    Thanks!!!!!

I included you in a private message ...

Please let me know if you got it because I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. (The other two people in the conversation haven't let me know if they got the message or not)

I tried to copy the message so I could email it to you but it won't let me.

So if what I said in the pm isn't what you're looking for then let me know:)

    Thank again!

  2. I loathe Halloween.... always have - even as a kid! Buuuuuutttt it was probably due to my size and always feeling uncomfortable in any costume.

    Another buuuttt

    .....

This year we are actually THROWING A HALLOWEEN PARTY!

    It was even my idea!

Me! Mine! I haven't decided what I'm going to dress up as yet but the fact that I am even thinking of doing anything other than my usual (which is nothing) is a huge deal for me :)

  3. Thank you Alex!!

I haven't really thought about how to maintain... I guess I'd better start thinking about that!

I've never had to maintain before!

    HA!

ACK now I'm worried hahaha I don't know how to do that, I've always been on "lose weight" mode.

Research and experimenting appears to be in my near future!

I'll have to look on BP too to see if there is a post or two with very specific tips and instructions on maintenance

    Take care

    thanks again!

    Heather

    @@heather5565,

Congratulations on your one year surgiversary! You look amazing! Good luck as you hit goal weight and move into maintenance. Do you have any specific plans and strategies for maintenance, or are you just going to take it as it comes? Thanks for sharing your stats and pic!

  4. Did U have skin surgery u look wonderful did u work out a lot

Omgoodness that's an awesome compliment because no I have not had skin removal surgery.... yet. LOL

I may someday for my tummy but it's not so bad that I need it done right away.

I do not have any boobies which kinda sucks so that may be in my future too.

My arms have a little bit of damage but not too bad IMO.

    I do workout, yes.

    My exercises are:

Winter - snow-shoeing, cross country skiing and I plan on trying downhill skiing this year (haven't done that since I was a kid!)

All other seasons - hiking, biking & walking

Gym or indoor stuff - yoga, weight training, high intensity workouts, spinning, stairmaster, rowing, & Zumba

I workout anywhere between 3-6 days a week. Just depends on how I feel and what's going on in my life during that week :)

Thank you again for the sweet words!

  6. Today marks my one year anniversary!

One year ago I made the decision to save my life. I believe I may have done that :D

It's been a quick and a much successful year - in my opinion HAHA

    Surgery date Sept 21 2015

    Starting weight 273.4

Current weight 157.0 (I was down to 153.6 a couple of weeks ago but must've been eating too much salt lately; hence the slight increase LOL)

Goal weight 150 - which I will succeed here shortly!

Thanks for all of your support on this website!

Now to get to goal and live happily ever after!!

    Heather

    You're so awesome!

  8. I was never told that I can never have alcohol again.

I was advised to not have any for a while after surgery but not even given a time line.

I turned the big 4-0 about 6 weeks after surgery. Did I have a glass of wine.

You bet I did! I was turning 40!

Have I had many drinks since...? Um.. yes. Yes I have and no I have not had any problems.

At 11 months post op I am down 118.8 pounds and only 4.6 lbs from goal.

Don't care what people say - I'm gonna have a damn "adult" drink whenever I want.

I've worked very hard to get to where I am - in life and with weight loss.

I'm 40 years old. I can make 40 year old decisions and if drinking alcohol is one of them, I'm gonna do it.

    Lol

I have even had a forbidden beer or two. I'll admit it - I don't feel great after a beer because of the carbonation and it filling me up so quickly, so I don't drink them very often at all.

We are all adults and know our own bodies best. I get that the doctor and nutritionist knows a lot about the effects of alcohol but not ever drinking again is unrealistic.

    In my opinion.
