  1. Justme24, I do that too! I am 5 foot 8 and I HATE when my husband, who is very sweet, says "I can't imagine being that big" and it is a football tackle MAN and I weigh more.

Let's add: I want to weigh LESS than my husband who is 6 foot 1 and athletic.

Also, I want to weigh what my drivers license says...

  2. I got the 6 month wait with the classes and now I am so grateful! I feel confident in what to do before/after since our instruction was excellent.

I am having surgery 12/28 at 730 am if I get insurance approval. I have completed all the requirements including pre-admission testing.

One week of liquids only starts 12/20. Yep, no Christmas here! I promised my husband I would have Christmas in April when I have gone through all the stages and finally at week 12 get to eat "normal" food.

    We are worth it!!

  3. This is a fabulous post!!

Never buy anything with a 1,2 or 3 followed by an x.

Go zip lining with my husband without the weight limit fear. You have to weigh on the platform.

    Wear shorts in public.

Go fly fishing with my husband and be able to make the hike in without struggling.

Not be the only fat one in the room!

  4. Tweety40, I am allowed 1 cup of coffee a day. No more or it really irritates the pouch.

Best of me, I am on a try to keep super busy so I just keep moving forward phase. I am sure I am freaking out way down inside.I am having 2 to 4 food funerals a week and still trying to keep losing.....I lost 20 and gained some back and lost some and it repeats up and down....which shows me why I need this! 6 months to lose 20 lbs is sooooo slow!

    Beck Gal is completely correct!!!

  5. Great responses! If your dr wanted you to lose a specific amount then they are good about telling us. I have been in here and asked a ton about the liquid pre op diet...do the best you can!

My rules frome my surgeons program is:

    1. Do the best you can!

    2. 5 shakes a day max. Must be under 5 grams of sugar. So I got 3 flavors of Premium Protein, my favorite. Then I got 4 flavors of EAS carb control. So I made sure I had variety over 7 days. That is 35 shakes!!

    3. I got a big jug of isolate whey protein unflavored powder.< /p>

    4. Then drink 64 Oz of other liquid each day. Must be under 20 calories a serving. I am going online and ordering v8 diet in every flavor, I got a case of mixed berry Powerade zero and diet cranberry juice. Lots of variety.

    5. If we are going bonkers...our surgeon said have low fat cottage cheese and grilled chicken ready.

She is the nicest and her staff are amazing. I learned so much in the 7 classes. The follow up program is amazing too.

  6. Call your dr! We were taught in class that if you have a stall then to relax and know it happens!

    Then:

-track your food for every meal

-track your Water every day and get the full 64 Oz in

    -track your Protein

    -track your exercise

Make changes to any part of the above that are not where they should be.

Then I hear everyone say to increase your exercise with something new while still doing what you were doing before.

I started kick boxing and I also walk. If I hit a stall then I plan to run my stairs and do my PiYo DVD workout.

  7. I start my liquid diet 7 days before my 12/28 surgery. No Christmas this year!

I have a large list of what I can have but my mind is really messing with me on liquid only. Anyone have suggestions? We get 5 shakes a day and about 12 kinds to choose from. We then can have an additional 64 Oz a day of Soups and juice. The list of approved foods has all the guidelines on what to buy and the calorie count we should look for. I am stocking up. I plan to stay home and stay in my room!!

The classes my insurance required were great. I feel very knowledgeable on how to eat after. I sure hope I get approved next week. I hAve everything else done.

  8. Great results! I hope you are beyond thrilled!!

Anytime I get scared, since surgery is 12/28, I read about the successes here!

It is NOT to compare. It is to remind me why I am doing this!!

Justintime, thank you for your share. It took me 6 months to lose 20 lbs during my required classes. It was so hard too! I have gained some back since I got submitted for insurance approval.

Bigbit!! You have done AMAZING steps towards your health! I am so happy for you!!

I cannot wait to be able to share my progress!!

  9. I really love seeing all your screen names! Some are really cute.

    Fatassedness is truly a keeper!!

There isn't a need to compare to others. I get motivated by reading how well others did. Also, knowing stalls happen has been important so I joined a kick boxing gym ahead of time.

No one in our classes talked numbers so it is a big mysterious area.

Thank you for sharing! I al trying to remember when I got over 200 lbs and I think 1996 was the year.....

  10. I visited one of our friends from here! She got sleeved yesterday at 130 pm mountain and is doing GREAT! No pain and walking and sitting up and chatting. She said she is just tired.

It sure made me feel better about my 12/28 surgery! The stitches were so much smaller than I thought. She got to go home today at 4 pm.
