    Smart Thermos

Now I was curious. I looked it up. Doesn't work with Android. Seriously??? The whole world doesn't have iPhones...I much prefer my Galaxy.
  2. Please do! My C-section was fairly easy so I am hopeful that this will be too!
  3. So far unanimous and I am so glad to hear this! Thank you so much ladies!
  4. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I'm trying to follow all the rules now to make the transition easier. I drink a cup of green tea in the AM and then just add Water to the cup all day. It has a very slight tea flavor by the end of the day, but it is enough for me. I cannot stand the taste of plain water and do not enjoy Crystal Light much either. FYI - Jade Citrus Mint from Teavana is my tea of choice.

    Stress Test

My cardiologist required it also - just had my echo and stress test done today. I honestly didn't mind - if there was an issue I'd rather know it up front. I'm a type 1 diabetic so I usually assume I will undergo more testing.
  6. I'm still a newbie, but from what I've read, isn't it possible to have the bypass after the sleeve? I have seen others I think who did due to complications. If that's the case I would definitely try the sleeve first - nothing to lose - or everything I guess
  7. I was told no gummies too. I am on Flintstones (1 Vitamin now before surgery and will jump to 2 Vitamins a day 2 weeks after surgery).

    The truth is, I failed

I completely agree with this. Please seek a therapist. During my eval, the psychiatrist gave me the name of someone and urged me to call her immediately if I felt my food issues were going to sabotage my sleeve. I have also been urged to attend support groups - and I would suggest you do the same. Of course, take my advice with a grain of salt, as I have not been through it yet. But this is the information that I was given on my journey so far. I wish you all the luck in the world. I know you can pull through this and get back on track if you try.
  9. My nutritionist will have me starting the Flintstones Vitamins (2 a day) after week 2. I am on 1 a day now until surgery.
  10. My surgeon requires 1 day of liquid diet beforehand - just the day before. This is standard with all his patients. Good luck!

    Green Tea Tastes Like Feet

I am obsessed with the Jade Citrus Mint green tea from Teavana - it is heavenly! My absolute favorite tea ever!

    New Jersey Sleevers?

Is anyone on NJ Direct? I'm a teacher (considered a state employee) and starting to panic about the approval process. My doc seems to think it won't be a problem, but I'm a worrywart by nature. They will put in for approval on Monday after my 2nd nutritionist visit, and I'm hoping to hear soon afterwards. Otherwise I'll be stressing - and I'm definitely a stress eater - total irony!

    Anyone scheduled for March?

I am sure it will get more rigorous at that point, but she did refer to this as a pre-op diet. I will find out for sure on Monday. I heard from an outside source that I will have to do a low-fat diet 3 days ahead of time to shrink my liver, and pure liquids the day before surgery. I don't think they do anything really strict at my office, but they start early with trying to get us to eat well. My nutritionist appts are the only ones in this process that I like

    Insulin Pumpers having VSG?

    Any pumpers still out there?
  15. AmyQwith2

    Any Type 1 diabetics here?

I am a type 1 diabetic who is on a pump as well. I know I can't get rid of this pump, but will be happy to reduce my insulin needs. I am getting sleeved March 7th and am a bit worried about having to undergo additional tests due to the diabetes. My caridiologist has already done an EKG and ordered a stress test and an echocardiogram. Every doctor I see seems to want to tell me that this won't help my pump dependence - I get that they want to be sure I know that, but I am aware that my body doesn't make much insulin so I will never be without this pump. I couldn't find information on type 1 diabetics who've undergone WLS either - but ironically it was my endo who pushed me to go do it.

    New Jersey Sleevers?

Hi everyone! I'm in central Jersey too! Did anyone have experience with Dr. Sowemimo or at CentraState? Still waiting on insurance approval, but I'm tentatively scheduled for March 7th...

    Anyone scheduled for March?

Is anyone else on a pre-op diet yet? I called my surgeon's office today and they have my psych eval and my endo sent over a letter of medical necessity. My GP assured me they would send one over today too. Hoping to get insurance approval soon! Getting excited! I am not going to tell my kids until my approval comes through and I know it is definite -

    Anyone scheduled for March?

My nutritionist suggested I change my breakfasts to a Protein shake, but did not require it (BMI is 36.6 so she is not requiring it), I am doing Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch during the week, but did only breakfast this weekend. Nighttime is my bad time - I am having a hard time dropping the Snacks. She also wants me to follow the bariatric plate plan - and that is dificult for me too. I am hoping it gets easier as I go...so far it has been very hard. I do not do well with feeling hungry. Have you started any pre-diet?
