Hi! I had my psych eval a few weeks ago and it was so simple. It lasted about 1/2hr to 45min. He asked me questions like who lives with me, what do I do for a living, do I ever get depressed,and if so how do I handle it, do I drink, smoke, drugs, what are my fears and strengths. Basically that's about it. He asked will I have any support if I decide to go thru with the surgery at home. Honestly I thought it all was a big waste of time. It really had nothing to do wit the surgery at all. I think it's more to make sure your in a sound mind and not all over the place with thoughts. You'll do just fine. Trust me. I told him my fears were of drowning and seeing people struggle under water. It was a very simple process. Right afterwards I met with my PA and NUT to continue my visit. Good luck to you!

Well I didn't go there to be weighed in. I would go for Med refills and neck issues and back issues etc and be weighed while there. Since he's the one referring me to do this I'm sure he would write s letter or something stating we did stuff in the past. His system switched from paper to electronic so he said he doesn't have apt of his past history stuff Ugggh. So I'm going to see if he will write me something. So far I've had an EKG, EDG, (endoscopy), sleep study, mamo, pap, (gyne stuff) psych eval, I still need a stress test and the second over night sleep study which I'm doing tomorrow night. Other than that I've done everything!

I did things on my own with weight watchers over a years time and lost 80 pounds but wasn't being followed by my doctor at the time. Also a few times he prescribed me meds to lose weight but but not a whole lot happened with it. So now what!?!? I have really nothing to show. Right now I'm getting too close to the cut off with my BMI. It's 36 right now with my last weigh in. I last got weighed in I was 197 but then she had me take off my shoes and I was 196 something and she took it to 195 cause they round it. I'm only 5'1. I can't afford to lose anymore before the sleeve or I won't get it. I'm very bottom heavy. I carry it al below. It was my pcp who referred me. Wonder if that would help ... All these questions I still have

It sure is hillbillienurse Ive had a message into my doctors office to do some investigating since last week and once I see what they say again I'll let you all know also. I'm just super upset cause as I said before I asked about this at my very first visit and I stated I didn't think it was a covered item and they said oh no as of 3 weeks ago it is now covered. And that was in November. I'm checking again.

Ya know I had that feeling! My doctors office told me on day 1 it was covered now by them as of just a few months ago but something is just not sitting right with me. I had a feeling it wasn't. I don't want the bypass. Now I'm really bummed ???? So did you pay for your sleeve out of pocket? I may end up just doing just that myself. Thanks for your information

I will have to roll him over on the floor and kneel over him on my knees. I'm a slow healer from other surgeries I have had so I wasn't sure. I'm really worried about him and being able to care for him too. Doing that is a true skill and it's not something just anyone can come in and do. I sure hope I can get down on the ground and do this????

Right up my alley with the question! I too was wondering this. I have a paralyzed dog that needs my care. I will have to "express" him to go potty which means I have to lay him on his side and press on his bladder. Will I be able to do this as soon as I get home?!?!

I am aiming more towards the sleeve but I think my insurance does not cover the sleeve at all so I may have to go with the bypass. I have several family members who have had the bypass. Other than the procedure, is there a difference in what your able to eat in the beginning to heal?

I can't wait!!! I'm half way there and yes I'm very nervous but I'm so excited to see what the future holds for me! All my health issues and body pains hopefully coming to an end! I'll take a little (maybe a lot) pain for a very short time to feel wonderful for the rest of my life! I'm 49! Time to finally feel good! Better yet, time to find out what feeling good feels like again! Good luck to you!!! You can do this!

Ahhhh perfect situation then. Good for you. Glad you have that set up for you. You'll heal so much nicer this way too. Gets ya movin plus keeps you in a clam relaxed environment when need be ????

Wow I didn't even think you were home yet. Good for you! No worries about the typos believe me. I don't even notice them truthfully. It's been pretty gross here too. Good excuse to stay inside for a while and heal up and get stronger

How are you feeling today? Any changes? What kind of hernia did you have? Were you aware? Did he tell you it would be being fixed at this time? I too have a hiatal hernia. Haven't talked to my doctor yet about needing it fixed. I hope your day has gotten better and your tummy isn't so so tender. It's going to take some time. I think the pillow against you is a great idea! Try it! I have a feeling it's kinda like a CSection! Get well soon!! I had a hiatal hernia repair, I new it would be a possibility. He made the final decision once inside. I'm feeling better today, one of my incisions it hurting but I haven't taken much pain medicine. I slept with an extra pillow for support and it helped a lot. Thank you!So glad your finding something to help you feel a little better today. Hopefully each day gets a little easier. Have you been able to wak around yet? I'm very surprised about the pain meds. That's great tho. I've been thinking about you

Hi branton824. Sorry you had such a difficult time after surgery. Throwing up like that would be horrible! Did they try giving you zofran to calm it down? What was causing it sid they tell you? Anesthesia? Glad your feeling better now and hope you continued success! Hand in there in your stand still. I hear so many people talking about that. I've heard hold back on some protein shakes and eat more foods and water and that should help. Good luck to you! I'm half way through my visits!

Hi. I'm 5'1 and 197 bmi is 36 right now and my doctor asked me which I was looking into. If your not comfortable and want to make your own decisions maybe have a consult with another doctor to see how they are with you. It's your body and your choice. I wish you luck.
