  1. I am on 2 protein shakes and 3 small meals at about 2 oz each
  2. Question on surgery recovery... I am now over a week out from surgery but the last two days I have required a nap. But earlier in the week I could not wait to get back to work. Is anyone else more tired the further out.
  3. Who set your goal weight? My doctor did not give me one but asked what I expected. I gave a weight range which I guess was realistic but if we go with stats I would still be overweight but because of how I store fat it will probably be ok
  4. Today is day 7 after surgery for me I am so excited to get to have a little solid food. I have been obsessed over sugar free Popsicles the last few day just to have something to chew. This morning plan 1 oz of cottage cheese and 1 oz of banana
  5. I am able to drink a lot and hold fluids like I am easily getting 70 oz. I understand thinking you are eating/ drinking too much. I have not weighed because of that fear and thinking of the suffering day after surgery just not being worth it. I have still just been eating broth no soup. I am with you on the incision right at the belly button... That is the one that still hurts and be magnified by a sinus drainage cough.
  6. I feel so strange. I have not weighed in since my required preop diet.... I think I will wait until the first of the month
  7. My surgery was Thursday and so far everything appears to be going ok except loss stool. I know TMI. My abs feel like I have done 1000 sit-ups. Those that are a little a head of me are you still experience this feeling.
  8. Today is the day. It dark and early. Did not sleep much but hoping to make up for that in a few hours.
  9. It is funny. I actually practiced being on the preop diet so I knew I could do three days of it. I am on day one of the real one and today I believe I am hungry. What is the magic day to get past on the pre-op diet.
  10. Tomorrow is surgery day. I am less anxious today then I have been now to get the 34 oz of liquid down between now and bed time And then up all night in the bathroom
  11. Good Luck! tomorrow...I am Thursday morning I have to leave my house at 5:15 AM

    Shakeology after VSG?

As many shakes required per day that is an expensive option
  13. Good luck to you having surgery today. I expect this board may be quite for a little while. Today I start my preop diet. I am somewhat looking forward to it.
  14. I am with you... I don't get up Very easily so having to be at the hospital at 6 am makes me nervous. I look at it like having an early morning flight. I don't sleep well the night before scarred I am going to oversleep and miss my flight time. In this surgery time.... It looks like most people in this group will have their surgery at the point I start my preop.... I hope you all check in on Wednesday and say what a cake walk it has been... If not wait until Thursday[emoji85]
  15. Congrats... I am schedule for next Thursday. It seems surreal that I will be one day sleeve next week.
  16. Thanks all for the words that I am not alone. I know I over analyze things.I feel like God told me to do this so I should be confident that things will turn out fine. Most of you will be safely at home next week and starting your new normal
  17. I'm pretty scared/anxious. I've been taking a lorazepam to go to bed each night for the past 2 nights. Things I'm scared about include: the surgery itself; the recovery and potential complications, and hair loss (I have thin, fine hair to begin with and really can't afford to lose any). My surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet until 24 hours before so I a bit nervous about what Sunday is going to be like. I'm also scared about the social repercussions as I have a lot of friends that I haven't told. With all that said, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I thought about this decision for a year before I made it and slowly started the process. And I have such bad osteoarthritis and plantar fasciitis with a lot of pain and mobility impairment (esp. now that I can't take NSAIDS before surgery or afterward for awhile). I'm so hopeful that once I lose a significant amount of weight I might actually be pain-free or at least have greatly reduced pain and greatly improved mobility. I'm also looking forward to smaller size clothes options, let's be real here. But health is my main motivator. I'm in my early-mid 40s and I without taking this step, I can't imagine what the next half of my life (one can only hope) would look like. So, I'm as ready as I'll ever be! [/quote I have been feeling a lot of anxiety as well and started wondering. Why I am doing this. I have wondered if having that two week pre-diet gives you something to have to focus on instead of surgery anxiety. I know the pre-op diet is bad and I have my three preop days coming soon. I think I am actually looking forward to it. I hope I have a very energizing weekend. I have a ton I need to do to make sure things are prepared for the next 14 days.
  18. Hey thought I would see if anyone out here from Pensacola, FL... If there would be interest in developing a walking group?
  19. I have a surgery time but I don't know what time I have to be at the hospital...mine is at 9 so I am pretty sure I will be at work the hospital at7:30 if not earlier..... The earlier the better since no liquids that morning. Is there anyone else that does not require a 2 week preop diet!?

    Thursday is the day!

I was hopping to do that but I am so tired but my surgery is still 2 weeks away,
  21. sorry for your loss... Something I try as an alternate copping method is coloring or puzzles.... That sometimes is difficult because you will be in a "social" situation along with emotional.
  22. I have to do 3 days but on my first consult they stated 4 days but I did lose 30 pounds on supervise weight lifting loss. This includes 3 shakes a day and clear liquids.... I think I can make it 84 hours before surgery... I practiced during weightloss trial
  23. Wow! so am I.....well I'm in Middleburg. My surgery will be at St Vincent's in Riverside. My surgeon is Dr. Uchal. Where is your surgery going to be? Small world!!! I am just down the road a little bit West on I-10 in Pensacola, FL...so an Florida-Alabamian verse Florida-Georgian
