  1. I go to see my Bariatric surgeon tomorrow to review my clearances and submit the whole package to my insurance. I hope UHC approves me quickly. I'm so anxious and nervous! Please send positive vibes and prayers my way, if you pray. I really really want this and am looking forward to a YES APPROVED! here's ya surgery date. Lol
  2. Went and saw the surgeon for the 1st time last Friday. He gave me a check list to complete prior to my next appointment in March...basically I have to get clearances from my doctors, bloodwork, psych eval and nutritionist (only one NUT session though). I had 5 months of supervised weight loss done so my pcm will do this last one so I can submit it as well. My March appointment will be when we submit to the insurance for approval so please send some approval vibes, prayers and thoughts my way please
  3. Makes sense! I tried doing that when I 1st started this shift but then got confused on what to do on my days off when I sleep and get up like a regular person. I'll be trying harder to stick to midnight to midnight prior to getting the surgery so it becomes habit. Thanks for your response
  4. Sorry if this is a stupid question but you track from midnight to midnight in terms of calories/protein/water?
  5. Thanks so much for your response! Happy to hear that they like him and ever worked out so well. How long did it take you to get approved after submitting to insurance? Best of luck to you!
  6. @@lofairy Thanks so much for asking this. I'm in the process of getting approved but eating while working the overnight shift has stumped me, even now. I'm really concerned about when to eat after the surgery. I'm up most days by 1 pm but my shift doesn't start until 9 pm and ends 8 am.
  7. Tampa here - hoping/believing to schedule my sleeve surgery soon!
  8. Edited to add: Tentatively scheduled for 4/20/16. I'm in New Tampa
  9. Hey all! Has anyone used Dr. Chavda, located in Brandon, FL? Any experience with the Brandon Regional Hospital? I saw him for my 1st consult and he seems pretty competent and thorough. Online reviews are positive. Just wanted to see if anyone had used him and what they're experiences were.
  10. I'm in Tampa! I have my consult this Friday so I'm hoping to have a date within the next couple of weeks. Congrats on your date/surgery!
  11. Thanks y'all! I'll be asking at the appointment next friday. I hope I can use my psychiatrist- would make life easier
  12. Told I was prequalified and assigned a very nice nurse advocate. I've sent in my weight loss records and made the consult appointment for next week... Whew, I'm a nervous wreck --- can't wait to get through the psych evaluation, get really approved and schedule a surgery date. Quick question though, if I already see a psychiatrist, can I use them for an eval?
  13. Good luck! Keep in touch and I hope your surgery is quick and uneventful
  14. Definitely know the feeling. Learned the hard way to just keep my mouth closed about my sleeve plans. Some ppl don't or won't understand and that's fine but I'm not gonna let it affect me too much. It's my life snd body so they can kick rocks ***hugs***
  15. I woke up gasping and choking but I didn't think there was anything to it. Doc said that daytime exhaustion, moodiness, confusion, etc are signs of apnea too
  16. Praying and hoping for good news!
  17. Hey guys! I've been lurking and enjoying reading everyone's post and approvals! what a way to start the new year Got diagnosed with sleep apnea - never been more excited to hear I have a disease LOL. Well now with sleep apnea qualifying me for the surgery, I officially have a case manager and will speak with her on Friday to get more information about this procedure, next steps, etc. The UHC Bariatric resource services representative was very helpful too - nice to get information and all of that good stuff with no pressure. Woooot! Totes excited and hope this is a relatively quick process! Just wanted to share that lil tidbit...
  18. How's your journey, llsp? It's really just starting, I'm not even sure I feel like I'm on a journey yet. I will tell you though for the first time in a long time I am really optimistic about the future and looking forward to something. It sounds so weird to be 'excited' for surgery but I read so many uplifting posts here with different peoples successes and I'm excited for all of us! I had my third of 6 monthly check-ins in December so I am getting closer. I actually gained weight from my first weigh-in to my second so my goal right now is to work to shave off those 6 lbs for my next visit. Awesome! Wish you best of luck. I'm just hoping for an approval year too. Here's approvals, successful surgeries and losing weight!
  19. I'm in Tampa too!! Who is your surgeon? Hey!!! I'm still in the beginning stages, trying to get approved. Who are you using?
  20. @lisp I'm going to try and get my doctor to refer me out to get the sleep study done to see. I'm prediabetic according to the latest blood work but I'm not sure if that qualifies as a CM
