  1. Thank you all! I am feeling better today. It’s just difficult at times because I was so used to be independent. I am kinda a control freak and when things are outside of my control it drives me a bit crazy, especially when it comes to healing. So I have transitioned my attentions to being sure I am taking enough protein daily and keeping track of my drain output diary. I need to chill lol. I did have a successful shower and nap yesterday. My incisions look good. My drain is putting out less so I am hoping possibly at some point this week that can come out. Here is my day 11 post op progress pic.
  2. In less than a week I’m going to have my lower body lift with the Dr Cardenas team. I am beyond excited. Has anyone else been to her lately? I’d love to hear your experiences.
  3. I’m opposite I was very verbal with my choice for weight loss surgery and plastic surgery. Though I didn’t say anything till after the procedures were already done because I wast interested in defending my decision or hearing others opinions on why I shouldn’t have things done. I think plastic surgery is something harder to hide. I wish the best for you though.
  4. Update ten days post op. One drain out and one still putting out at least 40-60cc of fluid. I am feeling stronger as each day goes by. Still not able to eat a lot at any given time. It’s been my mission each day to get in enough calories and protein to facilitate healing. I think my swelling is pretty well controlled, I am going to tighten my compression garment by one hook as the loosest seems to be getting too loose. It’s been so weird the faint feeling with taking off the garment before my shower. I’ve been also trying hard to make sure I am hydrated so there is less chance of that fainting happening. My pain is pretty well controlled. I really only feel sore, not so much pain, if that makes sense. Still walking hunched over, it’s killing my back. Can’t wait to walk more up right. Here’s some pics from the other day.
  5. Life being at home has not been as easy as expected. It’s been a lot on my husband and kids. We have four children so it’s like having a fifth with him caring for me. Wondering if I should have extended my stay at the recovery house. I fainted today. I think my blood pressure dropped being out of my garment for a shower. It felt awful. I was nauseated after. Some water helped so much. Post op passing of number two was rough too. Today has worn me out!
  6. I would not be able to give you that info. Your best bet would be to refer to her office staff who could provide you with accurate information.
  7. Everyone should have a belly button, though I cannot speak for others surgeons work. The surgeon just detached my old one and pulled it through to the new abdomen skin. Yes she did lipo the pubic area. It was too poofy. Yes I’m coming back in a few months for boobs and arms.
  8. It took me a year to lose 130 lbs. in my humble nurse opinion it is best to do something like this after having children and when you are close or at your goal weight. The first year you go through a lot of changes. The most critical months are the ones when you are fresh post op. It is necessary to develop and maintain good nutrition habits. I wish you luck and all the best! Congrats on your surgery!
  9. Everyone here for my stay is female. I think male patients are not as common. They make sure to make everyone’s stay a comfortable one. If there was a male, they have different rooms. They have thought of everything. Well worth the money and a safe investment in assuring your body recovers.
  10. No boobs or arms. Just lower body lift through dr. Cardenas. My cost was 11k. I also got a modest amount of lip filler. I love it!
  11. I am at the recovery house now. And it’s far superior than any hotel. You are going to need the help. It’s like a family here. Everyone is very friendly. It’s so very comfy here. It’s reassuring talking with a roomie who’s going through the same things. I’ve not had any problems and after having it this way I’d not prefer it any other way. I say this as a current patient and a nurse.
  12. Generally less than the u s and definitely less than California. I’ve seen body lifts go for as much as 50k in the u s and as little as 5 k in Mexico. Do you research and ask a lot of questions.
  13. What I have found is that they would only pay solely for the panniculectomy. Unless you’re paying for some extra out of pocket it’s just removing the extra apron type skin. I am getting a full lower body lift in Mexico in about a week. It’s includes the tummy tuck and muscle repair and the extras to make it look really nice. The insurance looks to fix the immediate problem, hangy skin they don’t care about the aesthetic part because that is cosmetic and not medical in nature. I hope this helps.

Exact same thing here. It’s getting to where I can pinpoint my start date. Lol
  15. So I spoke with the kind lady at Beauty Enhance after the doctor reviewed my photos and made a recommendation. I decided to go with a royal lower body lift for the first procedure in my journey. I scheduled for this fall. I am beyond excited! Trying to think how I break this news to my boss....

  17. I know it's a bit early to be thinking of what I should bring with me for my lbl with dra Cardenas but I like to think ahead. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  19. They had a special on her site for 10,500 for the royal body lift package. Starting was 266 Goal is 130 Right now 146 I'm still losing but have slowed a lot. I have so much extra skin though it is ridiculous.
  20. Yes they gave me a very thorough quote. I talked it over with a lady in their office.
  21. I am not sure about speaking with her prior to surgery. I would assume at some point this would happen. Probably closer to actual surgery. I sent in my deposit today.
