    Well that's an interesting development.

I hadn't heard of it either. Though when in hospital with the heart attack they did take a pint out with the reason, your blood is too thick. That with an IV of blood thinners going. Rather unpleasant as they took it one vial at a time because i was on thinners. All will be well I'm no stranger to hurdles. I'll take and clear this one the best I can

Oh yeah. Not complaining. Treatment literally is having a pint of blood or so taken out every couple of months. I don't mind that. My fear of needles had to be left behind when i got my first tattoo.

I had one night around a week out where i got a horrific cramp just below an incision. Sharp searing aggravating pain. Mine was self caused by reaching down to my feet to drag the covers up. It's still delicate @3weeks

    Walking hurts for how long?

They gave me a couple of belly bands to help when i was in the hospital. They are a nuisance and not very comfy but what a difference they made in being able to walk and stay upright

    Eating problem after surgery!

3 weeks out yesterday. I was/am a gulper on liquids. Sips just annoy me. Luckily ive found that i can take 2-3 swallows at a time and be just fine. As far as appetite i don't really have one now either. I've switched from hunger to mild nausea if i go too long between meals

    Gas?

So far everything from water on up does it for me.
  14. For me it was 1 get on the table 2 listen to the chat 3 they put the mask ok 4 start getting light headed 5 wake up in recovery with no sense of time passed. 6 listen to the nurses tell you how to work the pump etc. 7 deal with the gas and pain

    Hospital bag

A stick so you can whack whoever wanders in at 3 am. Seriously i wanted nothing so much as sleep and that just wouldn't happen.

    I've decided to live.

    4 days post op

I had/have something similar with gas pains. It's a sharp pain in my lower chest. Sometimes just below the breast bone, but sometimes all the way up to my shoulders. Right after surgery when I was so pumped full of gas I had that and muscle spasms around the incisions that gave me this sharp but distant ache in the same place.

2 days postop... How did you feel?

I'm on day 7 now. The first couple of days, were ugh. but like people say, it gets steadily better. I get to move on to pureed stuff tomorrow. Woohoo. Woke myself up by turning over too fast this am and had a sharp "tug" thing happen. weirded me out. Called the docs and they said to watch it. The usual culprits. fever, nausea, pain, etc and get thee to an ER. none of that happening though. guess i just pulled on something

    Taking sips?

I just finished day 5 and had a woops moment. I turned up a bottle of Water and took about 3 pre-op swallows. It was a little heavy and uncomfortable but I wasn't immediately stuck trying to puke up my toenails. I know going into this I had a real worry that i would be taking 1cc sips of liquid for the rest of my life. I wouldn't suggest doing it as soon as you wake up post op, but it looks like an actual swallow or two at a time isnt armageddon.

2 days postop... How did you feel?

I apologized to her beforehand about whatever innapropriateness i was about to spout. She being a devil woman promptly got out every recording medium she could lay hands on. I just hope i didn't tell that one nurse or visitor or whatever she was to shut up. Good lord i was about to crawl over there and stuff her head full of gauze so i could drift off. Recovery rooms must move at 99% the speed of light because every minute is an eternity.

2 days postop... How did you feel?

Too many situps is a good description. I think they had to move me around to some odd positions. ( to take selfies with ). This is midnight so day 4 just ended for me. No pain meds needed since my first night home for me. Mostly now it's gas pain. I still have some soreness and weird painful tugging sensations when I sit still too long or stretch. This is a rather long first hand account of my wake up time. So when I first woke up, it was an, "Oh crap this isn't good moment." Me being an idiot in general I decided I was having gas pains and was going to flop over on my left side. Numerous voices told me not to. I did it anyway. I have a lovely 4" wide bruise where the IV used to be. Once I was settled down and lucid enough to get handed the little magical clicker I played that sucker like I was keith moon. They asked me about it later and I said sorry, I wasn't sure I was actually hitting the button, so I'd click it a few extra times to make sure. Someone handed me my phone during this stage. I'm guessing my mother as she was the only person within a hundred or so miles who knew me. So I began sort of the ultimate in drunk text a thon 2016. I did that for a while, and eventually settled in on one particular target who told me to bother her when I was waking up as she has had similar procedures done and would lend a sympathetic ear. And that she would save my drugged up ramble-a-thon for a particularly embarrassing review later on. Challenge accepted. Most of my pain during that phase I'm pretty sure was gas pain. Then they got me back to that room and the soreness set in. It's like too much too strenuous exercise. Too many sit ups. The day after your first big hit in football practice for the year. The day after shoveling your driveway.

    Feb 2 surgery

Looking back.... The most useful thing would have been a long stick of some sort to poke people who came to wake you up at 3 am.

2 days postop... How did you feel?

Was sleeved the 28th. The pain took me by surprise. I was expecting the gas and nausea. Not the hips knees thighs... Day 4 now and things are improving but i still burble like a potheads garage.

    Loose Skin

I suspect that with my size, I will look something like Droopy Dawg. Only... everywhere. I'll fight it, but worth it for me.
