Welcome to this site and best of luck with your surgeries.
As the OP has noted, the gas pain can be uncomfortable. Walking helps. I also used a heating pad.
    It does get better.

I loved liquids stage!!! Hated pureed. Everything smelled bad to me, icky texture, got sick a few times and was so fatigued I had to nap everyday and go to bed early. I didnt want to eat at all b/c I could feel every bit go down. I hated the sensation of it. Liquids were a breeze and still use Protein Shakes at least once a day. I talked to my nurse and just concentrated on getting down foods best i could. Didnt worry about Protein Powder. Im now on soft foods and eating is so much better. I still dont really enjoy it but there are more choices. Everyday gets better and easier and I can make peace with this new way. I have mad support from my parents and mom made crockpot chicken for xmas dinner and sugar free pudding parfaits with sugar free strawberry wafer Cookies. And an egg/cheese/mushroom casserole for Breakfast. All of it was really good. It can be done!!!! I love being on here. Congrats to all of you!

Hi everyone! I'm scheduled for sleeve surgery on January 4. So far, the process has been very informative and exciting. I'm nervous, scared, and excited. I had to overcome my ego and pride to schedule my surgery and that in itself was a journey. I felt like I was taking a shortcut to weight loss before I learned and researched how this is a tool. I also took my best friend's advice that the surgery is going to help me sprint into the process but reaching the goal is going to involve my mindful commitment. I'm ready for the sprint and the long haul!
My reasons for choosing this path is very similar to others... To feel better and have more energy are top of the list. One thing I struggled with throughout all the yo-yo dieting was the idea that losing weight is the golden ticket to all the happiness in the world. On the flip side, I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends. I like the work I do and have the ability to connect with people everyday. So, my hopes for post surgery are that I will live a healthier and longer life to be able to stick around with the people I love and those who love me.
Despite being friendly and gregarious, I'm a pretty private person and have kept the circle of people "who know" very small. However, I was happy to find this app and hope to be able to tell people my story.
I picked up the trend over all the research so here are my stats: currently, 320 lbs with goal weight of 165-175 lbs. I'm a big boned 5'7 woman and I don't find being a stick figure attractive at all. I have been told that I'm very competitive in business so I'm hoping to apply some of that into maybe playing sports... I am definitely going to give running a real shot.
Currently, I'm fighting a terrible cold and hope to get all better before surgery.
I would appreciate your thoughts and positive vibes and wish everyone Happy Holidays and a prosperous 2016!

Hi! I was sleeved on 12/17. I've been okay. I struggled a little with Christmas and all the smells of goodies and food. My husband took me to the movies today and for the first time in years I fit comfortably in the theater seat! I'm not gonna lie, I cried a little bit. I know it doesn't sound like much to some but I was reminded of why I did my surgery in the first place!
After being off for 11 days I return to reality tomorrow aka work. I'm a little nervous of how my new diet will effect me. I'm on Phase 2 so full liquids.
Any advice to carry me through the next few days would be great! ????

My date is January 4th too!!!! The really strange thing is that I woke up this morning feeling like I'm coming down with a cold. I am terrified that if I do it will postpone my date. I am trying to find out the best things to do, just in case. I'm going to running to get OJ and maybe some Airbornne or Cold Eeze tomorrow morning. I hope I can take Airbornne or Cold Eeze!?!?!? I need to find out.

Good Luck!!! Had my surgery 10/28 and have so much more energy and down 40 since surgery you are going to feel great. It is hard at first getting Protein Drinks and Water in but slowly gets easier and you just need to be patient. You are doing what is best for YOU and will do fantastic. Sending prayers and good vibes your way!!

Hi Everyone! I'm scheduled for surgery on Jan 4. Sarasleeve, congratulations on going forward with the surgery.... I think being unsure of it is very natural because I feel the same way. Reading everyone's success stories (and the ugly stuff) have helped me. I'm very nervous and excited about the surgery. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how you feel afterwards. All the best for a brand new you in the New Year!!
