  1. Help!! I have started losing hair about a month ago. I was sleeved in December 2015. I wasn't getting my Protein requirements for awhile but that has since been rectified. I get at least 90g a day, but I am still losing a significant amount of hair. Other people can tell I'm thinning around my hair line but otherwise I can only tell that my hair is thinner throughout the rest of my hair. How long before it slows down! I'm having a slight breakdown over it! Thanks !

Oh and I also use Nioxin to wash my hair and take Biotin supplements along with my normal daily Vitamin

  2. I work for Cigna, and they denied my pre auth multiple times before they approved it. My surgeon did the peer to peer and was told that they would approve as long as he personally wrote a letter stating I needed the surgery and they still denied, my insurance coordinator called to our pre auth dept and got on the phone w a supervisor. Needless to say I was approved 3 days before my actual surgery. As long as your doctors office calls, whether it's to do a peer to peer or to get on the phone w their supervisor they should approve. Cignas coverage policy states that as long as the patient has a BMI over 40 , you don't need a co morbidity. I hope it works out for you

  3. This happened to me too. Not sure why. But lots of women said the same thing. Now, at 9 months out it is much better, although maybe not perfect. But much much better. I still have vaginal dryness though. Not sure if that is related to surgery but it seems to be.

My doctor (ob/gyn) tested my hormone levels and DHEA and Testosterone were at the low end of normal. He put me on DHEA and said if that didn't help I could do testosterone cream as well. Talk to your OB/Gyn.

Hmm. I will definitely have to get checked out. I used to have high testosterone due to PCOS, but it's been normal for the last couple of years but that was before my weight loss. I wonder if it's changed. I'll have to make an apt. I'm glad you're feeling better!

  4. Im the opposite! Sex at 307 was painful and difficult. 41 pounds down I am starting to feel energy again and able to move better. I coud still happily sleep sometimes though - although I only see my fella 2 times a week so plenty of me time too.

Congrats on the weight loss, that is awesome !! I wish I was getting energy. I feel the farther away from the surgery I get the less energy I have. Fingers crossed my hormones figure it shit out. I'm 54lbs down and I want to enjoy this weight loss lol

  5. Lol, I have virtually no sex drive, although I'm not sure at what point this happened. Before surgery I wasn't much of a dater, however I regularly enjoyed "me-time" if you know what I mean. Now, while I was a good gf during the one relationship I have had since my sleeve and I put out routinely 1-2 times a day, I really have no interest in it one way or the other. I figure if I date someone again I will care and until then, eh, more time to do other things.

I hear ya. I used to be all about me time but I can't even get into that. I'm engaged and I should be jumping my fiancés bones every chance I get but I can't even be bothered with it. Sometimes I can't stand to be touched. I feel bad bc he has been dealing with this for awhile, 2 months before my sleeve , I have a major cervical spine surgery so it's been awhile since I've felt up to even making an attempt. I just feel bad all around.

  6. 2.5 months from undergoing serious surgery, 2.5 months from a complete change in the way your body processes food, 2.5 months from a drastic reduction in caloric intake, 2.5 months into a complete metabolic shift, 2.5 months worth of stress and hormones, 2.5 months in a body that is constantly changing. You're FINE. Don't worry if you don't feel like it yet.

Frankly, I'm more surprised at the folks that go "it's been two weeks, can I start banging people yet?" Bless their hearts, but I didn't want anyone to come near me for six months.

Well when you put it like that I feel terrible because my fiancé obviously isn't going through changes like my body is and his sex drive is just as it always if but I just can't be bothered with it. I just hope it rights itself soon. Thanks for responding though! I really appreciate it !

  7. Just wondering if it is possible to lose this much, and if so, how long did it take you?

I know everyone is different. Just looking to hear some different stories :)

I am a little over a month post op. A little under 2 months since the whole shebang started (the preop diet) and I am down 41 lbs. I expect to hit my goal of 59 more lbs by the end of this year at the latest and at least 3/4 of my weight goal by my wedding in October. That 41 lbs is without excercising. I can't work out right now due to medical problems I'm having post neck surgery I had in October. I have faith that anyone who wants to lose their goal can do it ! Good luck with everything ❤️❤️

  8. That's awesome you were able to do it outpatient , I couldn't imagine doing it like that. I was there for 2 days. The gas pain was horrible and I couldn't stop throwing up. I am not sensitive to anesthesia so I'm assuming my stomach just couldn't handle being stapled but they weren't able to do the leak test on me until the next day and I vomited through the whole thing. Once that got controlled they said I could go the next morning and j have been fine since. Still get some nausea but nothing like I had. I had the surgery 3 weeks ago.

  9. Hey everyone. I'm 2 weeks post op. Doing my best to get my Protein in just started my purée stage yesterday. My question is , how did you have nausea for post op? My nausea was horrible in the beginning and some days I'm good w no nausea and then there are days I have to go back to my zofran bc my nausea is so bad. I haven't vomited but the nausea is just getting annoying. Appreciate any insight
