear his size 32 jeans! (I have not been able to do this since 2000)

Fit and successfully wear a SIZE 6 pencil skirt!! See picture below!!!!

**All of this WITHOUT a workout routine! Thank you SLEEVE!**

  5. I drink during my meals. I can't stand not drinking a at least a little when I'm eating. I'm afraid I'll choke! I have gotten an "rut row" feeling a time or two when I feel a slight push downward from the liquid hitting my food but I give it a minute and it passes. I've never experienced a time when I've drank while eating and ended up hungry soon after. I do drink a lot less than before my sleeve while eating but waiting 30 minutes, I just can't!

  6. You vixen you!!! You look so amazing. I love hearing how people are doing at a year or more out. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous pics!!!

    Anna

Well Thank you more for the post! I appreciate the comments and i can't wait to post my 140 pics sometime soon! Good luck to all and thanks again!

  7. First of all you look amazing! I can't believe you got so lucky with your arms, I was going to ask about your workout routine.

Even with the surgery, you should be very proud of yourself. It's nice to see that you can get lower and continue to lose or maintain that it seems it's kind about the way one continues to eat and excerise still.

Lol, thanks, no my arms are there! They are pretty flabby! My weight was/is concentrated in my boobs, butt, tummy,& thighs, my arms got chunky but never really big so they didn't have as much to lose as he rest of me :D I really seem to keep losing just fine, its kinda crazy, I'm getting to my 2nd goal of 140 pretty quickly. I do have to say I do get more hungry then I used to. But I keep myself in check as much as I can. I never deprive myself I eat like crap sometimes but I get back on track quickly. That's the beauty of the sleeve it gives you the choice to eat what you want and the option to change you decision if needed for the next time. Thanks for posting

  8. YAY YAY many congrats chickee, you look marvelous ! ! ! Keep it up, you'll hit that next goal in no time.

Tiff, it feels real good to "hear" that from Ms. Queen sleeve herself! You are the most inspiring person on here and I myself amongst others always look to you for advise, insight and the best darn before and after pictures on this site. Thank you for what you do!

  9. Thank you to everyone that has posted congrats and well wishes. For those whom are pre-op you will succeed because this surgery is a successful one. (of course there are exceptions).

I feel the reasons I have been successful despite not having a set workout regime are:

#1 My soul issue was I ate too much, besides too many carbs I ate pretty well thus the sleeve took care of that main problem.

#2 I was and still am not a sweets person. No addiction to pop or sodas for me. Once I got off the carb craze I felt the benefits of Protein I was hooked. I still have a weakness for garlic bread tho:)

#3 I have not been overweight all my life. Until bad birth control at 15 and pregnancy at 18 I was never overweight my whole life! I came into this world premature and severely underweight actually! I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be if I was at a BMI of 40 since I could remember.

#4 I was 27 when I had my surgery. Not to discourage anyone that is older but you know what they say about age and weight loss.......

Anywho- that's my take on this.

I feel though anyone with a great attitude can achieve success with this surgery. It helps to have a supporting people in your life. I did not get to my goal weight until I was 11 months out so make sure you pack patience! Easier to say then do, I know. Now I have a lot of stomach fat to go and stretched skin so I am still in size 10 even though I am 146. I *think* that wouldn't be so predominant if I worked out. but I know no matter what I'll need a TT. But, I can always try working out and see that's the great thing! Thanks again to all that may read!

    -Angela

  10. I plan on definitely getting a Tummy Tuck. The apron I have is very bad a noticeable. I've lost 74 pounds and still wear size 10 jeans because it's so large. I think I would be at least a size 8 or even a 6 without this apron. My breasts have deflated some but are still TOO BIG! I'm still in a DD from an H and I hate it! They sag but always kind of have been because of size. I'm thinking of a lift or slight reduction to a full C or D. BUT, until I pay of this surgery in 4 years I can't get anything done! but a "mommy makeover" is in my future!

  11. Maddie ~

Thank you! I appreciate your congrats and comments!

    Lil'miss ~

I'm not sure of the lingo lol, surgeversay, sleeversary I think they all are quite fine here! I'm not sure if I'm spelling them right lol!

Thanks for the comments hope the best with your surgeries!

  12. Hello everyone. My name is Angela and a year ago today I changed my life. I had the sleeve. As of today I have lost a total 74 pounds. I reached my initial goal of 150 about a month ago and now I am 146. My 2nd goal is 140 and I am only 6 pounds away! I am not sure how low I want to get but as of now it's still not a problem to lose. I have not started any exercise regimen this whole time I just eat well when I can and get out more. This surgery has been a complete success for me and I have had no complications. I do not post on here very much but I do linger from time to time for those with questions. Now for some picture whoring!

I've used this one before I don't have much for before.

I guess this is my "official" 1 year picture!

  13. Thank you for all the replies, wow what a lot of new faces on here! I cannot believe it's almost been a year! The restriction is what keeps me on the right track! I can eat more than when I first was fully healed but It has been enough to keep losing, slowly. One of these days I will start working out and who knows where I'll be! No less than 140 though, although I am short I do not look good less then 135-ish it makes me look gaunt. I think in the next few months I will see how close I can get to 140 and I know I will be happy there until I can get my TT which is at least 4 years down the road when I get this paid off.

To those in a stall from holy %$#@. I was stalled out at 160 for a very long time, I slowly creeped down to 153 where I sat for about 6-8 weeks, I honestly thought to myself, well Ang. this is it, this is where your helping hand stops. To my surprise the sleeve is still rocking! Too all that may read, don't underestimate yourself or this surgery!

And I found this picture of myself from May of 09' my husband said the other day how hard it is for him to see a difference sometimes, that is until I told him to look at this!

    April-June2009123-1.jpg

at least my hair looked good :)

    And today,

    7-4-2010004-1.jpg

  14. I haven't weighed myself in weeks. I was stalled at 153 for about 6-8 weeks, after the initial upset I just decided not to worry and just not weight myself! I decided to weight myself and exactly 11 months from my surgery here I am!

    150.jpg

Now a lot of people have met goal A LOT sooner then me, that's ok, I do not go to a gym, I do not walk for miles and miles, I'm just playing the what comes of comes off game, I do not deprive myself of food, I eat good, I eat bad. I don't stress. And here I am. Thanks

  15. There was somebody over at the OH boards who started at 190-something and lost to 110 in 7 months. When she wanted to stop losing she added in some calories and carbs. It's certainly possible to lose too much weight but you ought to be able to control it by eating more, and/or more high-calorie foods, and/or by cutting back on the cardio.

I'm a lightweight, too, and I want to get this weight off me as soon as possible! LOL

I was a lightweight: BMI of 40.2 5'2" 220 I had my surgery 7/30/2009 and so far I have lost approx 65lbs in 8 months I have about 5-15 to lose but I am cool with whatever- I haven't really started a workout routine so it's all good. If I get to 150 awesome, if I get to 140 fantastic! But it's all good either way!

  16. All I can suggest that you walk as much as humanly possible right now. It is amazing what that does for your recovery. I know this is the last thing that you want to hear but It will help. I had a freak out moment a few days after my surgery, I think it was mostly from the lack of food, and the discomfort gets to you after a few days makes you on edge, and you just give in. It will pass. Remember you've made it this far! Best wishes!
