    Post Your Silly Rant

CHM RIGHT!!! and my frustration is mean people.!! There vented!! Sorry you don't agree Sent from my SM-G930T1 using the BariatricPal App You seem to have missed that I did not comment on your rant in any way. You are entitled to vent your frustrations here like everyone else. What I was commenting on was your judgement of others for doing the same. On a side note: It seems that in my original post I have inadvertently credited @@KristenLe with stating something that was actually said by Syl 153, and I don't know how to fix it. Sorry!

    Post Your Silly Rant

You've stumbled upon a rant thread in a rant forum. This is hardly the place to be singling anyone out for their choice of words. The whole point here is to vent your frustrations, not to watch your tone. Just sayin'...
  6. @@Syl 153 Please stop spamming the thread with your dozen single posts and counting. Just a couple of tips for replying to multiple people in a thread: - You can use the multi-quote feature to quote and reply to several posts at once. - The posts that do not include a quote should include a mention (the @ symbol followed by the username of the person you're addressing), as they are clearly directed at SOMEONE. Don't assume that anyone will take the time to scroll back in the thread to re-read and see who's post your comments might apply to. As tone can be difficult to decipher in text, I will make clear that I'm not being snarky. I'm just trying to save you some time and those of us following the thread some frustration. Thank you.

    Food

Hmm...perhaps I'd best back out. As familiar as I may be with Walmart's food selections (given that it had been my primary source of groceries for the past 10 years) I am not at all familiar with a1c levels, what is involved with lowering them, or what should be included/avoided while attempting to do so. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in soon. Best of luck to you!

    Slider foods?

@@leebick Thank you for asking this. I didn't know what slider foods were either, but it never occurred to me to just ask. I just assumed 'junk'.
  10. Yes. Get it. SO worth the investment. I posted in another thread yesterday about how the charcoal grill was one of the items I miss most that was left behind in my recent move. As true as that is, the vacuum sealer EASILY tops that list. It will be replaced the precise moment that I have the extra money to do so. When I would get home from the grocery store with all of my Proteins, I would take the time to portion them off into individual 'me'-sized servings and vacuum seal each one. This not only made sure that food prep was quick and easy, but ensured that nothing went to waste. One serving of each would go into the fridge (and last way longer there than they would have had they been packaged any other way), and the rest went into the freezer. As I used a serving of something from the fridge, I would replace it with a serving from the freezer, so I always had options ready to go. Proteins aside, it is also obviously useful for saving things that would have otherwise been tossed, such as the other half of an avocado. I also used it regularly to freeze half of my egg muffin batches, as I couldn't eat 24 of them before they started to dry out. Seriously. VERY highly recommended.

    Sleep study?

My insurance required one as well,. but fortunately I'd already done one earlier in the year. My doctor had suspected sleep apnea. I did not have sleep apnea. I spent 7 hours with the lights out, and I'd have guessed I'd slept for 5 of those hours. Apparenty I was only in any stage of sleep for a combined total of 1 hour and 24 minutes.

Eww, mango. I don't know if I can deal with that one... What????? Don't like mango?? But how? Huh? You are so cool I automatically thought we could be mango buddies.../ maybe sisters? It's all so crazy! I guess we are a certain kind of folk.... Huh... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Maybe I've just never had a decent one. I AM in the great white north after all. But it doesn't mean we can't be friends. Just because KF tosses people aside at the slightest discrepancy doesn't mean you have to... Dislike. There needs to be a dislike button.

  19. I remember that taste, and I was indeed told that it was ketosis. No matter how long or how often I brushed my teeth it would never fully go away. Until it did. And it will for you. I don't remember when exactly it was. One day I just realized that it had passed. I know it was still there 2 weeks out (looking back on chat records I'd asked a friend who'd had bypass about it around that time), but I believe it was gone by the one month mark.

@@LipstickLady Your prayers have been answered...here comes the underachiever to make you look even better!!! Another cat hater here. I don't do litter boxes. Or fur everywhere. Or thin, sharp claws. Or thin, sharp claws massaging my leg. Shall I go on? I can! And I'm sorry guys, but I HATE reality TV. Like, as in change the channel when even just the commercials for them come on kind of hate. I'll not pick them apart - to each their own. But they are not my own. I'm more into the crime based drama/comedy scene. I have no kids. It took years and years to settle on a side, but in the end the fact is that I just don't like them. And I don't want them. So much so that I ended a 10-year marriage over it (primarily anyway). I've not been to college. I couldn't decide if I wanted to be a lawyer, pastry chef, architect, or fashion designer, but I knew I didn't want to spend - and potentially waste - the money until I figured it out. I never figured it out. I have a terrible sense of humor, courtesy of a very literal and analytical brain. Barring the rare person who jokes in a way that I simply 'get', things tend to go right over my head. I'm the d0uche in the group who picks apart the joke's likelihood before realizing that everyone is staring at me and wondering if I'm for real. I am stubborn as hell when it comes to how to do things properly and efficiently. I have zero respect for the "because that's the way its done" arguement. You have to tell me WHY that way is best. Failure to appeal to my logic will result in me continuing to do it in the way that makes sense to me. I am the queen of typos. Seriously. If I didn't proof-read every sentence as I typed it, followed by every paragraph as I finished it, followed by the entire post twice before submitting it, followed by another edit or two after posting...yeah...my sh*t would be illegible. I am also constantly evaluating my grammar and choice of wording. I am the absolute worst liar. I'm virtually incapable of doing it in person. If an untruth is necessary, I either need to tell it indirectly (text, or possibly over the phone if I'm not emotional and can keep my voice normal), or find a kernel of truth to milk for all its worth. But if I lie and you can see my face? Yeah...game over. I am a dual Canadian/US citizen. I speak Canadian but spell American. I am a great cook AND a great baker. Cooking was learned out of necessity in my pre-teens, courtesy of food Network. My brothers and I laugh endlessly about our mother's horrible culinary skills. On the savory side anyway. Baking, by contrast, was passed down, and is quite the family art. Particularly cake decorating, which I hate doing even though I'm told that I'm quite good at it (okay fine, I know I'm good). I love to research things. Or should I say, I am an avid Googler. There is nothing I won't look up, and no time I won't look it up. I regularly awaken and reach for Google in the middle of the night to answer some random question that has popped into my head. It is by far one of the most used apps on my constantly-in-use phone, second only to the one that lets me talk to my boyfriend all day. I like to know sh*t, dammit! I love to sing. REALLY loud. Just as long as no one is around to hear it. Oh, and I think straws are good. Period. Oh come on, we all knew that one was making an appearance somewhere...
