update: I was able to make some phone calls today to find out what's going on... My county dropped UCARE for BLUEPLUS. Before that from Nov till Feb first we were in some kind of limbo without being told! I was going to have my surgery at Essentia Duluth with Dr Bettendorf. However they are out of network for Blueplus and I'll need to transfer to Abbott Northwestern in the Twin Cities (that's 6 hours south of me!) The good news is that it seems everythign will transfer and I'll only need to attend the seminar online, take the test and fill out the forms (already completed this today!) They will get my records and I'll need to meet with the surgeon and their NUT once and then he'll order any additional tests and submit for ins coverage then set a date! Sounds easy. So thankful for this answer to prayer!

ive been kinda thinking up stuff to tell people when they see me losing after my surgery. havent decided to the truth or just say i diet/exercise. my plan is to be honest but vague. Something along the lines of "thanks, hard work and great tools". But I'm sure I'll put my foot in it at some point. I'm still pre-surgery!

Hmmm....and unless you speak with the ins ppl you will not know if they also collected money from them in addition to what they took from you.

What is the time from contact to surgery? Do you need a full passport? How long would I be there.(we have no babysitters so my dh would have to stay home from work the whole time)

We have state ins that was covering everything. Just got a letter saying they are changing us from care to blue plus. Anyone know or guess if they will still cover surgery?

oh golly! I'm so sorry! Thyroid usually takes 2 weeks for you to feel the effects but it takes 3 months to regulate in your blood. (Former LPN, current thyroid patient)

I didn't have to. And I haven't. Maybe a pound or two. I'm finding the nut diet very difficult. I actually do and feel better when I do things like replace a meal with a slim fast shake. It's a huge no no though. So I put what they want and do my own thing. I know that if I went to Mexico I wouldn't have to jump through these hoops so since I eat healthy and balanced I am only concerned that they will keep dragging it out. In a lot of ways I know that it hasn't been an unreasonable amount of time. I see the surgeon next Tuesday and then another psych on Thursday. (Total of 12 hours driving with a 6 yo and a baby) I passed the required psych test and eval so I don't know what this one is about. Ugh

I complete my 6 months passed my psych eval and testing with flying colors. Meeting with the surgeon on the 11th of Jan and then they want yet another psych visit with a Dr in their company *eyeroll*. Praying for early Feb!

i know it sounds crazy but hey, having most of a vital organ remove is too....what about temporarily moving to a state like mine that has ins which covers wls? Is it out of the question for you? Or tax $ in Mexico?

Anatomy question first... If the air is pumped into the abdominal cavity how does it move into the intestines to be passed out of the body? And I'm scared of it so does anyone have great tips for relief?

I was the opposite. In 2001 I had breast reduction. My regret is that they all told me I would be able to breast feed and I could not ( it's in fact rare to be able to fully bf after surgery depending on how and what they cut.) I don't know how your sleeve will effect healing. Sorry I'm no help but I did want you to know to ask about and research bf if you aren't finished having babies and want to bf.
