  1. Just a reminder that this is a MINI GASTRIC BYPASS forum. We are sharing information about NEGATIVES about the MINI GASTRIC BYPASS operation, not the sleeve, not Gastric Bypass, not the lap band, but negatives about the MINI GASTRIC BYPASS. Of couse some may be having revisions TO the Mini Gastric Bypass, and we can share about that, but the purpose of this particular forum is the negatives about the MINI GASTRIC BYPASS. We are all anxious to hear about post surgery MINI Gastric bypass patients and the negatives of their experience.

    Thanks everyone!

I couldn't agree more! Thank you for politely saying this! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to tell certain sleevers to get back to their own forum, they have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to the MGB!

I am new to this entire forum, I am 2 weeks post lap band to MGB, I thought I would get some tips in here, but all I see is a bunch of bitching, as stated already this is the MGB section of the forum. I am a male, I am 58 years old and from Australia, people need to chill out and be supportive, isn't this what this forum is for - thanks, as you were!!!!

If this bitching is the way this forum operates then I won't be around long, I am here for advice and support.

(BTW, 'bloke' is Australian for male - :) )

  2. I've seen Dr Rutledge on his YouTube videos talk about Proferrin. It's a pain to get to me (Australia) think, so I just stick to normal Iron supplements. I take them with juice too. Vit c and Iron go hand in hand.

You could have a rare steak and cut it into small pieces ... Hmm that'll be my most favourite way of iron!

Nutri-chew is a multiviatam available in Australia, my dietician recomends it as it has high levels of iron, it is chewable, you can buy it online as well

I was using it when I had the lap band in, I stopped for a while as I thought I didn't need it, my iron dropped to buggery (which is really uncommon for men) and was really fatigued, I finished up having an iron infusion to get my iron back up

  3. Hi All, Trevor here from Australia

I had Lapland surgery in early 2010, I had good success with weight loss, but had lots of band complications, so I had a mini gastric bypass one week ago yesterday, currently I am not too heavy, I am weighing in at 112kgs (247lbs) just before the surgery last week, I had been down to 92 kgs (203lbs), I was at 104 kgs (224lbs) before the band was removed 3 months ago

I am looking forward to continuing the journey but with a different route
