At that stage I was shooting for 700-800 calories. It was hard to get that much in. I found if I did not try- I became very weak. GOod luck.

Hi Faybee,
We had the same date- ( sort of) 4 months out. Down total of 72 lbs. It feels good. Goal is at least 100 Ibs.
I keep telling myself that I need to take advantage of the honeymoon period. I want to lose as much as possible before the end of the honeymoon period.
You are doing great...

KittyCathy22, I want to apologize for piling on to your
topic. My response was not helpful at all,
I was having a pity party for myself stemmed by Mothers Day
weekend. This is a support forum, and I was not supportive.
As for you, I understand feeling blue from time to time, but if you have been in this state form more than a week, please contact a professonal that can help.
As for as support, there is much more to life than food. It takes some time to focus on these other things but it takes effort on your part. Get moving - excercise can truly
help. Even if it is walking around the block to get sunshine.
Another suggestion is to do something for someone else.
Taking our mind off our problems is helpful.
I have been on anti-depressents for years- if they are not taking effect, contact your doctor. They take about 3 weeks to kick in.
Lastly, focus on the reasons you had the surgery.. It was not to be able to eat the way you used to eat. It was to get healthy. THink of all the things you can do when you meet your goal. Focus on the prize. it is hard work, but you can do it. It is a mindset.
I will pray for you.. Best of luck to you..

The reason my doctor said I can not eat salad or anything too
fiberous is that my new stomach can't handle it. Same with a lot of fruit like apples or watermelon. Also, No nuts or popcorm for a long time. He says while the outside skin looks healed, the inside of my stomach takes up to 6 months to completely heal.

I think I am going though the same thing. I have started to see the weight come off, but the saggy skin is so ugly. I feel like that will continue even though I am working out 3 to 4 days a week. I think I have done too much damage to my body. I am 56 years old and my skin is not as flexible as it used to be. Feeling like I am having a pity party for myself today.

Hi There, I have lost a total of 55 lb since I started this journey. 25lbs since the surgery date.
I have stalled for the last week. Somewhat discouraging, but I know everyone goes through it.

I am six weeks post surgery and I am still struggling with fatigue. I am drinking my Water, getting in my required Protein and taking Vitamins. I think it just takes time for bodies to recover. I am trying to listen to my body more and not push myself. I do not want to get sick by overdoing it. Good Luck

I would not have been able to return to work after 5 days- I had no energy. I took off 2 weeks, that was hard but I managed

What tips or tricks would you share to achieve this amazing goal within 1 year?

You are an inspiration....

I filed for both STD and FMLA

To me, it is not worth to risk of expanding my stomach. My doc said that is one of the risk of drinking any soda.

My doc allowed m to go back to they gyn at 3 weeks post surgery. Limited to work my arms and legs. At 6 weeks, I can attempt to add abs in, but he said to listen to my body and be cautious working the abs.
-
Just say-" Bless you" and change the subject. People that do not have a weight problem do not know what to say. Expect that, and you will not get frustrated. Best of luck to you

There were a couple of early days post op where I questioned myself. I think that is gone now. I have optimism for a healthy future.

I am three weeks post surgery. My surgeon told me I could start going back to the gym this week. He asked that I do not do any ab work yet, but I can work my arms and legs.

Bedwards32, How are you feeling?

Dear Sleeve, I have to admit I am getting use to you. I have began to see benefits for having you around. 15 lbs in 3 weeks is pretty good. Sometimes I amaze myself that I had the courage to do this- but glad I did

Hi March Sleevers, How are you doing? I am down 85 lbs.. Happy as a clam. Best thing I ever did.
I have to admit- shopping is hard just because i don't know where the right size in the normal stores. For so many years- I had to shop in the large lady sections or stores.. It is an adjustment. QUestion for you- How did you come up with your goal weight? My Doctor gave me a goal of 80 lbs. I wanted to lose at least 100- if not 120... I just do not want to have my expectation to high. So it is a question of when I hit my re-set point.. Any thoughts on this subject for those that are 6 or more months post surgery?
