I went to my second visit this past Thursday and found out my thiorid is way high so I was put on sinthroid and have to get more labs done again in 2 months. My next step is psych, gyne overview, boob squish, endo, scoped and treadmill heart test but since I have a broken foot it will be done in a bed with meds to stimulate my heart. I'm getting there. 2 months down 4 to go! Also down 4 pounds since first visit!

Stg7546 how are you doing???? How was the surgery and your days in the hospital? Any issues or nausea like others have stated?

SarahkcSarahkc Well it sure sounds like you had a fantastic experience other than the nausea! That is one thing I am real worried about too is the nausea since I get that often now anyways. Zophran is my friend! I think the energy level is so low due to all the loss of foods and protein loss and the fact that you can't drink a bunch of water. Not to mention all the trauma and healing your having to do. I think you've done fabulous! I have another friend who has told me about the mood swings so I'm thinking that's pretty normal unfortunately. I'm an emotional person also so I can't imagine how bad that will be for me! Oy! Lol. I too love to sit around and munch. Everything I do seems to revolve around where or what to eat. It's gonna be hard redoing what we are so programmed to do daily. I'm even worried about no coffee!!! I can't even function or talk without it! Talk about becoming emotional! Omg! I am so happy you had such a positive and successful experience with all of this so far. I wish you all the luck!!! How much do you need to lose? I hope you reach your goal and I know you will! We are here for you if you feel your sipping or sad or just need a word of encouragement! Never forget that! You got this!!!????

Welcome Sarahkc! I have heard of this doctor but didn't know that much. That's fantastic you had such a wonderful experience! That's just how it should be! How did your surgery itself go and your healing and pain? How many weeks did they have you off till you went back to work? Your doctor sounds a lot like mine! My doctor is always doing seminars and research. His team is great also! Sure makes you feel better about it that's for sure! You sound like your doing really well so far and have a good outlook on it! You've lost apt so far. How much do you want to lose? Where about in Pgh are you located? Your too cute. I'm glad your getting this under your thumb so to speak. I read it could mean indigestion or you need more liquids. Have you tried more? If so has it helped? How much do u think you've lost at this point? How long will you be off work?

Welcome Careysgirl! Sounds like you are really on the right track and are doing everything you can to reach your goals! Great you have some of your testing needs done and can use them! I have 5 more apt left also but I will be going again this week for my 2nd one. Sounds like the two of us are on the same timing. You sound very close to me and my readings. I am 5'1 and 200 pounds. I am very limited to what I can do physically right now since I have a foot fx plus a torn tendon. Hard to walk! My stress test will be done in a bed andctheycwi give me meds to race my heart to an exercise rate. Crazy what they can do today! You are right! With all of us together supporting each other and family and friends we can definitely do this!!! I got you????

So cool you've gotten so much done at this point!!! Your soooo close! How exciting! I just got started last month ans will be having my second meeting this Thursday. Doing my bloodwork tomorrow. Planned for today but forgot and drank coffee when I woke up!!! I was so mad at myself! I met with the ekg doctor but still have everything else to do! Ive been doing tons of reading and I've been on this site reading a lot plus I have several friends and family members who have had some sort of weight loss surgery thru the years. Sure had come along way since my moms banding 20 years ago and she was sliced wide open from breast bone to pubic bone! Crazy!

Thank you! The last thing on my pre-op prerequisites is the endoscopy. I've had everything else done. Once I get that done, it'll go through insurance (fingers crossed) and then I'll get a date. We definitely need to help each other throught this.

Second visit Thursday with the psych and nut folks. I'm nervous! I work 13hr shifts so I planned today to go get my blood panel done and completely forgot and drank a cup of coffee out of morning habit! Didn't even think of the lab! I was so mad when I realized I ruined it for the day! My time is so limited to run around too! So mad at myself. Going tomorrow 6am!!! Hey did you hear about the insurance and if you will have to switch doctors? I sure hope not!

I'm in Washington Pa. Area called McMurray. I am only 1 month in. Go for my second apt this Thursday 12/3. I'm scared and excited.

@jane13. I am very well informed in all the different bariatric services. I have 12 people in my family who have had bypass, banding and the sleeve. I've had lots of people to discuss all this with. Thank you for worrying. Nice to know others out there care

@ oh I hope you can keep your team. Most doctors have contracts with many carriers. Maybe you'll. Have to go to a different surgical center but I hope not with your doc.

Oh that's exciting!!! Wouldn't that be nice if you can get started on this quicker! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Do you have to get weekly weigh ins by your doctor or is it what the insurance makes you do? Did you need a sleep study?
