    Two Weeks to Go!

You are going to relax and let your body heal itself! Take this opportunity to do what you want to (I don't mean extreme sports either) and chill. Right, that's you toldx
  2. Two things for this thread. Firstly, regarding the mosquito bites. My other half is a magnet for flea bites and is highly allergic to them. Since cutting out sugar in his numerous cups of tea (he is a builder and they are powered by tea) and replacing it with Agave syrup the fleas have stopped biting him. He's soooooo pleased. Secondly, Chris-I'm not going to clutter up this thread with things that interest no-one but us so I'm going to leave you a personal message! Don't worry you nosey mob-it's only to do with machines and Banstead!!! Happy weekend one and all.
  3. Whereabouts are you coming to in London over the weekend Chris? Just in case I unknowingly bump into you of course-not being nosey at all!

    Two Weeks to Go!

Happy Birthday for Friday Lulu. Have a great time. Hope your visa comes through OK. Rosie Cheeks, let your knee heal before you even think about exercising. Now, apologies for making light about your Granny's demise, but I sincerely hope she is somewhere sitting in judgement of you and stopping you getting yourself into a complete stress meltdown! Keep posting how you're feeling-better to let rip and feel that you're getting things off your chest rather than keeping all your feelings to yourself. Let it go girl!!!!

    Two Weeks to Go!

RosieCheeks, don't you dare get despondent! Don't kill your granny. Or anyone else for that matter!!!! Prison food is not the best idea when you need a precise type of nutrition! Will you stop stressing, please? Pretty please? Rome was not built in a day and neither can you be UNBUILT in a month. Patience woman! NO-one said this was going to be a quick fix. Thank heavens it isn't. Us sleevers need time to adjust to how our bodies deal with food post op. It takes our brains a bit of time to get used to what our new tummies discover very quickly. I mean, before your surgery, when did you last feel completely stuffed? I hadn't felt full for YEARS!!!! My brain had no concept of what 'full' meant. It is slowly learning now as my stomach has to keep reminding it. Poor little brain is also having to learn the difference between plain greed and proper hunger. Add to all this going on, your metabolism has had a major sea change and has to re-adjust to the new quantities of food that it has to process. Blimey, hope you're not trying to be Superwoman? Give yourself a break. You are still healing for gawd's sake. You will be for some time to come. Just let the ounces dribble away slowly but surely and don't fret. It IS happening. Don't try to rush things. Anyway, how long did it take you to pile the weight on? Bet the whole process took a damn site longer than a month! Point made. I shall shut up now[emoji6][emoji8]

Before and after in your sixties

OK, I've got 4 months until I hit sixty but I do take your point- but pleeeeeeeeeease let me be an honorary member of this group and thread until then.

    Surgery today 5/20

That losers bench is a lovely place to be! If you recent sleevers are anything like me you will be walking around looking like complete idiots due to the permanent smile plastered on your faces soon, due to the pounds departing your frames. I'm 8 months out and LOVING my journey. Stick to what you are told to do, stay close to this site, and you won't go too far wrong. Pre-op Oct 15 Two weeks ago

Before and after in your sixties

Just remember that it keeps getting better and better.
  9. You're posting on the gastric sleeve thread of the U.K. site but you have just mentioned that you're having the band. Two very different surgical procedures with two entirely different post operative ways of eating. Think you may have to post on a forum that deals with the band as opposed to other forms of WLS. Good luck.

    Help needed from MFP expert

Just to add to the last comment. Map my Walk and my Shine have different ideas of how far I have gone on my dog walks. I too take it with a pinch of salt but at least it gives me a fairly good picture of what I have done for the day.

    Help needed from MFP expert

Have you made sure that you have set your goals? Bottom right hand side of bar that is on every page the is a thumbnail that says 'more'. Click on that and you will see 'goals' third down from the top. Click on that and you should be able to set things up to suit your own purpose. If that doesn't work, ummmmm.............Google it!!!!!!!!!! Good luck
  12. It's been nagging at me for ages KF who you remind me of. I've got it! It's UK comedian Vic Reeves. You're the spit of him. Mmmmmm..............he's very attractive and very funny. Very like you my little Antipodean treasure x

    5 day pouch test

Get a copy from Amazon then you can keep it for future reference. I got mine as a safety blanket-just in case!
  14. Oh my poor wee soul I shall stop chastising you for being such a flibbertygibbet with your affections. Sending you a big cuddle over the ether. I'm sure that you really DO have a life my little flower. I hope that you're not just trying to get a harem of soft hearted women rushing to you. If that is the case you will get a seriously smacked bottom.

    4 years post op-vsg

Thank you for this thread. It serves to remind me that once the initial euphoria with getting rid of the excess poundage wears off, the job of remaining sylph like really starts. Bit like a marriage once the honeymoon period is over and reality sets in! Your comments guys are now etched into my brain and hopefully they will serve me well in future. When (not even an 'if') I decide to that I don't have to adhere to the WLS suggestions, then I will forward the video to what could happen in the future to my body. I need to remember where I came from. My journey needs to be as my journey from alcoholism has been. I stuck close to AA for years and took on board things that I heard at meetings. It is still my touchstone to keep me sober. BP is going to be the same for me with food and my weight.
  16. Morning my little Antipodean treasure. Thought that you weren't talking to us as you have been VERY quiet for the last couple of days. Thought you might have got the hump because we caught you out being unfaithful in your affections to Ms LipstickLady. Tsk tsk. You bounder sir. Yep this thread is still toddling along.
  17. Don't worry RosieCheeks, it won't be long until you are traipsing around with an idiot grin permanently on your face due to the fact that you are feeling how us veterans are. I'm going to be locked up soon for walking around looking like a complete ditz! My life now compared to this time last year? No contest!

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

Glad us short arses can be known as petite. I discovered whilst at the very beginning of my WLS journey that I was no longer 5'6" but somewhere along the way had lost 3"!!!!!! I'm now 5'3". I know that my back is totally f****d and I've got a relatively new hip but THREE inches? Purleeeeese!!!! That's what happens when you are a ballet dancer in your youth. Everything falls to bits and you end up shrinking. Bit of a bum deal all things considered. Huuuummmmmph...............
  19. CHM just remember- think of him covered in haemorrhoid cream in a green Lycra mankini. [emoji6] Might just be your type of guy though and I could be speaking out of turn. If so, please forgive me. Takes all sorts I suppose......................

    Two Weeks to Go!

I forgot soup!!!! I ate loads of it. Shame about the eggs and fish. Let me have a think back properly to my first few months and I'll get back to you later x
  21. I know what is irking you Ms LipstickLady. It's because that unspeakable cad KindaFamiliar has moved his affections and no doubt just plain male lust to another, namely CHM. Listen hon, you've had a narrow escape. Just think of him covered in haemorrhoid cream in a green Lycra mankini. [emoji6]
  22. But I called MYSELF the sarky git!!!!!!! Don't be cross with me[emoji52] x

    Two Weeks to Go!

Hiya hon, first bit of advice is don't stress and don't try to be the WLS Superwoman!!!!! Take your time to get used to a new way of eating. I got my unflavoured Protein powder online as I hated the artificial taste of the flavoured ones. I used to get a banana, some Protein Powder, some skimmed milk powder, skimmed milk and ice and whizz it in the blender. It would normally last me a couple of days as my Breakfast. I did that for months. I also discovered PB2 Peanut Butter powder-Amazon-yummy! Added to shakes it's great-there's a peanut/chocolate version too. Get some cacao powder too as it can be added to shakes to get a chocolate hit. I must admit to playing around to get shakes that I liked but there were some that went down the drain!!!!!! I ate tons of lightly scrambled eggs when I first went onto food and bought cartons of egg whites (I found them in Waitrose around about the chilled pastry) and added them to get the extra protein content. I also perfected the art of chilli made with turkey mince. To start with, try making the chilli with just a TEENY bit of spice mix, enough to make it interesting but still gentle on your tummy. I found that I could eat salmon (in any form) easily and I've now made a yummy salmon pate in the food processor with Aldi Kiln Roasted Salmon and Waitrose lowest fat cream cheese. You can use smoked mackerel as an alternative. This works if you like fish!!!!!! A good standby once you start chewing again is to have some cooked chicken and salmon fillet in the fridge. I would cook a bundle of chicken thigh fillets and a lump of salmon so I always had a protein snack on hand. At the moment I'm going through a phase of having Parma, Serrano and Prosciutto ham and Bresaola in the fridge to nibble on. I know that purists might scorn that it's processed ham and meat and that there is a lot of salt in it but a bit of that and some juicy melon just hits the spot for me. Talking of which............I'm off for my elevenses of, yep, meat and melon in a minute. Let me know how you go but again I'm stressing the point-DON'T YOU STRESS!!!!!!! This journey is not a short one. There is no rush. Just enjoy all the little things that make you smile. Believe me, there will be lots
  24. Morning guys. Crack of dawn here in UK. Animals and husband hogging bed and still snoring. I couldn't resist a peek at this thread to keep my first cuppa of the morning company. Glad you've caught up KindaFamiliar. Wondered when you'd traipse onto this thread. You're flirting again boy..............you fickle male. Same old flannel just different girl! You're incorrigible. Just the other day it was LipstickLady who was the object of your affections but that seems to have died a death since I slipped the phrase 'green Lycra mankini' into that particular thread. Surprised that you didn't take the bait that the glaiket poster on this thread laid for you on your thread 'The Great Arse Face Experiment'. Here for the information (and no doubt delight) of your tribe of adoring female fans I paste the post: You look absolutely fantastic! You are lucky you can hide it with a beard. My face was never heavy if nobody saw anything but my face they would not know I was heavy. Anyway I know that hemorrhoid cream will plump up the skin and make wrinkles around the eyes temporarily disappear for a special night. But it is very temporary. I can't see how plumping up your neck would look better. I would think using a salt face cream would work better but it would also be temporary. In time your skin will catch up to your body. End of paste. Now why, I ask myself, didn't you take the clearly dangled bait, and then bite, ready to be reeled in to her? Hmmmmmmmm? You are clearly a man who can handle most things. Answers eagerly anticipated. Over to you Kinda xxxxxxxx
