  1. Thanks Ladies!

I am going again on Monday night. I think I might try wearing a Spanx and see if holding it in some helps. I am going to give it one more shot and see what happens. If it is still pulling excessivlely I am going to ask my doc about it. I am thinking maybe since I have not used those muscles in so long maybe it is just par for the course. Today is the day after and I don't have any pain in the area so I am hoping it was just my muscles saying WHOA! LOL

  2. I have been banded around 7 months now. I have only done walking for exercise until today. Today I tried kickboxing at the gym to start changing it up and I could feel the muscles around my port pulling as I moved during exercise. It was not painful but it was very uncomforable and noticable. My port is located under my breasts smack center of my tummy about 6 inches above my belly button. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't want to pull it out of place. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

  3. @@Glennda Today exactly I am one month post op. The 24 pound loss actually includes my 2 week pre-op diet too. So, I actually lost 24 pounds in a month and a half. Thank you! It has for sure been a journey but one that I am still so excited about and looking forward to. Even though my surgery was only a month ago I feel like it was forever ago. Take care! and welcome to the losers bench. Your weight will be will falling off soon if it hasn't already!

  4. I am almost 3 weeks post-op lap band. Who am I? I have never taken drugs/speed before but I am assuming this is what it feels like. I can't sleep. I am wide awake and FULL of energy. I have a hard time falling asleep and when I do sleep it is only for a few hours. I can't sit still when I am awake. This is so not me. I googled insomnia and bariatric surgery and it said that I may be in ketosis. What I want to know is how do I make it go away because I feel out of control almost? My mind is racing at the speed of lighting. Has anyone else experienced this before after surgery?

    Thanks!

  5. Today I am 10 days post op Lap band. I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could shed some light on for me.

First let me tell you a little about what my doc's post op orders are for me at this point. I am on thick liquids now till Friday when I begin mushys. I have been having a Protein drink for Breakfast and cream Soups for lunch and dinner. If I am hungry in between I eat SF Jello. My first fill is scheduled for 2/5. Here are my questions:

    1) Will this gas in my tummy ever go away? Will I always be gassy and bloated? I don't have the pain in my shoulder gas anymore just in my tummy.

    2) I only have a BM like once a week. Is this normal 10 days post op? Should I take a stool softener to help? I walk everyday now 2+ miles and drink fluids.

3)I have quit losing weight for 4 days now. I only eat about 400-500 a day and exercise. Just seems like the scale should move some.

I love this site and Thank you in advance for any insight on these questions. I go for my 1st follow up tomorrow to see my surgeon.

  6. Good to know that it gets better because this girl is hungry. EEK. You are so right about the feeling going away pretty quickly after I drink something. I just wish it would last longer. I am assuming this is why they say when you are eating regular foods don't eat/drink sliders because you will not stay full and in turn eat more and not lose weight. @@needtorecover are you eating regular food yet? What stage are you at in your post-op diet? Have you had your first fill? Sorry for all the questions I am just curious in what is to come. Thanks!

  7. Holy cow! It is the evening of my 4th day post-op and out of the blue my tummy is yelling at me in hunger! Where in the heck did that come from so suddenly? LOL I have not been hungry for days. I'm drinking a Protein Shake and it is helping some but whoa. I was not expecting that. I'm still on Clear Liquids except for my Protein Shakes. I start my thick liquids on Friday. Come on Friday I need some Cream of chicken. Never thought I would be excited about Cream of Chicken. When did your appetite return post-op, just curious?

  8. I was told a heating pad but I found that an electric blanket is working better because it is larger and I can cover the shoulder area much better. It is helping me tremendously. Don't forget to walk as much as you can too. It will get better. My surgery was just yesterday but this is what is working for me so far.

  9. I know everyone is different but can some of you tell me how long you think I should stay home after surgery? I mainly sit at a desk all day but will I even feel like doing that 3 days after LB? I am having surgery on a Friday and going back to work on Tuesday. My doctor just says everyone is different and needs are different. Please give me your thoughts and advise. Thanks!

  10. Super excited, no wait, scared, no, I think nervous...Okay all of the above and then some.

My emotions are all over the place. I start my pre-op diet on Jan. 2nd. and will be banded on Jan. 15th. Looking for friends to chat with and that understand what I am going through. I have supportive family and friends but they don't really understand. I am sure they are pretty sick of hearing about it anyway. I have two days left of eating the "old" way. I feel like I am freaking out wondering what all i need to eat before the two days is up. Did/does anyone else feel this way? Thanks!
