  1. I am now scheduled for the 11th! It all worked out.
  2. 2 more days of solid good then three days of full liquids and then it's here! Getting really excited but still a bit nervous. I have been exercising for a few months and have toned up quite a bit and so I am hoping this will help to speed my recovery. I am really liking the "new directions" brand of pudding and their creamy chicken soup (27g protein each serving).
  3. I go for my pre op surgical consult tomorrow and I saw someone who was sleeved about two years ago who looks so frail and thin and now I am worried that could happen to me. I want to be healthy - not uber thin. Will I be able to control when the weight loss needs to stop without gaining it all back? I am writing this instead of doing what I really want to do (which is find anything in my house to eat myself stupid and sabotage my appointment tomorrow).
  4. I like the Premier protein shakes in Strawberry and Chocolate. 30 G protein.

  6. I found out today that my phone has been set to "do not disturb" for God knows how long, which is why all of my calls have been going directly to voicemail (where they of course cannot leave any confidential information) for at least the past week. I have no idea how it got into do not disturb mode, but the moment it was disabled, I received a call from my insurance company telling me that the dietary requirements form that my doctor's office sent was incomplete, and now they have to refax it with all of the clinical notes. No big problem – except that in another few days my surgery would've been denied and I wouldn't even have known why. I also found out that the place I'm getting my surgery surgery is no longer considered a "center of excellence" by my insurance company so now the insurance company is trying to steer me to some other state to have my surgery, but I am grandfathered in thankfully. I could not get the insurance company to give me any information about why my clinic is no longer considered a COE. Anyway, I will hopefully find out on Thursday that all of the requirements of been met and then maybe get a surgery date. What a roller coaster day! Still, these are all first world problems, and having a place to vent is really a blessing.
  7. I had a dietician tell me once that I was hold a lot of water (and I was drinking lots of water to flush my system as well) and she had me take one day where I ate only apples and a 6 oz steak with very little water on that day. The next day I resumed drinking my 64 oz water and dropped 6 lbs in water weight by the end of the day. Part of my prob was too much sodium so I have to constantly remind myself to tone it down (I've been know to be a bit of a salt addict which I am certain led to high blood pressure in combination with the excess weight). Check with your nutritionist to see if this might be an option for you.
  8. Looking good in Regular size clothes. Bicycling. Less pain. Being less self conscious in photos. Not feeling guilty for overeating. Less sensitivity to heat. Less meds.
  9. I hope to be November. I'm being told that's when I'll be scheduled (if my insurance co will ever confirm)
  10. I saw your pm but can't read it. I get this error: [#10226] You are not allowed to use the private messaging system Would love an update though. How did it go?
  11. Go you! Cycling is awesome. I used to cycle a lot before I gained so much weight. Can wait to get sleeved and lose enough to return to it! I will cycle vicariously through you for now. Good luck.
  12. Premier Protein Strawberry (tastes like strawberry Quik) and Bariatric Advantage orange cream flavor.
  13. I'm waiting too. It's been 15 (calendar) days since my surgery center submitted for insurance approval. I have UHC and that will not be covering my clinic next year. I weigh 247 (down from 256) and am 5'5". I checked today and UHC confirms they received the request but hadn't processed it yet. I keep having doubts like "you should be able to lose this weight without surgery" but I have tried for so many years (and sometimes succeeded temporarily) that I know without drastic change I will just keep returning to my old behaviors. It's been over 10 years since I've been under 200 lbs, and it's taking a huge toll on my low back and knees. I'm so ready to move without being in pain!
