    My journey

I had my initial consultation, then my 6 appointments with my PCP (required by my insurance, once a month!) The psych evaluation and 2 visits with my NUT. And like mentioned above, the support groups should I chose to attend.
  3. When I told my little girl who is 10 that I was thinking of having surgery to lose weight. She looked at me and paused and while her big beautiful brown eyes filled with tears she said "mommy, I'm so happy your going to be so happy." Being fat and obese has taken a toll on my kids happiness, NOT JUST MINE! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!
  4. Nikki that's great!!!!! So I guess we are getting sleeved around the same time! So I've been trying to NOT GAIN, but not lose to much either! So far I've lost 3 then gained 6 then lost 3. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!!! I'm looking forward to my psych evaluation and meeting with the NUT on the 28th. It makes me feel like things are moving.

    What did your breast's do?

VERY PERSONAL! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!! Since we are talking about boobs, let me ask about the "downstairs". Saggy? Did it perk up?

When do you get a date

I don't get the date until I meet my 6 month "wait" required by my insurance. I then go back to my surgeon and depending on the scheduling, I get a date but it may be a month or two out.

To Tell or Not to Tell?

I haven't told anyone but my husband my mother in law and my kids. My sister is extremely morbidly obese and she cries and talks about her weight to me often. So I don't want to tell her because I feel like it would make her feel worse that I am able to do this and she can't/or won't.

    Let's Talk: Fears?

I'm uneasy about the fact that there will be metal staples in my body. I'm afraid that my family won't support me when they find out what I've done. I haven't told anyone but my children and husband. I'm afraid of my sisters feelings. She is morbidly morbidly obese and often cries and talks to me about her weight.
  9. did you see your surgeon yet?
  10. Nikki!!!! I'm your gal!! I too just started the process! I have to wait 6months per my insurance! I've met with my surgeon and have started the monthly visits with my PCP. I'm just trying to get everything done ahead I time so I have my psych eval scheduled for the 28th of this month and the same day I see the RD to discuss pre and post op diet. I'm 5'6 and first official starting weight 280! I have tried to come down some so that my insurance can see that I'm trying so I weighed yesterday at 278. Don't want to lose to much, but can gain either. HURRY UP 6 months!!!!
  11. I had my first appointment today! It's far from where you all are now, but it's the start for me. I also have my psych eval scheduled and my pre surgery appointment with my nutritionist set! I'm excited! Just gotta wait the 6 months now!

    Anyone from Virginia?

    What insurance do you have?
  13. I haven't even started this journey and I'm already emotional! I cried this evening thinking of the things I would be able to do with my family and how much better I will feel. I've thought about how I will finally get a good nights rest once the weight starts to go, I'm full of emotions but so ready to do this! I see my surgeon tomorrow and then the waiting process! 6 months is what my insurance company has me waiting.

    Summer clothes

I'm so new to this! I see my surgeon tomorrow and then my pcp to star the six month diet and exercise "insurance waiting period" program. So I have awhile to wait but I'm so ready to get it done! I'm so sick of myself and this fat!! In your experience is 6 months along time to wait or did it go by fast?
