  1. I had that nausea when I had my gallbladder removed. Good luck to you. Your recovery update is helping me to stay strong. I have six more days to go. So glad you are up and walking as well.

It'll be here before you know! I think the anesthesia just did a number on me bc once that wore off I felt a 100x better. The pain post op will be there but that's expected. Most of my pain is on the right side but I've been trying to just take the pain medicine at night time so I don't become dependent on it. So far so good. I was 257 pre op and weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 249 already!

  2. Thank you everyone! The surgery went well but recovery was a bit rough. I had the worst nausea from all the stomach acid lingering around. Pain hasn't been much of a problem either than when I'm dry heaving or having the hiccups. I'm doing a lot better today and continue to ambulate as much as I can. I probably walked for thirty minutes this past hour. Hoping to discharge today and recover well at home. Thanks for all the support!

  3. I started at 265 then have been bouncing all over. Dr wanted me to be 250ish! I got down to 251 at my last surgeon appt. However I went a little crazy on food funerals and feeding binges that I gained weight and now I weighed in at my pre-op class at 256 ugh now I have to lose that 5 pounds are 6 pounds by Monday

Omg I totally understand the food funerals lol. I was hoping to get down to 247-250 by next week.

  4. I started this journey back in August and can't believe it's already time for my surgery next week!

I've been on the pre-op full liquid diet for about a few days and it has been very difficult to resist temptation.

I'm supposed to be on the full liquids from nov3 till surgery date, so for seven days.

I had solid food the first day of the full liquids and felt so guilty. :(

I did better yesterday but I had quite the handful of crackers with my Soup at dinner.

I'm hoping the carb cravings will stop today. I weighed myself this morning and have gone from 257 to 254. Three pound down! I'm committed to stay motivated and stay away from temptations the rest of this journey. I don't want anything to stand in the way of my surgery next week!

Anyone else getting their gastric sleeve nov 10 next week? Share your journey with me!

    Thanks :)

  5. 3.5 weeks I felt more normal. The first 2 weeks are absolutely exhausting. You are getting very minimal calories and have zero energy. I had lifting restrictions until 6 weeks. I went back to work (active job) after 4 weeks.

Thanks for replying! I'm on my feet for 12 hours at least 3-4x a week and constantly moving, lifting, walking/running, and transferring patients around so that's why I'm so concerned. I'm tired as it is after a long 12 hour shift. I don't think I'll be able to go back after 1-1.5

  6. I am scheduled to have my surgery in November finally!

However, I'm concerned how long I'll have to be off from work. I know everyone takes a different time to go back to work and the recommended time is 2-3 weeks. And I'm not supposed to go back to work without weight lifting restrictions :(

But how long did it take y'all to actually feel "okay" post-op from pain and feeling like yourself again? (For a lack of a better way to form this question, lol)

    Just curious!

    Thanks for your input :)
