  1. 12/28 in Colorado! Premier Protein are also my favorite shakes. I put pumpkin pie spice in them or sugar free Torani salted caramel.

    So disappointed :(

I have learned so much from this forum! I didn't know we could gain weight from the surgery itself!
  3. I just found out about the seratonin dump from another sleever. Explains why I hsve felt so odd. Down 5 lbs since Monday.
  4. I had to laugh at the irony of a 7 day all liquid diet.... If I had that kind of will power then would I be getting surgery? ??? Any words of wisdom you can share is so great! I have 5 shakes for each day and all the other liquids for the additional 64 Oz of liquid each day. Everything is organized. I plan to stay in my bedroom and not go near the kitchen! Wish me luck because I am so nervous about sticking to this until next Sunday!
  5. I think I will go with shark attack when asked! Or...hot air balloon accident! Or....???

    So disappointed :(

All are fabulous responses! I go in on Monday and I will remember all the great encouragement!!
  7. I go in on Monday. This is just what I needed!!! Thank you!!
  8. Dub, you crack me up!! I told a select group. I finally told my mom after really worrying about telling her, asked her to not tell everyone and she told everyone so I don't give her any updates and she hasn't mentioned it so maybe she forgot. I am guessing when I fly to see her in 4 months that I will have lost some weight and maybe she will notice. I am finding that I just want to be alone this last week. I have huddled happily up in my room with all my liquids. I don't want to share or talk about it with anyone and I am sure they will be just fine! I don't know how I will discuss this with people after. I will figure it out when it happens! I am excited and I am ready!!
  9. So many to thank! Dub, no worries and I appreciate your honesty! You are right. Day 1 was easy. I think I didn't have faith in my self. Kinda Familiar, ok that truly was the perspective I needed. Thank you!! WLS RESOURCES, I have been repeating over and over... I can do anything for 7 days!!

    Weight Gain Normal?

KiraCat, I hope you are posting on multiple forums! There has to be others out there like you. Also, did your surgeons office nutritionist create a plan for you? I wish you the best!
  11. Thank you for posting this Hope and Agony! I have surgery next Monday and now I have more knowledge about what might happen.

    A year ago, I couldn't have...

Babbs, you are too cute!! I will be back to update this after my surgery! Here is what I plan to say! -climbed a mountain with my husband (the thought of hiking up a 14,000 ft mountain makes me cringe at this point) - rode my bike by myself for an hour on the canal by my house ( right now I am having balance issues and wanting to hide my body issues) - walked 5 miles, 4 to 6 times each week, at 3.5 mph (currently I am at 4 days a week for 2 miles at too slow mph and was aiming for 3 mph and just couldn't do it) - get through 9 Rounds kick boxing without stopping and be able to do a double session (currently I can get to round 7 without feeling like I am going to throw up but no way can I do a double class) Looking forward to being 1 year put instead of 1 week pre op!
  13. Ironpoorer- I am getting pretty nervous! The hardest part I worry about the most is the changes my husband has to go through. He is not over weight!
  14. The Protein shakes that so many of us drink are said to be great for before/after a workout. Don't drink anything with caffeine and caffeine can hide where you wouldn't expect it. The fitness people say to no workout before bedtime. At least 4 hours before bedtime. Good luck and keep us posted!
  15. Pabst!! Fabulous update!!! My surgery is 12/28. Our surgeon keeps everyone overnight. That is mandatory. I cannot imagine being sent home the same day. We get our ability to sip throughout the day, our ability to tolerate jello, bathroom output, ability to walk off the gas from the surgery, no fevers, pouch test, no nausea. That is a lot!!
  16. SSFLBELLE, can you call your insurance company and ask to switch?

Am I going to be starving?

Pipsqueak, I have heard many say/type that. I am hoping you were taught that sipping small amounts of water all day long is key. Adding no flavor protein powder to the water will help hopefully. It is so dangerous to not get the protein and water in. I know you know this. I just want to support you in your progress. There are several new kinds of protein liquid shots available that look like the 5 hour energy shots of liquid. They are not the full approved protein I learned about in my classes but they are better than not putting anything in your body. Go to the store here on BP and search liquid protein. The BP store is backed up on delivery so you can check Amazon.com to get the liquid protein faster. Hopefully you learned about the different kinds of protein and why these are not recommended first. But if they help to get you to eat something. .. I hope you are posting all over this site to gets lots of advice. It is indeed dangerous to not eat! Are you taking your vitamins daily??? I got the Barimelt ones from the BP store here to make sure I was getting the first month post op my best chance to heal and stay healthy. Can you set a timer for every 15 minutes? We learned in class to drink 1 tiny 1 ounce cup every 15 minutes. So now I have my timer on my phone set for every hour to keep me mindful. I am sending you my best wishes to you and hope your surgeon can help!!

Jerica, I have kept in touch with a lot from my WLS classes and have indeed heard several talk about that issue. Talk to your doctor first! Most of the girls I heard with this were sipping too fast. One was using a straw even though she knew that was a big no no! Good luck and keep us posted. I know others will chime in here too!

Thank you! The classes the surgeons office hold are amazing. I have a table filled with my liquid stage pre-op stuff and my 2 weeks after of liquid. I even have my hospital stuff on the table! Sleep mask, Gas X strips, SF throat lozenges, a pill for the car ride home, my husband's robe, wipes if I don't feel well enough to shower...seriously prepared here!!

    Sleeved on 12/15

These posts are so helpful! I have had a long time to think about head hunger vs actual hunger. Thank you!

I have surgery on 12/28. I am hoping all the pain/vomit/dumping stories will keep me right on track! I found a therapist with experience treating WLS patients so am staying on her schedule. I sure hope you feel better very soon!

    Approved today!

Caressa, You and I are close in height and close in starting weight. I have been going back and forth on my end goal. 126 is the lowest on the BMI charts for healthy weight range. I honestly don't remember weighing that since high school. Can you share how you picked your goal? My surgeon said she will get me to 180 and she felt 140 was too thin for me. After going through all this... I want to be slim. Slim is a term that I am very interested in!
  23. I am excited and of course nervous! I have finished my classes and feel completely educated. I read everything on here too. I am meeting with someone this Friday and she had surgery last year and has her tummy tuck on the 30th. I plan to ask tons of questions about both! 12/28 at 7:30 AM.....wish me luck!!
  24. I got my surgery approval yesterday, YEAH, and surgery is 12/28 so the 7 day liquid only starts THIS SUNDAY! I normally cook a huge breakfast on Christmas Eve to be ready Christmas morning. Then I start cooking 2 days before so all of the sides and Desserts are ready and I don't have to cook at all on the actual holiday. You all have encouraged me to still cook but so much smaller amounts. I can take one day off from liquid and be very careful. I will make eggs with veggies in some sort of a festive frittatta and skip the biscuits/gravy/stuffed french toast/bacon/donuts/sausage I normally make the day before. There will be no mimosas this year either. No Baileys in our coffee. I am not going to mind either. My poor husband might but he would never complain. dinner will be a tiny standing rib roast and mashed potatoes. Nothing else. Thanks to you all for helping me decide skipping Christmas was a bad idea.We are not doing the tree or decorating since surgery is the Monday right after. I don't want to be stuck with having all that work to pack everything back up the following week. My sweet husband just bought me a gorgeous chocolate leather power reclining couch. My recovery will be so cozy!
