  1. Have you been overweight your entire life? Have you tried structured diet plans and workout plans and continually failed? If so - and you're battling additional health problems due to the excessive weight then clearly this may be the route for you. Try not to psyche yourself out of the losers bench.

    Food intake mushy stage

Exactly! A healthy weight loss without losing muscle mass and hair is a win-win situation. You will have high months and very low months in regards to scale numbers. But, ensure you measure your body monthly to see the difference in inches.

    No weight loss?

That's definitely understandable. But, try as much as you can to stay hydrated. Use the 2oz red cups every 15-20 minutes throughout the day and you can hopefully get it down that way. [emoji3]

    Food intake mushy stage

Never deflect your loss as "not impressive." That is 10 pounds more than last month. So, congrats on the loss so far! [emoji3][emoji1474]

    I screwed up

In addition - during the "soft" phase make sure you make whatever protein you're consuming as mushy as possible. For instance - if you try salmon again it must be mixed with a liquid to change the consistency. So, if you like low-fat Italian dressing or balsamic vinaigrette use a tbsp of that to mush your protein so it is sleeve friendly. Good luck!

    I screwed up

I would advise you to notify your surgeon of your mishap. You're in the greatest risk and stages of a leak - so, you would want to rule that out.

    No weight loss?

Yes it is normal especially with the shock your body experienced. Are you on a liquid diet, if so, are you ensuring you hit your minimum protein and water levels daily?

    Whats up everyone?!

Banded July 2003 SW: 330pds and lost 105pds. Was originally a size 24/3X and now size 14/16. Lowest was a 10/12. Kept it off for over a decade and gained 20pds recently which isn't a big feat to lose. Only had 3 fills over the course of being banded and I honestly love the fact that I have complete control and I can tolerate all foods and I know when to walk away from a plate on my own.
  13. Hey BG! I wanted to say first and foremost congratulations for venturing this far in your journey. Overall - if you tried all other avenues and it constantly rendered inadequate results then I feel you're making the best decision for you to get back on track. But I will caution you this surgery is just an assistive tool. In the beginning due to swelling and being scared to push the bank limits you will be cautious but the band will stretch and you may notice more food will probably be needed to keep you fuller longer. So just ensure that as of today you're changing your eating habits for your new lifestyle. Eating right and making the best nutritious choices will be key for your success and an active lifestyle. So hang in there and just know you will be just fine! Keep us posted on your success!
