My daughter and I both have had the sleeve done. I was Sept 1 and she was Oct 20. She still lives at home with me so it's a great support for both of us.

Hi everyone! I just thought I would pop in and see how everyone is doing so far?
I am feeling great.
scale is under the bed (it messes with my head)
I don't know about the rest of you but I am really looking forward to the new year!
I am sorry that I don't come in here often but the September Sleevers FB group keeps me pretty busy.
If you want to join for support shoot me a message.
You mean there is a Facebook page for people who have had surgery in Sept#! Why did I not know about this? How do I sign up?

I used to hold on to everything, now I donate it all. I keep nothing. Once the weight is gone it's never coming back so why keep them, that's my thought. That's a great idea about the consignment shop.

Fantastic pictures! I had no complications at all and I'm thankful for that. Let's keep in touch with each other throughout this journey.

its been awhile since ive been in here. On sept 17 2014 i had my sleeve done. Best thing I e ever done for me. I have lost 110 lbs. I am 13 months post op. i am doing wonderful. I have had some real strange mind things going on. Like I know i have lost the weight but its like my brain hasnt caught up. any body else have these feelings. on october 22 2015, just 3 weeks ago i had my excess skin removed on my belly. and yep it made the thoughts even worse. ....need a little help here.....I still think its the best thing but its just kinda weird. maybe it was because it was so fast. I have also suffered some eating disorder stuff.I am currently seeing a counselor for that. she seems to believe because im a perfectionist that its an obsession with the food. has anyone else had these issues. i do have that this all comes and goes depending on the day. any thoughts support welcomed. Im doing this alone. no one in my family supported me on this idea at all. thanks
Sorry to hear that your family is not supporting you. We will support you. Counseling is probably the best thing you can do. Congrats on your weight loss and your skin surgery. Hang in there

Good advice, thank you. I was not looking forward to no carbs at all.

Well I think I have finally hit my first real stall. By that I mean, I've been the same weight for 7 days. I've done a 3 say stall but not a week straight. I know that I'm not getting all the fluids and Proteins I need and I'm sure that's the problem. I'm considering adding some Protein Shakes back into my daily diet. I've also go to eliminate all carbs. I've got alot on my plate at home right now therefore carbs have made their way back into my life. I seriously need to reboot!

Let me be the first to say....it's time to be selfish! This about you and your life changing experience. You do not need to tell work why you are getting surgery, atleast specifically what kind. That's why there is hipa. Good luck with your surgery.

I think you are probably like some of us who left life get in the way and put yourself last. I've done this for the last 24 years while taking care of my kids, my house, my husband, and my job. You need to start understanding that you deserve this. There will be no shame from this step forward. Put your shame behind you and embrace the fact that you are getting the chance to change your life for the better and for you, not anyone else. Good luck to you.

I'm freezing all the time. The more I lose the colder I get. I was told eventually you return to normal and it doesn't bother you. I sure hope so.
Starting the process could use some encouragement

I called my insurance prior to attending my first seminar. It helped speed up my process and I knew exactly what I was required to do and for how long. The insurance company told me everything as far as how long my wait period qas, which was only 3 months w cap blue cross. I attended my first seminar, scheduled my Dr appt for 2 weeks later, my nut appt was a week after that and the appts just kept flowing, next thing I knew my wait was over and I had surgery on 9/1. You won't chicken out. It's the best thing I've ever done. Not mention I'm almost 50lbs lighter. I didn't have to lose any weight prior to surgery as my bmi was only 40 which is the minimum required by insurance. So call that insurance company and get the details you wot regret it.
