From reading other posts they do have a stricter diet, but I'm glad to have you for a buddy. Have you been to their support groups in River Forest? I've been to my first one last month and I LOVED it!!!

I've been on this app for 3 days and every post I've made no one has responded to me. I'm having my gastric sleeve surgery this Thursday August 3rd. And I'm very excited and scared!!! I'm also having my hiatal hernia removed at the same time. I'm hoping to join your support group and anyone please feel free to call or text me. 1-708-571-9426. #hatedoingthisalone

  3. Just wanted to wish all tomorrow's patients the best and pray we all do well with no surprises. I probably won't be online until after I return home. Definitely want to keep up with how well we all do. POSITIVE THINKING and PRAYERS! I'll try to post pretty regular for the first couple weeks while I'm home to maybe help others and ease the tension. I'm first up tomorrow.....safe surgery and safe travels to all. I'll be in Huntsville, Alabama.

    Good luck to u [emoji120]

  4. So how do people get their Vitamins? I was hoping to get enrolled in this program but of course my insurance doesn't cover that. So once I finish my surgery how would I get the vitamins I need etc?

Bariatric advantage has a program for 90 day supply free...it's called the recover program...they just sent mine. Then Celebrate Vitamins has their own program I signed up for..they send u vitamins every 90 days for a year from when u apply. I got those today

Please share what you are doing to get prepared for success! Emotionally, physically, mentally?

im on Instagram a lot. they have wls stories and they are very inspiring. i follow som fitness people that have done it on their own without surgery. i like to see what exercises and types of foods they eat to give me ideas. medically i am unable to lose weight on my own. i cut out all the junk food and sweets to get my sugars down and that worked. got my cholesterol and triglycerides in normal range. i look great on labs just not the scale. with all that hard work not a pound was shed. that could also be due to the meds and insulin im on. so i started the pre op last Monday and down 17 pounds. pretty much off my insulin i just watch it carefully. so i really need this surgery. i guess the key is to focus on what you want dont listen to unsolicited comments or advice and find a motivation. research as much as you can beforehand. there is a blog called milestogo.squarespace.com very good read. also www.muhealth.org/app/files/public/22/mbs-vertical.pdf

ive done tons of research i dont mind sharing :D

  6. My surgery is coming up quickly. I start the pre-op liquid protien diet on the first. I am dreading the liquid diet pre-op diet. Have you started the liquid diet yet? How is it going? I did not have a required pre-op diet leading up to this - so I feel like this is going to be extra hard.
I have tried various Protein drinks, I have stocked up, so I am ready... just worried that this phase will be very difficult.

  7. I'm scheduled for August 9th in Chicago at st Josephs hospital...been on the pre op liquid diet...not too horrible...the first 3 days my mood was irritable but I'm chill now lol. Would be nice to have buddies to compare notes or bounce ideas around [emoji4]
