Actually if I eat butter right now (on baked potato etc.), i'll barf.
-
I'm 4 months postoperative and I still get nauseous, mainly when I'm out in restaurants or drive by restaurants. Butter is usually the main culprit.

I'm 4 months in & when I shake my Protein Powder drinks, OMG! Gas like crazy, burping over burping. Gonna try mixing after reading above. Keep moving. I also get 30min massages at the mall which helps a LOT with moving gas
-
Gas can be bad. I had it bad but I WAS NOT WALKING. Once I started walking and pulling my knees into my stomach. The gas left for the most part.
-
I felt like that at 1st but once I started solid foods or was better. The liquid diet isn't the best but it'seems to take it easy on your digestive system. I honestly wanted to go back to liquid 3 weeks in and just picked at food once a day.
-
I need to walk. I get up more than before but no real exercise regimen. Addicted to work. And I don't always have energy & take Vitamins.< /p>

I was told not to go over 1100 cals.

I am in mourning now. Not only can I probably not eat certain foods, as in I shouldnt, but, I don't want to. It's kinda scary bcuz I did have an appetite after surgery and now that I can eat, blaaaaah. I had a moment when I ate a quarter pc of flounder, 2-3 fork fulls of mashed potatoes & I was so full I felt disgusted. Flounder was 3 inches at best

My stall has been a week. It's made me more mindful of what I'm supposed to be doing. Not perfect but mindful to do...
-
See NUT. .I need told me take it flow & down the road, no more than 1100 calories a day. It that's down the road. Now I notice 300-600 calories on week 4.
-
Yeah, there was. Oohing to do. It to just do ot, knowing soon you'll add more foods. Ironically I miss liquids. It was when my body felt best
-
I notice I don't miss rice at all. Not sure it'll be the same for noodlesome but I'm glad there's wheat noodles and spinach noodles, even gluten free.
I will work harder and def replace bcuz I still get a sweet tooth.

You did a great job by the way. Praying I'm a success story like yourself.

It's been exactly 6 months today on thanksgiving. It's been a surprising time. Definitely giving thanks today for the weight I've lost .

What did you do over the 6 months? Did you stand strictly by your program? Did you slip up sometimes? Do share.

Well, I went up 2.5 lbs but I've read that's normal. I actually believe that 2.5 is bcuz I was constipated for 4 days while out if town. But, in any case, from what I've read, it's normal to stop losing for a lil bit and even to gain a few lbs. I'm trying to keep with Everything bcuz everything in our program is for a reason.

You are SOOOO right, as usual! My last "stall" lasted a couple of months, broken today. I think it is most of those who have just recently had their surgery, who talk about the stalls so much. Like you said, it is part of the whole thing. And lest we forget, it is not unusual to "regain" a few pounds here and there on our path. Just the body shifting around, getting used to the new program. It's best to take things one day at a time, and as we follow our individual programs, it is important to remember that everyone is different, and we each, independently, will lose in our own way, at our own time. Your wisdom, Inner Surfer Girl, is spot on!!!! Have a great weekend, everyone!
How long ago was your surgery?

I'm a lil over 3 wks post op. This is so GREAT to hear. I was away in S. Carolina and had no veggies, and I'm on soft foods. I thought not having veggies which caused Constipation was the reason I stopped losing weight. I only weigh myself every Wednesday so, will keep up with Protein & Vitamins & Water. Thanks for posting this & thanks for answering and making us aware of "Stalls"

Is it possible your weight is dropping so it looks swollen? Do you have a tube in you?
-
Pain may most likely be due to gas. Drink Water as hot as you can stand, I did it from the sink, cupping my hand. Then walk a lot.
-
I'm gonna try the crystal lite thing for the cravings. I'm starting week 4 but after 4th or 5th day I craved. I blamed it on the liquid diet.< /p>
I still crave but since I'm on soft foods I'm ok. I did have 1 Day that I didn't get full. I thought it weird and was afraid I stretched my stomach. But that made me more mindful. I chew good, eat slow and then sit back and wait my 30min to drink Water. If food going too slow, I sip then wait. Usually like now I'm full.
I messed up & have eaten things from week 5 menu, chicken but I catch myself and eat right. I was out of town so it couldn't be helped. Just weigh or measure, regardless to your appetite. That way you're on control, even if you slip. I've seen people slip and just take one bite to satisfy. The calories are still far less than prior to surgery
-
I won't complain but I lost 11 lbs in 1st week, 22 in 1st 2 wks. I will weigh tomorrow to see what 4 weeks looks like. I don't think it will be down too much because I was out of town and couldn't stick to plan like I'd like to have. Plus some Constipation that's just now getting better since I'm bk home yesterday, eating properly. Will report tomorrow.
11 months since surgery and I only lost 25 pounds. Metabolism destroyed.

Yes, I was thinking about that young lady. She had the exact issue and when she returned she lost the weight and explained why and it sounds exactly like your issue. You definitely need a 2nd opinion.
