FYI- I got approved and have a date for 12/13/05.

I just my my date for December 13, 2005..I would love to lose at least 15 lbs before the surgery.. any suggestions?

I have to submit a 6 mo. MD supervised weight loss attempt w/ weight-ins letter to my doctor for the insurance company. I will hopefully get this letter on Wednesday when I go see my PCP. Does any one have to do the same thing? And if so do you have a sample letter. I would like my PCP to get this done ASAP.....

What did you have for breakfast/ lunch/ dinner on a liquid diet?

I have good documentation, The only problem is it is not consecutive like the insurance company wants...

HI evryone Well I just found out the other day, If effective Jan 01, 2006 The co-pay for the surgery will be 5,000.00. Right now it is 250.00...I still need the 6 month weight loss attempt documentation. My case worker seems to want to help and replyed to my e-mail when asked if the atkins diet was ok to list..the reponse was: Hello again, any diet followed, along with regular vs and documentation of your results by whoever is following you on this should suffice. And yes…..they would be looking for 6 consecutive months of documentation on wt. loss efforts……. So Hopefully I can get the doc to fill out paperwork on mondau so I can fax them Any comments ????

Just thought i stop by and say hello... Working on getting the lap band. My bmi is 51.5-- read below for current info 8-11-05- Attended Bariatric seminar in Greeley, Colorado 9-7-05- Had visit with nurse and consultation with Dr. Johnell- Staff were very nice and helpful. Weight in @ 339.lbs he recommends I lose at least 20 lbs before surgery... Dr. Johnell recommended lap band surgery.Have to have a sleep study done. Pre schedule phy- eval for Oct 10, 2005. 9-12-05- Attended support group in Greeley,Co- Subject was diet and nutrition-very informative 9-28-05-- completed sleep study- results- sleep apnea of course.
