  1. Hello everyone... I'm new on here. Literally an hour new.

I was sleeved April 1st. I'm 8 days out. I can answer questions from everything from Pre Op Diet to Surgery, Recovery and the Post OpEatch. Me. liquid diet. I am just starting Full liquids today ( OK last night before bed ) .... I am certainly not an expert or a Doctor, but I have done it and would love to hear from people that are just now a week post op like me.

    Hi Watch.Me.Lose.It

I had my surgery yesterday and doing quite well, I would love to chat but it's 2am, I woke to go to the bathroom saw your email and wanted to touch base. I will chat with you tomorrow.

  2. Hello all April Sleevers, I had my sleeve done today, actually it was yesterday morning at 5:30am. Surgery went very well and I had a small hernia repair done as well which I didn't know I had. Surgery only lasted about an hour and since that time, I have walked the long hall 3 times and been sucking on ice chips the whole time. I thank God that I haven't had any issues. One piece of advice I would give would be to follow doctors orders as close as possible, suck on the ice chips, walk as much as possible and listen to your fellow sleevers who have had it done already. Good luck to everyone and if you have any questions I'm here. God Bless.

  3. Boy do I need help. I forgot it was only a tool and after I lost 60 lbs., I started eating like a person without a weight problem.. I am 68 years old, had the sleeve 3 years ago and gained most of that weight back. Have insulin dependant diabetes that got worse instead of better, have severe arthritis that limits my physical workouts including 2 artificial knees. I am a registered nurse and should have known better. The only thing I do is Water exercise.

Hi ckunes. Don't be so hard on yourself, we all make mistakes and fall back into old habits sometimes. The key is to realize where you went wrong and go from there. Like you said, you are a RN so you know what you have to do. I wish you the best going forward.

  4. thanks, redvet! feeling better every day. Trying to wait until my 2 week appointment to weigh myself, but it is so tempting!

If anyone is interested, I have a full box of Optifast left over - 6 vanilla 1 chocolate- and would be happy to hand off to one of you. Not sure how I ended up with extra, but it's $15 you could save. Pick up in Newark off of Kirkwood Hwy.

So glad you're feeling better!!! I have 2 boxes of Optifast that I have to finish, lol. Hopefully someone will be able to use it. Talk to you soon. Let's exchange numbers and keep in touch.

  5. Thanks for asking! I'm doing relatively well. Hit my fluid goals for the first time today and am slowly easing into full liquids. Still walking frequently, but not able to get around so well just yet - having a fair amount of pain on the right side of my belly. This too shall pass!

Good for you with the Fluid intake! I hope the pain is not so bad, I think by you having a positive attitude will do wonders for you and your recovery. You sound as though you're getting the hang of this. I think as long as we pay attention to our bodies we will be ok. I pray you continue to do well and enjoy sitting on that Losers bench.

  7. Nice congrats the also a fb group and they really active if u want to join

I have my surgery date!! 3/29/16 I'll be getting started with my healthier life!! Started the liquid pre-op diet yesterday and it is soooo bad. But I'm determined and will get through this! My surgeon is Dr. Halbert and I have my last pre-surgical appointment on Monday. I have a lot to do to get me and my house ready for recovery. Wish me luck!

Hey I'm new to support group! I had surgery 1/27/16 with Dr. Singh with the Chrias group. I'm down 39 pounds so far, slowly but surely coming off. I have the patience of a gnat so hopefully it picks up a bit.

Hi JannaBananaSleeve, I think you're doing great, slow and steady is my motto and from what I've learned during this process, those that lose at a slow and steady pace has the most success. Keep up the good work!

Off blood pressure meds. Knees are so much better. On regular food

Tried pop corn no problem of course a small amount.

Because it's only been 6 1/2 weeks know other health issues will go away or improve. sleep apnea lose the machine.

Surgery went really well no problems.

Enjoy reading post for us in our 60's. Never to late to enjoy better health and smaller clothes.

That's awesome Seahawks12! I am looking forward to getting off my meds and cpap machine as well. Do you have any regrets at all? How are you doing today? How has your family, Co workers and friends responded? Sorry about all the questions but us sleevers are very curious.

  9. Hello All, I'm curious ... I'm 6wks out, will be 7 wks come Monday, and I'm having some issues. I've been vomitting and dizzy and having headaches, I was fine up until about 3 wks ago. The Dr. says it just Migraines but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had any problems like this or similar, since having surgery. And what helped you if so, I was given prescriptions and they are helping some.

Sorry to hear you're having issues, even though I haven't had my surgery yet, I'm on a few pages and from what I have heard that usually mean dehydration. So sip, sip sip as much as you can. Good luck.

  10. I think I could have gone back at least within the week - I was operated on on a Thursday, and I think by the following Wednesday I could have been back at work. Part of the question is how you commute - since you are not supposed to drive while taking the pain meds. I take the train into Philly, so I wouldn't have had to worry about that.

How you doing Tammy O? I hope all is well.
