I'm semi-new to LBT but not new to forums in general. What is really irritating is trying to read through one long run-on sentence, poor capitalization, poor spelling, and no paragraphs! The no paragraphs are the worst as they are difficult to read. We have spell check, use it for goodness sake. Punctuation is good. I've come across quite a few posts that are long with poor spelling, punctuation and no paragraphs. They've been very hard to read. I hope I'm not alone in my thinking here. I'd just like to know when a thought ends and another one begins! Thank you for letting me rant, I'm done now.

A Few Tips From A Slow Loser - Now Past Goal -
jrob281 replied to NewSho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes! I used to hate ice cream, until I got pregnant with my now 14 year old. Then I'd go years without eating ice cream. For the past year, I've loved ice cream. I crave ice cream. Ice cream! I've even sabbotaged my weight loss with eating ice cream. So, in an effort to curb my craving for it, I found having a sugar free popsicle helps TREMENDOUSLY in that area. If one didn't do the trick, I wait about 10 minutes and have another. It works for me. -

Interesting conversation heard in the Drs office

Nope. Depends on how tall she was and if she had co-morbidities too. -
I have a feeling this was a rant but, it's really difficult to tell considering I can't see when one thought stops, and another starts. Please tell me where you are a "dds" so I can be sure to never go there!

Dr Chase (from Australia) in that particular episode was an extreme ass, which isn't the norm for him. The show really is well written but I think for that one in particular they were trying to show the various reasons why people are overweight: over eat, no exercise, medical reasons, etc.
-
Wow. I wasn't losing and was going back and forth between a few pounds too. My Dr said it was because I wasn't tight enough and gave me another fill. How many fills have you had?
-
I cannot eat any melted cheese. Cauliflower too.

Hi all, I'm brand new to this forum as of today. I live in Lansing and am going through Sparrow Weight Management. On Thursday I go in for my medical and behavioral assessments. Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes from that appointment to surgery? I know they'll require a 2 or 4 week liquid diet, (I forget which) beforehand. I chose lapband because I worry about the malabsorption possibilities with bypass. I was waivering until I read someone else's post. I think I'll be coming in here quite often and look forward to meeting/knowing many of you here.

The Ten Commandments of Healthy Weight Loss

Great post! Thank you for posting these. -
Are you following the band rules? Are you on liquids for 48 hours after a fill then moving to soft/pureeds working your way back up to regular foods? I had my second fill on Wednesday (banded April 28) and after a few bites of mashed otatos last night, I could not eat any more. I hopefully am at my sweet spot 5cc in 10cc band. (haven't changed my ticker yet)

I'm completely opposite. If I do not remember my dreams, I'm dragging all day. If I wake up and remember my dreams, I feel very rejuventated.
-
LOL well that makes sense! Don't know why that never dawned on me.

Hey all. Banded on April 28th, had one fill last month and going for fill #2 on Wednesday. I've gotten food stuck a few times and PB'd a time or two or ten. I realize I am still eating too fast and/or not chewing well enough. I'm starting to get really down and depressed. I have MS and it makes for exercising, even walking very difficult (causes lots of pain that I'd really rather not experience again). :crying: Does anyone have any suggestions besides going back on the 4 week liquid diet for kick starting my rear in gear and lose this poundage?
-
I have hardly lost anything at all (better than gaining!) since my surgery date, so for the fact I haven't gained, I will be happy for. I wish I could say I've lost more than 4 or 5 lbs since surgery, but I can't - yet. I really hope tomorrow will put me more on the fast track to weight loss. Putting this all down like this helps, that I'm certain about. RE: having to wait the 4 weeks; do you HAVE to wait 4 weeks? What happens if you gain, your Dr won't get you in sooner or anything?

Yeah the parathesia is awful after exertion, especially if it's hot out. If I walk around the block I'm not doing well the next day. So it sure makes evenings at the baseball field with my two year old watching my 14 yr old interesting. Have I thought about swimming? Yes. Have I actually gone and done it? No. Why? (warning whiny excuse coming) Because I don't have a suit that fits me and really don't want to shop for one. I should ask to borrow one or just suck it up and face myself. Yes, I certainly need to quit making all kinds of excuses and actually putting it all out there for the world to read and being called on it HELPS a LOT. Thank you. :cool2:

Thanks Shir. I will try frozen blueberries or cherries - love them both and never once thought of freezing them. I'm not much of a bread eater, never have been, never will, but thank you for the ham idea. I was thinking sandwiches were out of the question - realized I can roll up a slice of ham with a slice of cheese. I knew posting this would give me ideas!
