Sleeve is what I'm gonna do, I don't wanna be on all them vitamins/meds for life. The sleeve just seems like the best option for me. How long ago did you have this done?

So, I am finally gonna meet the Surgeon Monday morning. Nervous and excited ready to do this already n get it all started. I have only been to the Seminar so this is the next step ☺ I am 37 and have been overweight my entire life, hell I was 9lbs when I was born lol. Anyway, no more babies for me and I have grandkids now n my youngest son is almost 14...I wanna be around to see his children and to play with them at the park and on our front room floor. I wanna cross my legs and not be embarrassed to walk into a restaurant and have my husband pick me up n ride rides. I wanna live a life I haven't lived ever before and I want to live it with my family, not end up in an early grave. So, I am excited and nervous about meeting this man that could help change my life and allowing me to finally live. What all happens at the 1st visit? I'm sure they may be different from Dr to Dr but the jist should be the same...maybe. Anyway any advice or anything would be great, thank you in advance and have a great day!!! ????????????????

Has anyone been on depression/anxiety meds and had this done? Has anyone seen the psyc while on these meds and was approved/denied?

You all will do great! Yes this is scary and yes you may cheat, just keep in mind why you all are doing this. Each one of us is wanting different things yet the main goal is to be healthy and happy with/within ourselves. We are all human and we mess up we just have to be prepared to try our hardest to not mess up n when we do get right back on track. You all can do this!! I believe in everyone of you, if you couldn't you wouldn't have came this far, so don't doubt yourself now your almost there. YOU ALL GOT THIS!! ????????????☺

I'm referring to a liver shrinking diet, not the insurance requirements. I was excepting to have to have one for 2 wks or even 1 wk, but he said I don't need one at all which has made the whole experience really that much easier on me. I only have to switch to a liquid diet the night before and drink 1 bottle of magnesium citrate. That was a lot less painful than my colonoscopy clean out! ???? Lord yes that colon cleanse is horrible, I cried I hated it so much lol. Well that would defiantly make things better, I'm happy for you and you will do great! CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN! ????????

Congratulations !! Quick question, isn't the 6 month diet from the ins? Our ins stipulates that not the surgeon I didn't think.

You can do this, I believe in you and you have taken the steps to have this done...don't quit and don't give up. Take it meal by meal and before you know it you will be there SUCCESSFUL!

You are a lot farther than I am, I meet the surgeon the 23rd 1st visit after seminar so I have bookoo time left lol. You will do great! I'm sure your nervous just breathe deep and think good thoughts. So much life left to live and not have weight holding you back!! ????????

Has anyone been on these meds and passed/failed the psych eval? What about after surgery and these meds? Has it changed where you don't need these meds anymore?

The support meetings, I think we have to GI yo one of those anyway I could be wrong though. The only meetings like that is in Kc so I may have to go. I know its no cure all and I will have to workout and obviously eat better/smarter its a tool to help not a magic wand so to speak lol. To bad though ???????? As far as the meds, I just wasn't sure and it is great to hear so many are on meds and have passed the psych eval, didn't want them judging me cause I was on meds so to speak. Thank you and how far are you in this? I had no problem passing but I went to support groups before my visit. They were good about telling me to be realistic about the surgery. He wanted to know that I didn't think it was going to be easy and a cure all. I take Paxil and Buspar and I suffer from both anxiety and depression.

I am feeling better about the psych eval, just impatient and ready to get this going already. My 1st app isn't till the 23rd n that's to meet the surgeon I guess, not sure what happens the 1st meeting.

I have my 1st visit with surgeon on Nov 23rd, I am leaning towards the sleeve. Not wantingbyo take meds all my life, that's part of the reason for doing this in my opinion. However as my dad said "opinions are like assholes, everybody has one" ????????

Well I got the seminar out of the way and my 1st visit with the surgeon is 11/23, its a lil says but I asked them to call if they had a cancelation ????. Finally getting this going and they said actual time with the 6 month weight loss diet is 9-12 months ???? time time more damn time!! Oh well, on our way and I'm STOKED! Anyone else on the same kinda time line?

Yea that's what I meant lol. After the 6 month weight loss period it could be a cpl months longer however I hope not even if so it will just give me time to get used to and prepare for the changes and new me to come along. Your almost done, how are you doing and how is everything going? Did you do your psych eval already? I'm not sure what will happen the 1st visit they said there will be "homework" so to speak so who knows lol.

So I did the seminar this evening and my 1st app with the surgeon is Nov 23rd unless there is a cancelation. Got the ball rolling and I'm pumped!! ????????????????. So excited to start this journey

Hi I am going to the Seminar next week and am so ready to begin this new chapter. I do have questions though. Maybe some of you can help. My Ind has the 6month diet period but are you supposed to lose weight then? I mean lose gain stay the same, how do you even know?? Does the 6months start the 1st meeting or the seminar date? I'm sure there is more just can't think.
