    October List of Surgery's

I had my surgery Oct 28th, lately my emotions have been all over the place. I'm not sure why, I'm thinking some of the reasons are: Being off of my birth control for so long. Adjusting to the change. Holidays And more. . My question is since surgery has anyone else have some emotional days?

    October List of Surgery's

Is there anywhere else all of the individuals on the October list on a different forum?
  3. It was my third surgery and it's human nature to be nervous and scared of the unknown. In Sept of this year I had foot surgery and it was such a difficult surgery. I was so nervous about my surgery because of it. My doctor told me that it is an easier surgery than foot. I was questioning it.... but I was then reminded that it took a year to get everything together and ready. And wrote down a list of all of the reasons I wanted the surgery. And I kept adding to it. I mainly remember the week before I was nervous but I'm a month out and can barely remember those feelings. It is worth it. I do recommend getting a notebook and start writing down all of these thoughts, feelings, doubts and reasons. I'm not going to read my notebook until my one year mark. Those are my thoughts, just know you are not alone. It is normal. Plus everyone is different, I was in the hospital for 2 days. After a day or two I forgot I had just had surgery. Being nervous is necessary for the process.
  4. Congratulations, I was lucky and didn't need to have one.... theyb told me, I was really close to needing one. Congratulations, so happy for you.

    Fun thread !

I made this list before surgery. I wrote this list in my phone and added to it anytime I thought of anything. I'm posting this without reading it. Jawbone

One of my favorite features of the jawbone is the sleep track and the vibrates alarms you can set. They are sending me an Up2, loved my Up24.
  8. I've been told to add powdered milk to meal. My doctor hasn't said anything not using protein shakes but I'm just about to start my fourth week. Speaking of protein shakes, I was using this one brand before surgery and now I can't stand it. Anyone have any recommendations of different brands of protein?
  9. Definitely make sure your dentist knows you have an up coming surgery. And make sure your surgeon knows about the tooth. If your already on an antibiotic them make sure your surgeon knows. When is your wl surgery scheduled? Hopefully the antibiotics do not interfere with it.
  10. Think these things over, as a woman do not show her the list. That will start one hell of a fight at my house, if I found a list like that, I know I'm being a hypocrite about it. It may take a few days or even a week to write and figure out what you can live with and what can't. But do not do anything to extreme.
  11. I'm not married, but I've had similar thoughts. When I started my current relationship about 5 years ago I started dating a man who was also overweight like myself. He has been the most wonderful and support man. I really want him to lose some weight, he tries but not in the right way. He's trying to bulk up which hasn't really worked when it comes to losing weight. I just had the surgery, I'm really hopping that once he sees my progress he will become more motivated when it comes to losing weight. You got married for a reason, and I doubt it was only for her appearance. Maybe write down everything you love or appreciate about her. You can even write down a list of things that you dislike or bother you about her. Really think about everything. Then look at these list and see if they are things you can live with. If they are things you can live with let them go. If there are major things you can't live with then maybe you need to evaluate your relationship.

    One week post op

@@amtc1204 I know the feeling, things didn't get better for me until the second week. I was a mess, I started a journal and expressed everything in it daily. I haven't written in the journal lately but in those down days/ weeks. It really helped me. I refuse to look at the entries in the journal. I decided I will look at it, at my one year mark. That way I can see and appreciate what I have accomplished. At times I have issues with seeing how far I've I have come. Just remember you did this for a reason and please believe it will get better. It really will.

    It's been a good day.

I've been using the jars, I started it from the beginning. I took my highest weight and subtracted it from my current. I counted out that many stones and placed them in the pounds loss jar. Because those pounds count as well. It's nice to see and appreciate what I've already accomplish before surgery. Under this jar I placed a sticky note with the number of stones in it. Then to up date the jar I take my starting weight from my current weight. Example: Start weight: 297 Current: 239 Stones: 58 Leave sticky note under jar 58.

    Slower than I expected

I had my surgery on Oct 28 and I'm also losing slowly. It's upsetting to me when I completely changed my life and it still feels like a major battle. I've been told to be patient with my body, my body is still healing and not to worry and give my body time to adjust to the change. I bet you have already heard this, but know that your not alone in the frustration.
  16. My surgery was on October 28th, I feel like I haven't been losing enough weight. I've been at a standstill for almost a week. I've been exercising multiple times a week. Thoughts?

    One week post op

I started writing it all down in a notebook. Every feeling and thought. Everything. Once it was down on paper I haven't looked at it. I figured I'll do that in a year. Since this is a decision I have to live with for the rest of my life. Just try writing it down, it can be very helpful. Sending positive thoughts your way.

    One week post op

It gets better...I had the gastric bypass and the first week was really rough. I was a mess, questioning why I had the surgery, wanting to kill my boyfriend every time he cooked something. And the sad part is he was making things I normally wouldn't eat. He was really trying to be nice about it. But food is really everywhere. Stage 2 straight liquid, I have never been so happy to eat tomatoe soup in my life. I hated stage 1 clear liquid. It gets better I swear. I'm on post op week three I hope you end up feeling

    Trial by Social media

I have only told a few people, and I haven't posted anything on Facebook. I do not want people judging my progress. I can be my hardest critic I do not need anymore. Before surgery several coworkers and myself started seeing a doctor which had a program focused on really low carb, high protein. I saw it as a way to prepare for my life after surgery. Well one coworker was able to loss a huge amount of weight doing it. I was able to lose around 25 to 35 pounds I was happy with my results. The coworker I worked with stopped eating a chicken breast for breakfast and going to the gym twice a day. She gained some of the weight back. She received a bunch of negative comments from our coworkers because of the weight. While I was on the program I was asked almost daily about how much weight I had loss. Always wanting to know how many pounds. Not saying this would happen to everyone or anyone. The environment I work for is extremely different thank most people's. But the main reason is I do not want someone to judge my progress. My feelings on this may change. I really do want to find a secret group on Facebook, any suggestions.
