  1. I'm 5'3 and my surgery was Dec 9, 2015

    SW: 221

    CW: 137

    GW: 125

I've lost 84lbs in 8 months so far. I hope to reach goal by end of September since it's slowed to about 6-8 lbs a month now for me. I'm not complaining though.

When did it start to slow down and how much weight did you lose your first 2 months

I was averaging 13-15lbs a month at first. I stopped working out consistently like in May and that's when the weight-loss slowed down but it didn't stop or anything, I am still making sure I get my Protein first and my fluids in. Also I should note that I never worked out super hard, just walked a couple of miles 4-5 days a week or swam a few laps in the pool. I had some stalls but never worried too much about them cuz people on here prepare you for that lol

  2. I smoked up to like 3 days before surgery and smoked again about 7days post op. I use a vaporizer. All is good with me. But your best bet is to be open with your doctor. I was. I'm sure it's nothing he hasn't heard before.

I'm 4mnths out and down 60lbs. 40lbs to goal!!! I must tell you though that I got the munchies like the 2nd time I smoked post op and it scared me so I haven't smoked since then. I didn't used to get the munchies before but something changed after surgery. I don't want to risk being fat again so ... I stopped. Just know your limits and pay attention to your body.

    Hope that helped.

  3. I took it for about a yr and a half back in 2010 and I'm pretty sure it saved me. My depression was pretty much gone, I had all this energy and my sex drive went through the roof!!! As if all that wasn't enough, an added bonus was I quit smoking within a week of using it and I haven't touched a cigarette since with zero desire to do so!!! It's a wonder drug if you ask me

  4. Holy crap!! I'm about to go into RNY surgery. My surgery is at 7:30am tomorrow. I have to be in the hospital by 6:00am. I'm super excited but I'm not entirely sure it's sunken in yet. I'll probably freak out when they start hooking me up to machines and putting in IV's and all that but for now I have a sense of calm for the most part. My feelings range from nervous and excited to do I really want to rearrange my anatomy?!!?!? Watch me be the only person that doesn't lose any weight from this!!

I feel pretty prepared... I think. This forum has been a Godsend. I've learned so much from reading all of your entries.

Good luck to my fellow surgery twins that will be going in tomorrow too. I will pray for you.

  5. @@jhammer2 It's a slippery slope, so just say "No" to cheat days! Instead, find alternatives to the foods you want to "cheat" with and you'll have a Win/Win situation. Here's one example ... I love pizza and life without it just seemed like it would be dreadful. Instead, I searched and researched and found a recipe that I tweaked to my own taste and voila - I get to eat pizza! It's bariatric friendly of course (the crust is made out of ground chicken breast) but it tastes super delicious. I now but the 3 lb. container of Perdue ground chicken breast so I can make 19 individual crusts at one time. They freeze beautifully and then I can have pizza within minutes. The cost, breaks down to about 60 cents per crust. I have other recipes for quiche, cheese cracker crisps, pudding and frozen yogurt bars. Let me know if you'd like any of them and I'll gladly share.

Please pm me that pizza recipe! Life without pizza seems unbearable and so far your recipe looks the most amazing!!!

  6. I'm with animel!! This pre-op thing is killing me!!! Have you cheated at all?

I did cheat!!! I was supposed to start it last wed but I had thanksgiving and ended up starting on friday. I went to pre register for surgery yesterday and I had lost 7lbs in the 5days that I followed it strictly. But today... I had sushi. And then I had a slice of cheese. I feel bad but I just had to break up the monotony of Protein Shake after Protein shake!!!
