  1. My band has been empty for a long time. We did a few scopes, but did not find a problem with the band. I do not know why I vomited so much, but I got to the point where I refused to eat. I do feel like a total failure with this. It feels terrible:(
  2. I have had my lapband since 10/05, but have recently been diagnosed with anorexia. My docotor thinks it would be better for my recovery if the band comes out. Though I do not eat now anyway, I am still a little scared to be without my band. I have had quit a few problems with my band over the past year with vomiting, so my doctor feels that I have a better chance at learning to eat again without the worry of vomiting from the band. It has just been a part of my life for so long now, I feel a little strange about being without it. I am not looking forward to another surgery either.
  3. I was watching TV with my six year old and one of those commercials came on for a diet drug that showed a very large belly dissapearing. He looked at me with the most loving concern and said "Mama will you get that medicine so you can run with me" How heartbreaking is that...

I just joined Curves and wondering if anyone else has or is doing this workout and is it working for you? Thanks
  5. Hello! I was banded 10/05 and have had some problems with vomiting. I managed to gain 8 pounds back by eating those bad foods that went down easily. I have since resolved the problems with an unfill. Even with the problems I would do it again. Try not to look at it as the last time you will eat the foods you enjoy. You will get to eat those foods in moderation. Good Luck to you!
  6. I just put my son on the bus. This is his first time on the bus. He is in Kindergarten this year. He looked so sweet with his little backpack. I am so anxious. I know I should not call the school, but I just want to make sure he made it OK!
  7. Thanks for the advice. I am feeling better today. I have lost 2 pounds over the last couple of days. One day at a time. Thanks
  8. I have been going down this same path for months now. I could not keep the proper foods down and managed to gain 8 pounds. I had an EGD done to make sure everything is OK with the band and had an unfill. I have gone 4 days now with eating the protein again and have lost 2 pounds. It is still hard not to eat those friendly foods. I would look into having some removed from your band and see if it helps. Good Luck
  9. Hello! I am from Cincinnati and was banded by Dr. Curry October 2005.
  10. I know what you are going through. I am at the same place right now. I have gained back 8 pounds just trying to keep down food, but this is the wrong kinds of food. I have had 2 unfills and have started to pay closer attention to bite size and chewing. I have gone 2 days without losing solid food. It is a challenge giving up those easy foods. Maybe we can do this with the help of this board. Good luck to you
  11. Hello Everyone! I was banded 10/05 and I am having such a hard time. I have gained back 8 pounds and spend alot of time vomiting. I have had a EGD and now know everything is OK with my band. I feel like I have completely fell off the wagon. I am struggling to get back to where I was after surgery. Has anyone out there gone through this and managed to get back on track?
  12. Hello! I know where you are coming from. I too feel like a freak when I go to the Doctor. I have not lost any weight for 4 weeks now and managed to gain a few back. I know it is my fault, but I don't seem to have it in me to do the work. People tell me I took the easy way out, but all the work is on us. I hope you begin to feel better.
  13. I am going to be banded on Oct 28. I am feeling a little nervous. My doctor requires 10 days of a pre-op liquid diet, that has been a little rough! I hope all goes well for you.
  14. I will be banded on 10/28 and want to be excited, but do not have the support of my family. My husband is supportive so that helps. I am starting to question my decision now, and feeling a little depressed.
  15. I am very sorry you had such a bad experience. I am scheduled for the lapband 10/28. Do you think you would do it again if you had a better experience at the Hospital?
