    f**king freezing

Yeah bodycon dresses and bodysuits and skirts is the best look for me right now. I'm really struggling with pants because I've now got an almost completely flat butt but still have a small front butt of loose skin and stomach fat. Will have to work on butt building exercises over time and eventually plastics but for now, with the exception of leggings on the weekends, I'm basically a no pants zone. The shopping is nonstop though. I had been wearing a latex waist trainer some days (I know, I know) which is supposed to get really warm and was still cold. But I've been in south Florida working for the last week so suddenly couldn't relate to my own thread anymore. Even in A/C rooms or right now I'm posting on a plane I'm not cold. I think the difference is that in NYC it's always cold and I never get a chance to warm up but in FL I retained some of the warmth from outside. Or maybe my problem has suddenly vanished, like the random knee pain I had last week. Who knows.
  3. @@amiskinnyyet that sucks that you weren't given a plan. You should check if there's anyone else at that practice like a PA, a nurse or a nutritionist that can help you out with guidelines. My plan allowed me to try scrambled eggs at day 10 post op and "soft foods" at day 20.
  4. @@LipstickLady I had to meet coworkers at a breakfast buffet yesterday and there was a steam stray filled with turkey sausage biscuits. I plucked out a sausage patty and left the biscuit. Someone's getting stuck with an empty biscuit....
  5. When I used to go to McDonald's for Breakfast I would get a plain biscuit and a hash brown. Carbs only. Sometimes 2 of each. I remember wiping the biscuit crumbs off my clothes..... Don't miss it at all.

    NSV shout outs

I've been working on a field project all week alongside a local facility. My coworker joked that we admired the facility workers t shirts (we didn't, but they took us seriously) and their CEO stopped me before I left to gift me with some. He handed them to me and said "sorry, those are the smallest sizes we have." !!
  7. @@pixiesleeve I serve the greater good of the public through my career. I'm an involved and productive citizen, a loving and caring sister, aunt, daughter, granddaughter and friend. The sleeve is something I did for myself as an act of self-care. Which was rare for me but I've learned through this process that as I take better care of myself, I'm even better at all the things I described above. So I don't feel the need to share this one thing. It doesn't mean I don't care about other people who struggle with obesity- I just can't take that on in addition to everything else. And that's totally OK. You have to do what works for you and some of us will take better care of ourselves going through this on our own. Best of luck to you.
  8. If you really want to keep it a secret like I do, you might want to consider lying. To start,I tell people who ask that I lost a lot less weight than I actually have. That way they don't start trying to guess how I lost 50 lbs in a few short months. It'S more than easy for them to believe I lost 20 through diet and exercise because they WANT TO believe that works.
  9. I work long hours, so for office days I pack 3-4 small meals and just go at them every couple of hours. My typical day looks like this: 7 - iced coffee at home w/ fairlife milk and unflavored Protein powder 10 - at the office- most of a 6 oz Fage 0% yogurt 12 - 2-3 oz of grilled chicken breast or cold poached salmon, depending on what I packed 3 - cheese (string, babybel, wee Brie, laughing cow, something like that) 5 - 2-3 oz of the chicken, salmon or whatever I had before Then if I'm home for dinner I'll have something like sliced turkey breast, a chicken or lamb burger patty, turkey Jerky etc. If I'm at a restaurant I'll usually order a protein w green veggies on the side and take at least half home for leftovers. If I forget to pack lunch, which happens sometimes, I'll hit the salad bar at the caf and load up on those turkey cubes, cheese and veggies and pick at that all day. The newsstand downstairs has Pure Protein shakes if I really can't be bothered. When I'm on the road for work, I work even longer days. I pack individual protein powders and a Blender Bottle, turkey jerky and hit up a grocery store for yogurt, Protein Bars, cheese Snacks, and deli meat to keep in my hotel room fridge. So I can still eat my 4-5 small meals a day even though my coworkers will only join me for 2-3! I am on the road now and got lucky by traveling with a female coworker who was happy to share with me at every meal so we both had nice perfect portions of healthy protein.

  13. It's tricky. I would say go with the flow as you lose, based on what your needs are at that time. It's really hard to gauge how long you will stay at one size, how many sizes you might skip over etc. I had gained weight pretty steadily over the last few years so before surgery I went through my closets and set aside all my nice smaller clothes that I thought I would enjoy wearing as I got slimmer post-op. Now that I'm 4 months post and 50 lbs down, I've tried on quite a few and honestly a lot of them just never really fit right at any point! If you're like me, you'll want to try to stay in well fitting clothes because that's the best way to flaunt your weight loss and enjoy your new figure. Plus everyone looks better in well fitting clothes! So things like tailored pants, leggings, blazers, sheath dresses I've had to buy new. Stuff like t-shirts, relaxed fitting pants (like cargos and sweats), fit and flare dresses etc I've been able to salvage through more than a few sizes. I've done pretty OK by tying a sash or belt around some dresses as well.

    snacks

I was having cheese as my snack 1-2x/ day- baby bel, laughing cow wedges, wee brie etc. very filling and satisfying. However my cholesterol went up as of my 3 month checkup so I'm backing off the cheeses. My plan encourages 4-6 small meals a day so I'm just going to "snack" on lean protein from here on out and see how that goes!
  15. I've decided on a new highly specific NSV goal after attending a concert last nite: would like to be small enough that a man lets me sit on his shoulders at a show. Just for one song! Maybe the slow song. Highly specific. But it's going to happen one day.

I too have wondered how can I keep dressing slutty fun, now that cold weather is upon us. Over the knee boots (you are short so that might be an issue for you, I dunno I have long legs), body con dresses, and dusters/blazers. Or skinny jeans, bodysuits, satin jackets. Once I hit my first under 200 pounds goal, I'm getting a fur. I am all about an active discussion on how to keep dressing slutty. I'm barely getting started though. It's really just about making sure all my clothes are body conscious, which is hard to do when you are losing fast. I am slowing down though and will probably lose 4-5 lbs a month from here on out if I'm lucky so it might get easier. Like all my jeans were stretchy skinny jeans and nothinggggg looks worse than stretchy skinny jeans that are sagging in the butt and thigh area. The only jeans that fit me now are like 4 years old and boot cut. So out of style. And I'm too busy to shop for jeans right now so I'm just jean-less. I just need to stock up on some tight black layers and I will probably feel fine. I did wear a long sleeved bodysuit today tucked into a white skirt with black tights and it worked. You should definitely get a fur. I think we talked about this before. Furs are a cultural thing for me so I have a few. I fit in two of mine now that didn't fit the last few years. I actually ripped the arm on one trying to wear it a couple of years ago so now I have to get it fixed. I am short for any OTK boots and also still haven't really lost enough - my calves are still like 15-16 inches around. I am into the soft suede boots that come really high up the thigh though and just ordered a pair. I can wear that with a long sleeved dress or a tank dress and a duster. Dressing like the Kardashians 101 eh? I have two warm weather trips coming up which is really throwing me. Need to find stuff I can wear to work outside in 80+ degree weather by Thursday....ugh!!!!!!!!!!!

    Calcium citrate with Vit D

Mine is Walgreens brand and it's just 2 regular pills I swallow twice a day.
  18. I relied on the Quest Peanut Butter flavor Protein powder for my shakes immediately post-op. Totally satisfied the peanut butter craving for me. Highly recommend since you are so early post-op and it's a better choice than actual peanut butter at this stage. They sell individual packets at GNC by the counter.

I have one at work. It doesn't really get hot enough to set anything ablaze. You can also get the ones that turn off and on on their own. I can't deal without my space heater.... the air blows right over my head at work! OK. I'll check if this is the kind that turns off. That would make me feel better. I actually get a lot of anxiety about electronics being plugged in. I have a whole OCD routine involving my curling Iron when I use it. I might just be too anxious to use it in my apartment. Or anything electric like the blankets or mattress pads. I really do appreciate the suggestions from everyone though. My office is weirdly balmy, if it was frigid I wouldn't think twice about the space heater because IDGAF if I accidentally burned it down. LOL. JK. The dumbest part of this is I am so happy with my weight loss that everyday I want to show SKIN. Someone tell me how to look sexy in layers.......
  20. I was allowed eggs at 10 days post op.

    Does being active get easier?

I'm almost 4 months out and I climbed halfway up a tree yesterday. Never in a million years did I think I would do that!! So yes, it gets easier.
