I found out today that my phone has been set to "do not disturb" for God knows how long, which is why all of my calls have been going directly to voicemail (where they of course cannot leave any confidential information) for at least the past week. I have no idea how it got into do not disturb mode, but the moment it was disabled, I received a call from my insurance company telling me that the dietary requirements form that my doctor's office sent was incomplete, and now they have to refax it with all of the clinical notes. No big problem – except that in another few days my surgery would've been denied and I wouldn't even have known why. I also found out that the place I'm getting my surgery surgery is no longer considered a "center of excellence" by my insurance company so now the insurance company is trying to steer me to some other state to have my surgery, but I am grandfathered in thankfully. I could not get the insurance company to give me any information about why my clinic is no longer considered a COE. Anyway, I will hopefully find out on Thursday that all of the requirements of been met and then maybe get a surgery date. What a roller coaster day! Still, these are all first world problems, and having a place to vent is really a blessing.
