  1. Kate, I was told to get vitamin b12 and vitamin d3 both I got from Holland and barret in a oral spray form. I had a chewable multivitamin but as mentioned didn't have zinc so will look out for the centrium in Tesco.
  2. Hi I'm about 5 days post op and have the strongest desire to chew something/anything. I'm on liquids and jelly and yoghurt don't really cut it for me, and have been advised against gum, does any one have any recommendations.

    Purees?

I was told by my dietician to spread my protein shake through out the whole day, as liquids can go straight through our stomachs you probably miss the satisfaction of being full, but I Gather from other topics here the restriction feeling sometimes isn't felt in the liquid stage. Also you may have some head hunger. Persevere with your sips x
  4. That is a good point to! But I guess it's natural to miss the things you can't do It's very natural. Very understandable. I was the same way. Your life is about to change and your menu items with be tremendous in scope. Just hang in there a while longer.......just a little while longer. It'll get much, much better. You have the rest of your longer & leaner life to chew your back out. You are just in that phase where your new stomach needs to heal and mend. My Calcium citrate chews were really nice during that period. Gave me something to look forward to chomping on. Bariatric Advantage Chewy Bites. The fruit flavors are like eating Starburst candy.....no kidding. Hang in there.....you are going to profit mightily from being patient now. Truth spoken there !!!! Can also do damage to the new stomach. Sure as heck don't want to do that. Are these something I can find in the uk I have oral sprays for my Multivitamins the chewable ones i found did not contain zinc so found a liquid solution instead?
  5. I'm on liquids for 6 weeks, I'm going to try with the ice, I just manage the hot liquids better.
  6. I did ask for suggestions, I think 5 days past op would be very premature for anything solid!
  7. That is a good point to! But I guess it's natural to miss the things you can't do
  8. I thought ice would do but I find cold fluids are not my friend so I have a lot of hot milk and soup but I will persevere and try the ice x

    Loose skin after surgery

Hi I'm also worried about lose skin, I was sleeved on the 18/12 so only a few days out have been instructed to walk 30 mins briskly twice a day and so little hand weights for my arms! People are all different but there are many things you can try or do, for example dry body brushing, keeping your skin well hydrated and loads of Water, supplements for skin and lots of exercise! Unfortunately is the lesser of two evils
