    1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control are not natural.
    2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people cannot get legally married because the world needs more children.
    3. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children because straight parents only raise straight children.
    4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful, since Britney Spears's 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.
    5. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and it hasn't changed at all: women are property, Blacks can't marry Whites, and divorce is illegal.
    6. Gay marriage should be decided by the people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of minorities.
    7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are always imposed on the entire country. That's why we only have one religion in America.
    8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people makes you tall.
    9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage license.
    10. Children can never succeed without both male and female role models at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
    11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to cars or longer lifespans.
    12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages will for gays & lesbians.

I've seen this a while ago and couldn't remember where, but found it today and am hoping it's not a repost :)

  1. If the tables were turned and homosexuality was the majority, and heterosexual was seen as 'differen't and 'sin', I wonder if all the perople arguing against gay marriage today would not fight for a right to get married too.

What if God came down from heaven and told us all today that homosexuality is holy, and heterosexuality is sin. Would all the faithful christians drop their opposite sex partner and decide they must follow God's word?

If everyone's bibles said that being heterosexual is wrong, I doubt we would have any major religions these days. Or we'd have a bunch of different ones that some dude started because he was straight and sick of being treated like a sinner for it.

  2. I believe in God, but I don't believe we all have a personal relationship with God.

When I hear people saying that God saved them from an accident, or helped them come out of problems etc, I think that they are blind.

Yeah God helped some woman come out of a bad car crash, but let hundreds of thousands of people die during the tsunami. He saved a child from drowning, but let all the other children be kidnapped, raped, and murdered brutally. He helped you pay mortgage last month, but allowed thousands of women be brutally beaten by their husbands. He did all these miracles for certain individuals, but somehow overlooked all the people who are beat, cut, raped, murdered, killed and buried under houses (John Wayne Gacy), and whatever else.

If we are all children of God, does he love his praying Christians more than all the other people who experience real pain and tragedy?

I believe in God, the creator of earth and life, but I don't believe he is there for us. I think he made our world, made us, gave us the gift of free will, and said "Here you go!" and that was it.

Prayer is powerful, in my opinion, but its just something we do to make ourselves feel better. I don't think he can hear us.

How can I think God can hear a prayer when a child is stolen from his parents and later found raped and dead in a river. I can only imagine how much parents of missing children pray. Being a parent myself, that is truly the worst pain a parent can feel.

  3. I beg to differ, Carlene. There are plenty of individuals who are attracted to members of the same gender and choose not to become sexually involved with them. We all make choices every day. Countless married people make choices not to become sexually involved with persons other than their spouse, no matter how attracted they are.

Granted, the attraction in some individuals is stronger than others -- just like some individuals are more predisposed to have addictive personalities or become alcoholics -- but the choice to have sex, take drugs, drink alcohol or any number of other things is, nevertheless, a choice. You may believe it is a propensity that cannot be overcome; I believe otherwise. And I know people who have both chosen to succumb to it and who have chosen to overcome it.

I don't understand why should a gay person choose not to be with someone of the same sex? I think everyone is entitled to find a partner that completes them and makes them happy. If a HOMOSEXUAL is not attracted to the opposite sex, should they just be alone for ever?

What if someone told you that it was a terrible sin to be heterosexual? Would you be happy never being kissed, touched, or made love to by a man?

Very few people can turn off their sexuality, even priests can't do it. If it was so easy, there would be no sex crime, no priests molesting small boys, no fathers raping their daughters, and no men buying hookers. Sexuality is a very strong drive, sometimes uncontrollable. I am not saying it is an excuse, because logic and morality should always overcome simple desire, but if it's two consenting adults, why not? Why stop myself from my natural desire and instinct and suffer? I can just be who I am and live a life not deprived of sexual fulfillment.

  4. I have it right now. I have very sensitive senses of sight and smell, so whenever I look too hard or too closely at something, or smell perfumes I get Migraine headaches. Its not common to get Migraines more often than 3 times a month, but I have them two or three times a week usually. Sometimes daily, but not often. I have to learn to avoid triggers but I mostly just take an imitrex and they go away. Thankfully my migraines are very mild, because although they are a real migraine, they are not too hard to live with. The pain stays pretty mild usually. I feel very sorry for people who have very strong migraines. I have expereinced a few very strong ones and they are terrible.

  5. If all people were athiest, would we ever have war?

Wouldn't it just be one big happy world with no real differences?

Other than looks, people mostly differ from one another by their beliefs, and most beliefs are shaped by religion. If we all believed that we have no creator, and noone to worship, and nothing to follow, wouldn't we just 'be'? Wouldn't it be beautiful to love each other out of simple desire for peace and love and not put heaven as an alterior motive for everything good that we do?

  6. A while ago I was at a birthday party for my nephew and some of my brother's friends were there. I got into a small debate with one of his male friends over gay parents/gay adoption. I thought I was going to rip his hair out, this person was so hurtful it made me literally shut myself in the bathroom and cry.

He told me, straight to my face, that he believes that a child is better off without parents than gay ones. He believes that a homeless child in africa is better off there, than here in the loving arms of two men or women.

How pathetic, scary, and ridiculus is that?

  7. I have not read all the posts so I may be repeating something someone else wrote. I'm not arguing anyone as again, I don't know what was written, but I would like to share my view.

I am emotionally and physically drawn to men and women. I feel a 'need' and 'desire' to be with a woman as much as a man. I have been with women before and the experience gave me fulfillment bigger than I thought I could imagine.

When I am with a man, I often feel unhappy of having to pleasure him because it seems unappealing, while when I am with a woman, I absolutely enjoy every moment and it gives me an emotional high. Touching, kissing, feeling another women is simply incredible and without it I could not feel completely happy. But once in a while I meet a man who I ache to be with and feel very unhappy when I can't. It's just as strong physically as it is emotionally, and I know that I CAN NOT control those feelings/urges. I CAN control what I do, and sometimes I choose not to act on those urges.

When someone tells me that being gay is a choice, I say it's true. I can choose not to be with a woman, but noone can ever tell me that feeling gay is a choice, because that is simply NOT TRUE. I can not help feeling bi-sexual.

For me personally, it comes down to the person. Sometimes I feel attracted to a man, sometimes to a woman, but in the end I am with the one who makes me happy.

    Am I a sinner? I wonder...

  8. I'm no expert either, but if you're only a few weeks along, I doubt the developing fetus was in any danger.

Take good care of yourself and forget about getting a fill until you've given birth. Right now you need to feed your little angel :)

Good luck and keep us posted :)
