  1. Don't do it alone. If you have someone who loves and supports you have them there. This is an emotional process as well as painful. Best of luck
  2. Ok. So I know many of us have talked about head hunger. I think I am experiencing my head hunger at night when I am bored. I used to snack late at night and I find myself hungry again at these times. What are you doing to help with head hunger?
  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't want to confess the whole truth to everyone. I told people I was having a hernia repair which I did at the same time. Some of my family knows and some friends. But not everyone needs to know my business.
  4. My doctor never discussed it.
  5. I was a bawling mess for a few days and still have emotional moments. My hormones are just getting settled and it's a strange but normal thing. I hope yours gets better.
  6. Gas x didn't help me as much. I needed to get up and move more. That helped a lot.
  7. How long post surgery do you need to wait to have a glass of wine or some form of alcohol without carbonation?
  8. You all have done so well and look great! I'm just 6 days post op but can't wait to have before and after pics.
  9. Today is 6 days since my surgery. I've been home for 2 days after some complications in the hospital. Each day I feel a little better. But I still have some gas that I cannot get out. It travels into my ribs and backs and can be so painful. Sorry if that is TMI. If anyone has any pointers to getting rid of it I would be very appreciative. I have also been taking my meds the doctor sent home. But one pill (Carafate) is pretty large and it HURTS going down. Then I get nauseous quickly after taking it. I'm going to call the doctor and see if they have it in liquid. But like I said before each day is better than the last so I'll keep praying that I recover quickly.
  10. I am not having that problem. But they mentioned it in our pre op classes and said to call the doctor. Most likely they will give you a stool softener but call first to see what you can take. Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.
  11. I also had the Hiatal hernia repaired. I think it gives me more pain than the surgery. So you are lucky if it hasn't been too bad. When I swallow anything but especially when I take meds it hurts for a few seconds like I have been stabbed. It passes and I'm ok. I was told to sleep elevated some. And make sure the bites are very small until it heals. I hope yours gets better and if you gets any advice that works please send it forward.
  12. I get hungry but I quickly figured out that I can't eat much. I tried to finish a cup of jello and got very nauseous. So I know it working. Sometimes it's mind over matter. Your mind could still be tricking you and not used to the changes. Stick on your path. You'll do great!!
  13. It's been 4 days post op. I'm finally going home and feeling much better. Thank you all for the support and prayers. It has been a rougher road for me but I survived and feel optimistic about everything going forward.
  14. It's been 4 days post op. I'm finally going home and feeling much better. Thank you all for the support and prayers.
  15. Day 2 post op has not been very good either. I had to receive blood and have an upper GI done. No leaks which is good. I'm just exhausted. Praying it gets better. The pain is better I just need to figure out why my blood is decreasing. Prayers to being on the mend.
  16. I'm not going to lie. I'm miserable. Yesterday was surgery and my recovery was horrible. I had a scare last night sugar really high and I had a seizure. But much better today. I'll be here another night says the doctor. They want to make sure I'm able to get around. Prayers are much appreciated.
  17. Yelp!! Surgery is tomorrow. I have to be honest I am so very nervous. This is a new and exciting life change for me that I have been working towards for a long time. But I'm still nervous. Praying it goes well and this is the start of my happy and healthy new life!
  18. I do not have a fever at all. No cough. No drainage of any sort. Just pretty bad headache and jaw pain. It's making me miserable. But I do t want to miss my surgery.
  19. I have this horrible sinus infection right now. My ear, jaw, and canal are hurting pretty bad. I had a z pack last week but I'm finished with it ans the pain is bad. I have surgery Thursday and I don't want to complicate that. Anyone have this issue?
  20. I have found the best protein powder tha you can get unflavored. It is called Isopure. It's much much better than all that other stuff. So happy I was able to find this stuff!!
  21. I have surgery the 19th and haven't been able to get all the shakes in. I ate more than what is said but not too much. I am hoping this isn't an issue. I know we are just doing this to shrink the liver. I'm praying I can work it out as well.
  22. I have started my pre-op diet. It's not purely liquid. I get a very small meal of chicken or protein for dinner. I'm on day 2. It's been hard. I hate shakes but I'm powering through this. Have you started yet?
  23. Best of luck to you. My surgery date is the day before yours. I look forward to seeing how you are doing.
  24. Thank you all for being so supportive!!! I'm trying to keep my head in the game right now.
