I waited about a week also, as the person before said just be careful! Some positions are not so comfortable!

I do not regret my band either, I have been banded almost 2 months. You do get frustrated as you are having to re-train yourself to eat smaller bites and chew alot. I have lost 38lbs so far and I am down 4 pant sizes! It is so worth it! Good Luck!

Hi everyone, I just joined DFW Bandsters today and I am very interested in when ya'll have meetings or anything I can get involved in. Could someone please give me information on your group! Thank you so much!

sugar free popsicles, pudding, (believe it or not that consider that a liquid) gatorade, beef broth, applesauce, I did all those. I am just now on mushy food and loving it! :pray2:

I went to a seminar about December 12th, had my consultation a week later and then had my surgery on January 4th. I was a self pay so it is a much faster process. I need to loose 80lbs and I have lost 20 so far. I had my surgery on Friday and went back to work on Monday even though I was still tired. You start feeling really good around the 4th-5th day. They want you to talk to a physchiatrist to make sure you are really ready for this surgery, since it is a life changing surgery. You have to put alot of work into this surgery to make it a sucess. It is not easy believe me! Well good luck with your journey!

I have a feeling they will not cover your surgery being you have no other "co-morbitites" such as High blood pressure, diabetes, things of that nature. It is VERY hard to get insurances to pay for this surgery. I just went self pay as it is much easier that way. Good Luck in your journey!

Hi Chell, I was banded on 1/4/08 and I love it so far. I have lost 22lbs already. Surgery was simple, little sore after, I went back to work 2 days later! I go for my first fill on 2/4/08, but as of right now, I am not hungry at the least bit! It will be a great decision for you and it will help you in the long run! Good Luck!

I can not believe you are already eating normal food! I just started mushy food yesterday and I can not have "solid" foods for 2 more weeks! You are lucky! I am nervous about my fill also, but from people I know they say it is a piece of cake! I will let you know!

Believe it or not, it has not been near as hard as I thought! I stopped liquids yesterday, Thank god! I started mushy food today and I had 3 oz of tuna w/ low fat mayo and I feel stuffed! I have lost as of today 22 lbs and I was banded a week ago. I walked for 52 minutes yesterday and that was a great accomplishment for me! I have 60 more lbs to go! I get my first fill in 2 weeks! Pipa keep me posted on your progress, You can do it!

I was banded on 1/4/08 and I am scheduled for my first fill on 2/4/08, exactly 4 weeks! My doctor seems to be more aggressive than most, but I am still not hungry! I started on mushy food yesterday, I have to do that for the next 2 weeks, then I can start on solids also!

I was banded this past Friday and i have lost 17lbs so far. I have not had any problems other than a little pain around the port sight. I am still on the Clear Liquids until this coming Sunday, so it will have been 10 days of clear liquids, then I get to move on to "mushy" foods. I am so excited about eating something with a little texture! I go for my first fill on 2/4/08............I can wait to weigh in then! Good Luck to all:whoo:

Thank you so much for you insight to this! I am so excited about this. I know it will be a brand new me. I am tired of people telling me I did not even need the surgery, but for my sake I did! Thanks again

Just wanting to know basics, my pain is almost gone, just some minor aches. I cant seem to go to the bathroom! I have never had that problem! I am having to force myself to drink my Protein Shakes, just have no desire for food or anything. Is that normal? How long did it take for you to start seeing the weight come off?:help:

I am a physical therapist and we have a plateform vibration machine and it does not help with weight loss, it is made for people with back and spinal problems.
