  1. Hey all, almost to that 6 month mark!! [emoji51]

I feel like I have failed.. I did so great at the beginning followed the diet and exercise routine to a T.. But even right after surgery I was hungry, my hunger never went away and the restriction that everyone talks about just isn't there for me.. I had a 6inch subway chicken breast sandwich for lunch and besides some of the excess bread I can eat the whole thing no problem.. I never get that "full" feeling that most people talk about and I can eat sugary foods and greasy foods without any stomach upset.. I wish I would just get dumping! Right after the surgery I even asked my Dr if he actually did the surgery and still 6 months later I wonder the same thing.. If it wasn't for the weight loss I have had I would want my money back for him leaving my full stomach in there Lol... Surgery was October 14th SW 218 CW 153.. The last month weight loss is a very slow crawl..

I can relate to all the people who say they still feel fat.. I feel huge and squishy as well! People see me and tell me how "tiny" I am yet me and that word do not go together.. I still feel like the fat girl who wants to hide.. This has got to be more of a mental thing since I can now wear a size 7, I should be happy with that..right? And my ARMs ugh! Even in a small/medium top I don't think I can ever wear a short sleeved shirt.. I keep waiting for the day my mind will catch up with my body.. Maybe then I won't feel so negative about me..

But on another note.. My Hair loss, although still occurring it has lightened a little!

Sorry for the long rant that's all over the place..

I guess just because I can eat more than anyone I have talked to that has had this surgery doesn't mean I should.. But most people who have had this surgery don't get hungry but mine never skipped a beat.. I have started trying to drink a gallon of Water a day.. Hopefully this will help with my hunger... I'm on day two- so I'll let you know how things go!

You all have been such a huge help in not feeling so alone since I chose not to tell anyone about my surgery other than my husband.. So for that I THANK YOU!!!

  2. Wow your schedule looks pretty crazy! Mine is crazy but what I have found that works for me is either walking on the treadmill at night while studying, or after I get dinner done and everyone in bed I do my daily 30 minute workout, it's normally like 10:00 by then but then after I wind down with my studying. The workout videos I do are through beachbody they are the 21 day fix videos and they have a different 30 minute workout for everyday! I love them!

I do some kind of workout everyday which has helped tremendously with balancing everything going on, We need to have a little US time!

  3. Hi everyone! It has been quite some time since I last checked in.. Read through some of these recent post and realize I'm not alone on this journey... So first off I went Jan 11th for my 12 week post op.. Hw/sw was 218 my current weight is 169.8 my NUT and nurse were pleased with my weight loss, my Dr on the other hand wanted to see more.. My Vitamin levels were on the lower end of normal but still considered normal so they wanted me to try this chewable they sold in office, so I did and every time I took it within a few minutes it would come right back up. Since this I have yet to find a Vitamin I can keep down now.. Now this is alarming because my hair is falling out rapidly.. My husband even noticed a small bald spot... I've seen a lot of hype on the Patches and although my surgeon told me not to use them at this point I think something is better than nothing.. Any thoughts???

And lastly I also need to get back on track with eating and tracking all I eat.. This past week there has been some grazing and that's a dangerous slope for me.. I have always noticed I can eat more than what I see people posting and I know just because I can doesn't mean I should.. So I've been back to timing between my bites and chewing chewing chewing, since I have always been a fast eater. I've been doing my 30 minute daily workouts by beachbody but this week I've been jugging more than usual and with a sick little one, so I need to start doing those consistently again.. So here I am ready to kick it up a notch and continue on my weight loss journey!

Hope everyone else is doing well!!

  4. So I had my one month post-op appointment (even though I'm not quite a full month yet) and I was a bit disheartened.

The staff says absolutely no exercise for 9 weeks (other than walking- which is not something I enjoy due to foot issues) and after that light Water aerobics can be added. They don't suggest aerobics or hitting the gym until 6 months! Doesn't this seem really long? I want to maximize the 6 month 'honeymoon' period and exercise has always been a big part of me successfully losing weight.

It seems a lot of bariatric people exercise much earlier. Is anyone from the October group exercising yet? When have you been told you can start?

Hi all, I'm in the other forum of October surgeries just found this one.! I had my surgery on October 14th. At my one week post op they cleared me for light aerobics. Then on my November 9th apt they cleared me for full exercise. The only limitation was to start with 5-10 lb weights and after a month I could increase weights. I totally understand what you mean by wanting to maximize our "honeymoon phase"

  5. Okay, I put that dreaded scale away today! Still in a stall, and don't need to be stressing on that. The past two days I have had a major headache, I need to make it a priority to drink more Water. I went back to work 5 days after surgery and have been struggling to get into a routine. I try to get water in between patients and then get enough Protein in but I need a way to get in more! I have not told my coworkers about the surgery so that makes things even harder! Any help on getting a solid routine??

  6. @@kvoneye .. Thanks for the response, I've spent the last 3 hours going through different forums and have to say I feel a little less discouraged than I did before.

I was asking myself what's wrong with me and obviously I'm doing something wrong. I'm constantly hungry and the scale hasn't moved as much as others and it hasn't moved at all in four days. I get crazy pain and bloating anytime I eat although I still feel hungry. My cravings never missed a beat and i struggle to just keep eating what's on my approved list..

Reading through a lot of people have felt this way. I just need to remember this is a journey..

I can work on upping my Protein and Water and stop worrying so much about calories..
