  1. Over the last couple of days my emotions have been extreme. Extremely depressed, crying and feeling overwhelmed. I think it's just life. A lot is going on, I'm going back to work on 12/06, I work in a very stressful environment. Plus only two people at work with know I hard the surgery. Which is going to be it's own struggle.

Still struggling with this new way of eating. I'm struggling with getting enough Water and Protein. I don't feel like I'm losing enough weight. My sleeping schedule is backwards. I'm awake at night and sleep during the day. Once I'm a sleep, it's all I want to do. And this isn't even all of it.

    I'm just overwhelmed.

I'm wondering how some of you dealt with this kind of stress?

  2. I made this list before surgery. I wrote this list in my phone and added to it anytime I thought of anything. I'm posting this without reading it. I haven't thought about this list since before surgery. Be kind who knows what I wrote.

    Loose the extra weight

    * Learn how to surf- I am a Water baby, who loves the ocean, I want to learn a new way to enjoy it.

    * Learn how to scuba dive- once again I am a Water baby, love the ocean and want to experience all it had to offer.

    * Swim with sharks

    * Be able to run without it being a difficult activity- at least a mile

    * Have children

    * Be able to ride an airplane with our being self conscious about it

    * Once I have had children or a child or even adopted if necessary be able to play with them on the floor or run after being able to enjoy life with them.

    * Sky diving-they want individual to be under 250 and I'm not.

    * Be able to walk into a store and be able to find something that fits without to many issues.

    * Be able to buy a crappie bra from the store-just once

    * Not having to shop at lane Bryant

    * Being able to stop worrying about where the camera is, being able to be in front instead of hiding in the back.

    * tired of hearing well she was bigger than you, or you are smaller than she was.

    Having a defined chin.

Having an woman want to be me.

    I can't wait.

  4. I'm not trying to advertise for the company.

But they really are great. I've had my Up 24 band for a while. It stopped lighting up. I think I exposed it to Water to much to many times.

But I wrote an email to customer service, over a week ago. They called me several times. (I don't answer calls I don't know) they also sent several emails. Trying to contact me. Well finally I called them. They rep was super nice and walked me through resetting it. And when that didn't work, he's sending me a new upgraded band. So helpful.

Besides that the main reason I purchased a Jawbone product was the app, love it and it pars with myfitnesspal. I love them together.

I love my jawbone. Plus they are not horribly expensive like other bands. If your looking for a fitness band this is a brand to look into.

  5. I'm not married, but I've had similar thoughts. When I started my current relationship about 5 years ago I started dating a man who was also overweight like myself. He has been the most wonderful and support man. I really want him to lose some weight, he tries but not in the right way. He's trying to bulk up which hasn't really worked when it comes to losing weight. I just had the surgery, I'm really hopping that once he sees my progress he will become more motivated when it comes to losing weight.

You got married for a reason, and I doubt it was only for her appearance. Maybe write down everything you love or appreciate about her. You can even write down a list of things that you dislike or bother you about her. Really think about everything. Then look at these list and see if they are things you can live with. If they are things you can live with let them go. If there are major things you can't live with then maybe you need to evaluate your relationship.

  6. @@amtc1204 I know the feeling, things didn't get better for me until the second week. I was a mess, I started a journal and expressed everything in it daily. I haven't written in the journal lately but in those down days/ weeks. It really helped me. I refuse to look at the entries in the journal. I decided I will look at it, at my one year mark. That way I can see and appreciate what I have accomplished. At times I have issues with seeing how far I've I have come. Just remember you did this for a reason and please believe it will get better. It really will.

  7. @@whoahbabyy oh my gosh that does sound like a huge leap. Even walking a 5k would be too much for me let alone running it and having the full day planned after that! Good luck.

I am off blood pressure and cholesterol meds and have been cleared to walk outside with just a cane. The PT therapist and I walked two driveways down and back. I didn't use a walker just a cane.

@@L.Harmony welcome to the group. How are you doing post surgery?

Thanks 395ron, my doing well. So far healing well. I've been really surprised at it. Thanks for the welcome. I really wish I would have found this before I had surgery but after surgery works as well.

  8. I've been using the jars, I started it from the beginning. I took my highest weight and subtracted it from my current. I counted out that many stones and placed them in the pounds loss jar. Because those pounds count as well. It's nice to see and appreciate what I've already accomplish before surgery. Under this jar I placed a sticky note with the number of stones in it. Then to up date the jar I take my starting weight from my current weight.

    Example:

    Start weight: 297

    Current: 239

    Stones: 58

Leave sticky note under jar 58.

  9. I had my surgery on Oct 28 and I'm also losing slowly. It's upsetting to me when I completely changed my life and it still feels like a major battle. I've been told to be patient with my body, my body is still healing and not to worry and give my body time to adjust to the change. I bet you have already heard this, but know that your not alone in the frustration.

  10. I started writing it all down in a notebook. Every feeling and thought. Everything. Once it was down on paper I haven't looked at it. I figured I'll do that in a year. Since this is a decision I have to live with for the rest of my life. Just try writing it down, it can be very helpful. Sending positive thoughts your way. ^_^

  11. It gets better...I had the gastric bypass and the first week was really rough. I was a mess, questioning why I had the surgery, wanting to kill my boyfriend every time he cooked something. And the sad part is he was making things I normally wouldn't eat. He was really trying to be nice about it. But food is really everywhere. Stage 2 straight liquid, I have never been so happy to eat tomatoe Soup in my life. I hated stage 1 clear liquid. It gets better I swear. I'm on post op week three

I hope you end up feeling

  12. I have only told a few people, and I haven't posted anything on Facebook. I do not want people judging my progress. I can be my hardest critic I do not need anymore. Before surgery several coworkers and myself started seeing a doctor which had a program focused on really low carb, high Protein. I saw it as a way to prepare for my life after surgery. Well one coworker was able to loss a huge amount of weight doing it. I was able to lose around 25 to 35 pounds I was happy with my results. The coworker I worked with stopped eating a chicken breast for Breakfast and going to the gym twice a day. She gained some of the weight back. She received a bunch of negative comments from our coworkers because of the weight. While I was on the program I was asked almost daily about how much weight I had loss. Always wanting to know how many pounds. Not saying this would happen to everyone or anyone. The environment I work for is extremely different thank most people's. But the main reason is I do not want someone to judge my progress. My feelings on this may change.

I really do want to find a secret group on Facebook, any suggestions.
