    What to eat

i don't like to cook so I do rely on a lot of premade food. My #1 and 2 go tos are the grilled chicken strips and chicken burgers from Applegate Organics and Brat Hans. More sodium than if you made it yourself but less than a lean cuisine. I eat the strips cold and the burgers go in the microwave for 1 minute. Easy to portion dense lean protein and I don't have to cook or clean a thing. Just a suggestion!
  2. It's kind of funny that the forum mod literally called the OP a troll and then came back later to admonish everyone for using the word troll. This forum cracks me up.
  3. I have my 3 month check-up tomorrow. Down nearly 50 lbs since surgery day. Better yet I lost a whopping 8 inches from my waist, 5 inches from my thighs! Shopping is fun again. Everything is fun again. I have to figure out how to post pics so I can show off. The ego boost is real.

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

@@La_Strega_Sa 3 months out and no issues or complications so far. Knock on wood!
  5. Having spent time in Korea myself I will say that it doesn't surprise me one bit that surgeons are willing to perform the sleeve on very low BMI patients. The most appearance obsessed place I have ever been. Not an unexciting thread at all by the way, carry on.
  6. @@Babbs fine! I'll take my sympathy back. LOL
  7. My mother had a lift done in April with lollipop scars and they've already faded. She also had that droopy underarm bit that all women have taken care of. Looks great! She went from an E cup to a small D. Doesn't even have to wear a bra most days.

    Incisions

Mine started to itch badly about 2 1/2 weeks post-op. It went away after about a week.
  9. Despite the trolling, there's some really great insight and experiences recounted in this thread. Helpful for those of us who are looking ahead.

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I'm now 5 feet and 168. I feel so much better! Still a long way to go. The weight loss is so notable on us shorties. My best friend of 20 years didn't recognize me from behind the other day.
  11. At 3 months out I wake up with gross breath fairly often still. I think it is ketosis as well. I just carry mouthwash around and I also brush more often. It's yucky but I'm dropping weight so I'll deal.
  12. I feel sympathy for anyone who can't even FATHOM that someone could have a support system outside their immediate family they can lean on for help and questions like these. What a weird thing to get worked up about. Anyway- just want to chime in that your friend's daughter might want to get a blood test for celiac. The leading celiac researcher in NYC says they are seeing way more obese celiacs in the last few years and the longstanding wisdom that celiac causes weight loss has been challenged. Just a simple blood test and one more thing to rule out. I'm a fat celiac myself!
  13. You can't imagine drinking a glass of good full bodied red wine slowly? Or sipping a peaty scotch? You must drink cheap booze.

    Facial hair *women only

My laser clinic says they won't treat most facial hair in women because if the cause is hormonal- the lasers won't work. I don't have facial hair but I have a funny manly dark patch that grows on my upper back that they refused to laser. Started growing in about 2 years ago as I rapidly gained weight. I get it waxed and sometimes I epilate. I was hoping it would go away with weight loss but I'm only 3 months out and can't tell yet.
  15. Marijuana and ginger have both been my go to nausea cures. I'm really prone to motion sickness and it's worse when there's not much food in your stomachs. Pot works immediately and ginger takes a little longer. When I was in Colorado a store there sold a medical marijuana ginger tincture that was ideal. Not enough pot to get you high but it worked on the nausea. Wish I had bought a second vial because I used the first one up.
  16. I didn't tell anyone. There was a very brief period immediately post op where going out socially would have been a struggle for me. Just a few weeks, if that. Now at 3 months post op I go out all the time, I order healthy Proteins and veggies and eat small portions and everyone just thinks I'm losing weight because I eat like that. Which- I am. However. If this is someone else who is overweight- who is looking at you as someone they can rely on "pigging out" with then they will be in for a disappointment. If you really don't want to share, which is totally fine and your call, just be clear with her that you are following a strict diet and taking your weight loss seriously.

    3 months post-op

I think that's a pretty significant weight loss and you should feel proud. Keep working the plan because it's working for you. If you hiccup and 2-3 oz do not push it. Maybe you can add an extra 2 oz Protein meal to your day. Ask your nut.
  18. Quest makes individual packets of Protein powder as well, they have them by the counter at GNC. I'm 3 months out and have traveled both internationally and domestically several times since surgery. I bring the quest packets and a Blender Bottle with me when I travel. Lately I've been packing turkey Jerky for trips as well. Came in handy on my last trip when my hotel room didn't have a fridge. @@bitingcat I have food allergies as well. Starting to become a purse snack person! Hard for me remember they are for emergencies though, and not just snack because they're there.

    Just feel lost

I recommend counseling - both for yourself and together- if you haven't started doing that already.

L'shana tova! Next year in skinny jeans.
  21. Maybe it's because I'm a jewish New Yorker but regular psychotherapy is a way of life for me and holds no stigma. Cannot recommend gentle talk therapy enough. I've upped my appointment frequency since surgery - too many changes and no reason to go it alone. You should also inquire about low dose fast acting anti anxiety mess like ativan or Xanax. It comforts me just to have a bottle around, I almost never use them. But I like to know they are there just in case. And second the bathtub suggesting. Posting from an aromatherapy bath rn. Lol. Meds not mess.

    Changes after hair loss

I have long mermaid hair. But very dark brunette with a white scalp and it can look patchy up there. I won't use biotin because I've shelled out for expensive laser hair removal treatments for my body hair and don't want to mess with that progress. I've had great luck with scalp treatments like phytocane in the past when I've had hair loss and am going to try another treatment cycle now at 3 months post op and will let you guys know if it helps my hair look fuller at the root.
