Sparkle777 how are you doing?
-
How's everyone progressing?
My surgery was on December 8 and I'm 15.7 pounds down. Not too happy, feeling like it should be more.
-
Congrats!!!

????????????????????????

yes I have that same problem. But I like the lean and tones look versus flabbyTwo months post operation and 55 pound (25kg) down. Not quite half of my goal but defiantly on right track. I started gym two weeks ago been going about 4 days week and also do swimming 5 days week. I have found since I been working out my weight loss have slow down. It's bit frustrating but I hope it's due gaining muscle. Anyone with same problem?

You're doing great. If you don't mind sharing what was your start weight?
-
Congrats!!! It will be here before you know it!!

Well, I overdid it yesterday; paying for it today. I find sitting up on my own is easier, but I am dizzy and the nausea is back. I didn't have to take a nausea pill yesterday. Swallowing is easier. So... I am going to wander over to the couch today and repent.[/quoteAre you able to keep any fluids down?
-
I ended up in the ER the night of the surgery and admitted for two days. I couldn't get pain relief from the oxy+acet. I needed stronger narcotics. IV fluids, nausea, and pain meds helped. Home yesterday and slept away much of the day which became up all night which is working itself out today. The pain meds now are fine. Urine is a good color, so my hydration is okay. Got some liquid Protein in me, but not enough. Walked a bit around the home depot and was naptastic after. Tomorrow promises to be better still. You?
Emilie sorry to
Hear you had some troubles! For the most part I'm ok. I'm playing it safe with the amount of physical activity still but other than that I'm good. I'm walking, drank about 50 ounces of Water today and some protein. No complaints.

Got my sleeve on the 8th. Keep in touch.
How are you feeling so far?
-
Saying a prayer for everyone!! You will all do wonderful. I was sleeved on Monday and as of This moment I am down 10 pounds - even through the pain I know this was the best decision for me and my life. Best wishes!! Please update us when you're feeling up to it!
-
Congrats on getting your date moved up! I was just sleeved on Monday and I too feel so blessed to have my insurance approve it, giving me a new lease on life!

My husband is the only person that is aware of my decision and I will keep it that way as I I don't feel a need to announce my private health information to the masses.

everyone is different but my recovery was good. In the hospital I could get up and walk around with very little discomfort
at home I camped out in our recliner, going from sitting to standing, or standing to sitting put pressure on the incisions and that hurt some, especially the main incision. And laying flat put a lot of pressure the first week and a half or so so I slept in the recliner at a 45 degree angle. The biggest complaint I had was back pain and that lasted a month-ish. But I never had to take a single pain pill, not even a tylenol
Thank you Sophie! I was able to walk around the hospital with very little issue as well. Now that I'm home I seemingly feel less discomfort when I'm sitting up than I do laying down. My back is bothering me as well. Thanks for sharing!

I am 3 weeks post op and I am soooo jealous of you. I AM SICK OF LIQUIDS!!! 2 weeks of liquids pre op, 2 weeks of clear liquids post op, 2 weeks of liquids (including blended up soup), then 2 weeks of pureed, then FINALLY... drum roll...... real freaking food!!!
I am doing great other than that
No problems to speak of!
How are you @@ladee2279???? How do you feel? Take those pain meds!!
I am doing well spirit wise, however k am struggling getting all the fluids in and I'm dealing with pain as well. I was trying not to take pain meds that often but will take some today.
Are you still sore? In any form of pain?
-
Are you two still very sore?
-
Hope you are both doing well! I'm looking forward to hearing your updates.
-
After you were sleeved, how long did it take for the pain and discomfort to subside?
-
Best wishes. You will be fine. I just had mine yesterday and I'm home recovering now.
-
It's been just over 24 hours. No gas pain, no nausea. I'm off the IV and onto paracetamol and ibuprofen. Only issues are tiredness and some pain at the main incision.I should be right to go home tomorrow if I can get a litre of fluids today.
How are my fellow 8th December sleevers going? Hope everyone is doing well!
I just got sleeved yesterday, came home today around noon. Still tired and in some pain/discomfort. Finding a comfortable sleeping position is hard at this moment.

Thanks.

I am one day post op! Looking for any suggestions you have...

You started down this road for a reason. The tumor should serve as an example as to one of the reasons that surgery would be of a benefit to you. Carrying excess weight increases our risk for cancer and other illnesses. If you opt to not go through with the surgery please make sure that is your decision and not others.

I have a Fitbit Aria wifi/Bluetooth scale that works with my Fitbit and I love it. It calculates weight and BMI and syncs to my Fitbit dashboard every time I weigh myself and charts the progress nicely.

Brenda I too was concerned about the fact that others seemed to be losing at a quicker rate than I and my surgeon and nutritionist both spoke to the higher your BMI is the quicker you will lose.
